At first, you thought this was a dream come true. It wasn’t often that you got lucky enough to be paired with your crush for a project, but here you were, meeting him at your apartment for the sixth time in one month. It was more than you could ever dare to hope for. For the longest time, you had thought that you were condemned to a life of daydreams and fantasies.
Trafalgar Law was an odd man, one who was not particularly liked by his peers— aside from you, of course. He was cold, and the sort to stare if you managed to garner his, usually unwanted, attention. When he did speak, it was a snarky remark at the recipient's expense, both classmate and professor, Law had no patience for perceived stupidity you realized after weeks of study. His tattoos were off putting to most. What kind of medical student had ‘death’ written across his knuckles? You, on the other hand, found them fascinating. The story behind such morbid body art was sure to be captivating.
If only you could get him to share it.
You shouldn’t be surprised. Law was quiet, only ever speaking to prove someone wrong, or to insist that he was right. When he did talk to you, it was about the project and his own personal plans for it. You could hardly get a word in edgewise. Instead of fighting Law on it, you allowed him to do whatever he pleased with the project, following his orders dutifully, which seemed to earn you the smallest margin of his rarely given respect. Last meeting, he had even acknowledged your interjection with a nod, rather than a scoff, though he didn’t incorporate your idea at all. Progress was progress, you supposed.
Your keys jingled as you pulled them from your pocket. Before you could stick them in the knob, the door creaked open, revealing your empty living room. It was dark, no signs of life. Not even your cat came to greet you. You swallowed hard, anxiety making your saliva thicken until it was stuck in your throat as a hard glob.
You told Law where your spare key was hidden, had he forgotten to close the door after he arrived?
“Law?” There was no response. With your heart pounding, you pushed the door open further and stepped into your apartment. Floorboards creaked under your weight, making you wince. There was something that told you to be quiet, that there was someone waiting for you in the shadows, ready to strike. Your hands wouldn’t stop shaking.
A dim light in the kitchen caught your attention, and you slowly tip-toed over to it, careful to keep your footsteps light. Carpet squelched under your shoes. Maybe Law spilled a glass of water and went looking for a rag. Surely, your organizational skills weren’t so bad he was still looking for one. You choked on an uncomfortable laugh.
Like your front door, your fridge was open. Not gaping, but a small crack to let the barest sliver of light out. A sense of dread settled on your shoulders, though you tried to remind yourself that Law was supposed to be here. Everything could be explained if he would come out. All he needed to do was make his presence known and you would know you were safe. You swallowed hard, staring at the refrigerator door. It was your only source of light in the apartment, if you closed it now, you’d be surrounded on all sides by darkness.
You blinked, cocking your head to the side to get a better view. There was something large and furry on the top shelf. Nausea roiled in your gut, threatening to spill your dinner onto the floor, as dim recognition flickered in your brain.
With your knuckle, you pushed the door open fully to get a better look. There, inside of your fridge, was your cat. He wasn’t breathing, eyes glassy and body stiff under the pale yellow light.
Your cat was dead and its corpse was in your fridge.
You couldn’t help it. You screamed.
“You’re home.”
Scrambling backwards until your lower back hit the counter, you could barely make out Law’s figure through your blurry vision. You choked on a sob and hastily wiped your eyes. He seemed bored as he leaned against the wall, almost unimpressed, though there was a glimpse of something softer in his gaze. Not concern, not yet, but close enough to it that you could pretend.
You pointed a shaky finger at the fridge. “M-My cat.”
“I know, I put it in there.” Law strode into the kitchen and closed the door with his foot. You felt better not having to look at the corpse anymore, even if tears continued to leak from your eyes. “I didn’t want it to decompose and start to stink before you were able to bury it. I know you were fond of it.”
“What happened? How did he die?”
Law shrugged, noncommittal. “I’m not sure. It was dead when I got here. I figured you would rather me not perform an autopsy in your living room considering I have no veterinary experience.”
“An-And you put it in my fridge? You couldn’t have left a note on the door or—“
Law scoffed, “And what would the note say? Cat dead, details later? Think for a second.”
The longer the conversation continued, the harder you sobbed. You loved that cat. He’d been with you for years now, through thick and thin. You’d never feel his warm body on your chest again as he slept, you’d never feel his purr rumble against your skin, you’d never be able to pet him under his chin the way he liked it ever again. It was too much to think about, grief rolling over you like a wave, threatening to drown you.
Law’s gaze softened, even if his sigh was exasperated. “We can postpone working on the project until you’re able to gather yourself.”
He turned to leave, but your hand shot out to grab his wrist. “Please don’t leave me here with him.”
