I am Puerto Rican 🇵🇷, (as Trump said) an island in the middle of the ocean surrounded by water. But actually very beautiful waters. 🏝 Oh, and we are Americans...🇺🇸 Yes, American citizens. For more than 100 years, in fact. We also speak Spanish and English. And we have served in the army of the US since 1917... Yes really! We received 22.5 million dollars 💵 a year in social assistance and government grants; but we produce over 73 billion dollars for the US economy. Why do we have two surnames? Because women do not lose their last name when they get married and because we do not forget our mothers. Our small island, surrounded by great waters, gives more members to military service than any other state of the US. And we have astronauts👩🏽‍🚀👨🏽‍🚀, NASA 👩🏻‍🏭🚀🛰🔭👨🏻‍🏭 engineers, scientists 👩🏻‍🔬🌡🧪🧫🦠🧬🔬👨🏻‍🔬, judges of the supreme court of justice 👩🏻‍⚖👨🏻‍⚖, a gold medal receiver of honor 🥇, 5 CROWNS OF MISS UNIVERSE 👸🏻👑; academy awards 🏆, grammys 🏆, tony awards🏆, ⚽🏀🏈⚾🥎🎾🏐🥏🥊🏓🚲 and world-class artists 🎞🎬🎤🎧🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻🎨🎭, many doctors and nurses 👩🏻‍⚕👨🏻‍⚕, and many, many more distinguished citizens who call our beautiful little island home. 👮🏻‍♀👮🏻‍♂👷🏻‍♀👷🏼‍♂🕵🏻‍♀🕵🏻‍♂👩🏻‍🌾👨🏻‍🌾👩🏻‍🍳👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🎓👨🏽‍🎓👩🏻‍🏫👨🏻‍🏫👩🏻‍💼👨🏻‍💼👩🏻‍🔧👨🏻‍🔧👩🏻‍🎨👨🏻‍🎨👩🏻‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒👩🏻‍✈️👨🏽‍✈️ We are a beautiful and interesting mixture of blood; 34% Taino 👦🏽, 33% European 👱🏼‍♂ and 33% African🧔🏿-which gives us an incredible drive to survive.
