if you asked eddie kaspbrak, he'd say he has three soulmates. richie tozier, stanley uris and bill denbrough. the fantastic four, the original quartet, the four horsemen. eddie treasures each and every moment with his three best friends. every night after his mom is passed out in her armchair, eddie will play his stereo low and replay the memories in his head he has with his best friends. he'll replay the conversation they had during lunch today that ended in "beep beep richie" and a chorus of laughter. he'll save the notes they pass each other in class. bill, richie and stan are eddie's everything's. eddie loves when richie sneaks in through his window in the night because he can't stand being apart from eddie for more than 4 hours. he loves when richie will steal a chocolate bar for eddie from the school cafeteria line. eddie loves when richie will pass him notes in class of obscene drawings of their history teacher. he loves when richie makes him laugh. eddie loves when stan invites him out for the day to go birdwatching out by the barrens. he loves that when he sleeps over at stan's they'll curl up in his bed and stare at each other and exchange secrets. he loves how stan knows him. eddie loves his nightly calls with bill after dinner where they talk about "homework" (aka the spider-man comic they're reading and how bad greta's new haircut is). he loves listening when bill reads him one of his new stories he wrote. he loves the friendship bracelet that has been wrapped around his wrist since bill gave it to him on his ninth birthday. he loves having bill in his company. he loves how his best friends make him laugh. how they're always doing something stupid together, how the teachers seem to sigh when the four of them are in a class together. he loves his best friends.

What do u think the losers would get into as extracurriculars in high school

eddie would pretend to be involved in a bunch of em so he could schedule in his bff hangouts without sonia meddling. a fave thought i always come back to is he tells his mother he’s currently super into the latin club so he can clubhouse it up every night. then has to actually teach himself latin for realism. he would want to do a sport like track or baseball though and on the reverse have to tell sonia he’s hanging out w bill when those r on.

mike is canonly on the football team obv and i really enjoy that. if it counts i can also see him tutoring. if it should be an actual club then perhaps photography club i can see him geeking out over janky old cameras

ive said b4 that richie does essentially everything (barring sports lol) bc thats the way his hyper fixation cookie crumbles. especially formative ones for him r debate drama club and av club. his only extracurricular commitment that remains throughout is hosting the school radio

stanley would be a mathlete and or an attendant of the chess club. love heart emoji. also when discussing with river and max a while ago it came up that stan should man the lights and fx etc for the school plays. he and richie can walk home from rehearsal together :)

i like to run w little baby miniseries bev saying she wanted to be a painter so lets stick bev in an art club. cute. she also is one of the only ppl in this lineup with Coordination…maybe soccer? 

ben would be invested in something super nerdy like miniature railroad club. i think he’d go for a language too

bill would write for the school paper of courseeee. he’d get into something filmy too…filmmaking if after he left Derry he went school someplace that would offer such a thing. it’s a known fact i really enjoy him having a 15 year old Auteur phase 🎬

i’ve been writing losers club / it fics for seven years so i’ve had plenty of time to perfect their middle names so here they are

eddie

eddie’s middle name when i write him is always isaiah. it’s biblical, it’s pretty, and i just think eddie’s mom is very much about pretty perfect things and edward isaiah kaspbrak is just a pretty little name

richie

alwaysssss wentworth! always! richard wentworth tozier is so ingrained into my mind that it’s almost canon to me. i just think wentworth and maggie are the type to name their kids after themselves and when richie was born they were like okay cute, little boy, dads name as his middle name.

stan

i think stanley asher is so cute and it’s also a popular name in hebrew and it goes well with his last name so i do love it. truth be told i did do a little digging when i was 14 and needing a middle name for stan and asher was one of the names that kept showing up on popular jewish names websites so it kinda just stuck w me. stanley asher uris ur so famous to me <3

Stan and Richie Friendship HC

-even though Stan finds Richie insufferably irritating, he loves him like a brother

-and even though Richie thinks that Stan has a stick stick so far up his ass he’s surprised the boy isn’t coughing wood chips, Stan has never failed to be there for him.

-anyway the met each other in kindergarten before al of the other losers came into the picture

-Stan was playing with a dump truck in the sand, when Richie saw he was alone he marched right up and practically screamed “HI MY NAME IA RICHIE TOZIER I WANNA BE YOUR FRIEND”

-Stan looked at him with as much disgust a chubby kindergartener could muster and shook his head “no thank you”

-do not fear, that entire year Richie would not give up! And eventually Stan got tired of saying no and finally said yes to being his friend

-Richie was extraordinarily happy that he finally had a friend to play with

-skip forward a little bit

-Richie has only gotten more obnoxious but Stan has still been his friend. In elementary school Anytime a kid would bully Richie for being too loud Stan would step in and tell the bully off

-Richie found out that Stan is Jewish in 5th grade when Richie tried to invite him over for a Christmas party

-“i don’t celebrate Christmas Richie” “WhAT do YoU mEaN you don’t CelEbratE chRistMas?!?!” “I’m Jewish Richard. I don’t celebrate Christmas because it not a thing for my religion to do so.” “Oh. Ok. Well you’re still invited. It’s free food” and that was that.

-in middle school

-Richie has been properly diagnosed with ADHD and has to take Adoral so it stays in check

-he forgets all the time but Stan is there to remind him every day.

-anyway one day a boy is pushing Stan around and making fun of him for his religion

-Richie jumps in and starts talking a mile a minute because he hasn’t taken his meds yet.

-“what the fuck is wrong with being Jewish huh? What the fuck dude?” He keeps going on till the guy just leaves and Stan isn’t crying anymore

-Stan hugs him tightly muttering a quiet thank you.

-In high school

-Stan and Richie have both grown a lot.

-Stan was in the journalism club

-Richie was learning guitar

-Richie read everything Stan wrote

-Stan listened to everything Richie played

-the bullying has gone from stupid words to actual physical violence

-both of them went to the nurse weekly with new bruises

-that doesn’t deter them from standing up for their best friend.

-in college

-Richie has become really good at guitar and is even playing in a band

-Stan decided to leave journalism to pursue business.

-Stan goes to every gig

-Richie calms Stan down from panic attacks before finals

-in the end, yes Richie is insufferably annoying but Stan wouldn’t trade his annoying ass for the world.

-and yes, Stan still has the stick up his ass but Richie loves him like the brother he never got the chance to have.

-both of them think that becoming friends was the best decision either of them have ever made.