The body. You couldn’t bury him. Not alone. Law thought for a moment, his golden eyes glazed over for a second before a smirk inched across his face. He only ever got that look when he thought of a plan, and this looked to be a good one. With a condescending pat on your head, Law wrenched himself from your grasp, grin still in place.
“That’s alright, Y/N-ya, I’m not going anywhere. I can sleep on your couch and help you with its body tomorrow.” His pupils shot over to the fridge. “It’s best if you leave it in there for the night, corpses are best kept cold.”
Sniffling, you gave a shaky nod. “I’ll set up the couch.”
It was three am when a knock at your door woke you.
The weight of mourning felt heavy in your chest and your bed felt too cold without the familiar warmth of your cat. Your heart ached at the reminder of his demise. All you wanted to do was curl up and go back to sleep. Forget about what waited for you in the fridge.
So tired, both emotionally and physically, you were ready to chalk the knock up to a dream. That was, until you heard it again, louder and more forceful this time.
An unwanted feeling of anxiety crawled up your spine. Something felt off, a sense of wrongness filled the air until it was so thick, you could hardly breathe. A horrible yowl resounded through your apartment, blood curdling and unnatural. There was a familiarity to the scream. You took no comfort in it. Your eyes shot open, and you leapt from your bed onto your feet, wired from the sudden surge of adrenaline. Hyperventilating breaths ripped from your chest.
The knock sounded again. “Y/N-ya, I have something to show you.”
Law’s deep voice sent goosebumps erupting down your arms. If you were being honest, it wasn’t the first time it had happened, but this time, there was something different about it. Dread curled in your gut, sleeping inside you like the cat in your fridge. With a cry, you covered your ears and curled in on yourself when whatever was in your living room screamed again.
“Law, do you hear that?”
You didn’t have to see him to know he rolled his eyes. “Come out, there’s something I need you to see.”
Your feet moved on their own accord, drawn by the sound of Law’s voice. Even as the thing in your living room wailed, your fingers found your knob and curled around it. The brass was cold against your palm. It grounded you. The first thing you noticed when you opened the door was that Law had blood smeared across the front of his shirt. It didn’t seem to be from any wounds, and you found yourself relieved, even if you couldn’t begin to explain where it came from.
Law was grinning, all teeth, a manic gash across his face. “I did it. A success, right here in your apartment. You must be my lucky charm.” He patted your head.
“Did what?” You peered around him.
“I’ll show you.” He paused before stepping to the side. “I did it for you, you know? I know how fond you were of it.”
There was something on your coffee table. It twitched and convulsed, mouth open in a soundless scream as its eyes bulged out of its sockets. Blood pooled around it, dripping onto the carpet. It took a second for you to recognize it through the pulsing viscera. He hadn’t been so cut up before. Instead, he had been so whole, you could have mistaken him for being asleep if it wasn’t for the glassiness in his eyes. Beside him was an empty syringe and a container of glowing green fluid.
“My cat,” You choked out. “What did you do to him?”
Law wrapped an arm around you and held you to his chest. “I brought it back for you.” He glanced at the bloody mass, a frown tugging at his lips. “There are still some kinks to work out, but this was a good test of my reagent.” Expectant, Law glanced at you. “But, I need more trials.”
“He was dead,” Your tone was flat, and your body was numb. When you looked away, Law grabbed your chin and forced you to look at the thing pulsating on your coffee table.
“Look at it. I defeated death tonight. I did what every doctor has dreamed of doing for millenia, and the first steps to realizing this were done in your apartment. You should be honored.”
“Why did you do this?”
“Because I wanted to share something extraordinary with you.” He must have seen you were unconvinced because he sighed, the motion rattling your body, still pressed against him. “I need an assistant, and you are my best option. You're respected and well-liked by your professors, they would let you get away with murder as long as you turned that sweet smile in their direction.” Law leaned down until his lips brushed against the shell of your ear. “You can get me into the morgue, Y/N-ya.”
This was wrong, you knew it deep down in your heart, but with Law so close to you, the smell of antiseptic and blood clogging your senses, you could hardly think. Once the project was over, Law would never give you the time of day again. He wasn’t the type of man who had friends. Colleagues, maybe, but not friends. If you agreed to be a part of his sick experiments, you wouldn’t have to leave him. Law would be stuck with you, bonded together by this secret. If you were his assistant, you could have him forever.
“Okay,” You said, still somewhat hollow. A tear slipped down your cheek when you pointed to your cat. “Just kill him. Put him out of his misery, I can’t stand to see him like this.”
“If that’s what you want.”
Without hesitation, Law stepped around you, scalpel in hand, and plunged it into your cat's skull. The twitching stopped. His body went slack, limp against the coffee table.
Law stood back and gave you a reassuring smile. “There. All better now.”
For a second, you let yourself believe him.

Milly took Richard to her home in the forest, the cities slowly disappear in the distance, I have to go to the cottage. There was an old man sitting outside rocking back-and-forth on the rocking chair. Richard looked confused, just a random old man sitting near her house? It must her father. Milly let him inside while the old man was sleeping, “who was that?” “My father” she answered him, not paying in mind to why he was so confused. She sent him inside to sleep on the couch so he could get some good night rest as it was close to night.
2 hours later….
Milly woke up to a banging downstairs. She ran down and she saw Richard and her father elder kettle fighting. Richard was trying to explain why he was in the house. Poor kettle thought Richard was trying to steal from him. Milly just watched for a few seconds before she decided to intervene. She moved her father away from Richard explaining to him that Richard was a guest. Elder kettle gave her the look. “No no it’s not like that father!” She try to explain, but kettle just had a stupid grin on his face while walking upstairs. “I’m so sorry about that. He’s a little crazy when he wakes up” “no no it’s fine” he answered back. To him and his mind it wasn’t fine He thought he just stepped into a house with a bunch of lunatics. And there was a weird scenery to the house. It was like an old antique shop of creepy things you wanna keep in your house. Especially the Doll on the piano that stared at him. He feel like that dog was alive screaming for help in her own way. “Would you like me to make some dinner?” Milly asked now that he thinks about it, her voice was very light, and sounded like she was awkward, but nervous, but knew what she was talking about at the same time. “Oh! Uh sure I wouldn’t mind” he answered politely.
How was he going to understand that he’s now living in a house with a bunch of mad people. Milly went into the kitchen making some chicken noodle soup, she didn’t exactly know what he liked and chicken noodle should be good for now. Now that she thinks about her home, she hated it. She hated the way was old. She hated the floorboards creaking every time you stepped on it. But she had to take care of her father of her, since her mother died tragically. If she moved out now, she will be all alone in the forest. Which is not ideal for a man his age. Now that she thinks about it, she doesn’t even know how old her father is. But she went back to making some classic homemade chicken noodle soup. She hated the can one she found it will repulsive. As Richard waited her mind started to wonder. Is this God’s way of sending her sign? Maybe Richard with her husband? But who won want to get knocked out by some homeless man the middle of the street? Not her. But now that she looked at him, he didn’t look that bad. The best part about his mug like features was that he is teal… more like sea foam, green teal. He looked funky and weird, but he was easy to look at on the eyes. She finished making the chicken noodle soup and served it. Without a second thought, Richard ate it. She looked down at him with pity. She wondered how long it’s been since he had a proper meal. Richard didn’t notice her looking down on him. He was too busy tearing up chicken noodle soup, his favorite.

Maylor: Pretty Boy (1)
Brian blushes darkly his eyes on Roger Taylor the most popular boy in the whole fucking school. He had a string of girls following after him, as they pass by one of the girls a brunet with pink streaks bumps into him making him knock into the lockers, "Watch it crater face."
Brian touches his acne ridden face and he looks away, "It's not that m-many."
Freddie slowly comes to his side, "Bri?"
"Is it that noticeable?"
"What?" Freddie asks.
"My acne." Brian spat a little because of his braces.
Freddie squints and looks at his face closely, "You have more freckles than anything."
Brian fixes his bun and sighs sadly, "I wish I was like Roger."
"Who would want to be him? He fucked the principal's daughter! Vandalized lockers! Cheats on tests!"
They didn't realize Roger was looking over at them a smirk on his face. He walks himself back over, "Look at me as I say this curly,"
Brian kept his eyes to the ground clutching his books tightly in his thin arms. He could smell Roger's cologne, it made him smell heavenly.
"You can't be like me. You're too much of a softie.''
"How!"
"You cried when the classroom snake died!" Roger tells him laughing, "You're a cry baby."
Freddie pushes Roger back from Brian, "Stay away from him or I'll let all of Eastwood know your secret."
Roger growls, "You wouldn't dare."
"One more bullying incident and the video is leaked." Freddie warns.
Roger hisses and stomps off like a pissed off cat, "What secret?" Brian asks as the two walk to lunch.
Freddie leans in real close Brian could feel his hot breath tickle his ear, "This college senior, John last name starts with an L, he fucked Roger, okay? And he filmed it and give me the link. I've being using it as blackmail against Roger the entire time, I'm untouchable."
Brian shivers and picks at a zit on his chin, "That's wrong."
"Do you want the link?"
Brian pauses he felt something tingle and he looks to his older friend. It would be nice to humiliate Roger for a bit to let him know the video is being shared around, "I want it." he promises to himself not to send it to anyone else, that it will be just for blackmail purposes he won't even watch it.
"Good boy." Freddie says wiping out his phone.
...
Roger stands in front of Ms. Green the new English teacher she's young fresh out of college teacher,
"Well, Ms. Green do I still have detention now?" he didn't mean to throw the dictionary at Paul Prenter but he's too stupid to duck. A kid did yell out duck and Paul asked where so that was his own fault.
Ms. Green is pressed against her desk panting she shakes her head and blushes as Roger fixes the buttons on her blouse, "Y-You may go, Mr. Taylor."
Roger winks at her, "See you Friday." he licks his lips and leaves. Once he made sure she couldn't see him, the blond took a mad dash into the bathroom, "Disgusting." he spits into the trashcan and rises his mouth with the tap water.
"Not doing that again." Roger huffs drying his face off.
"Hey, R-Roger."
It was that Richard kid, he typically ran errands for the Pauls, or that George kid, sometimes he even worked for Lennon.
"What, Dickie." Roger says pushing away from the sink and strolling to him.
Richard exits the men's room and so does Roger, Paul McCartney was waiting out there he was Lennon's current boyfriend along with the two Asian girlfriends Lennon was screwing.
Roger stands their confused, "May I help you two?"
"Paul wanted you." Richard tells him.
"And he couldn't of stepped in there with me why?"
"They're gross." Paul pipes in, "Now that curly and the Muslim kid he hangs out with,"
"Sir, Fred's not Mus-"
Paul snaps his fingers, "Sit, Richard."
Richard sits down his face flush with humiliation, "Now as I was saying before the dumbass got in the way curly and the Muslim kid are starting to get too nosy with you and the scandal you caused."
"John fucking me?" Roger whispers.
"Yes.. Yes..." Paul says snapping his fingers again to Richard.
The boy hands Paul his phone, "I know a way for you to get even with the Muslim kid and curly in involves the upcoming prom. Make them wish they never got involved, got it?"
"What's in it for me?" Roger asks.
"560£." Paul tells him, "All cash."
Roger lowers his head, "What do I have to do?"
"Well you have too," Paul leans in and whispers in his ear.
...
Two weeks later, Freddie is getting Brian ready for the dance once the final touches were done Brian asks, "Well how do I look?"
"Stunning." Freddie says clapping his hands.
"How do I look?" Freddie asks doing a little twirl for him.
"Very gorgeous." Brian says fixing his corsage, "If you were my type I would totally shower you with love and affection right now."
Freddie giggles pulling his closest friend into a tight bear hug, Brian snuggles into his neck he felt safe and the faint scent of his perfume was calming, "Are you ready?"
Brian nods grinning ear to ear this was the first prom he's ever gone to and it made him so happy. This is the most attention he's ever received, his parents practically forgot they had a son so interactions basically were yelling that he forgot to do a chore or for them to sign something for him.
Freddie kisses his forehead, "Come lets get to you car and go."
Brian nods and gets into his car, he drives to prom with Freddie good god he felt so nervous and sick. Freddie gives him a reassuring smile, "Hey don't worry. It'll be great, I even invited Deacon to come along!"
"John Deacon? Son to the priest guy? Good luck getting into John's pants tonight."
Freddie waves his hand knocking his handbag onto the floorboard, "I can get into anyone's pants. Just you wait."
Brian laughs rolling his eyes, "Don't be such a perv, Fred."
Freddie laughs picking up his bag, "Don't worry. I want to wait until he's legal."
Brian nods, "Waiting is good. "
They pull into the school parking lot and Brian felt his nerves get all jumbled. He let Freddie lead the way he freezes spotting Roger Taylor, he looked so hot.
Brian felt his mouth water, "D-Damn he cleans up well."
"Yeah but he doesn't know how to dress formal." Freddie chuckles going over to his Johnny.
Brian blushes darkly as Roger walks over. Roger looks down at his hand, squints then looks to Brian, "Hello, Brian. Care to dance?" there was a tone in his voice that made him feel weak.
"Y-Yeah." Brian takes Roger's hand as he leads him to the dance floor.
A group of girls glare at Brian as he's pulled along and he shudders a little. He feels bad for the girls they probably waited the whole school term to dance with him and here comes a ugly ass nerd getting their only chance.
It was like Roger can read his mind, "Don't think about them. You're my only right now. Let me focus on your beauty."
Brian nearly faints he's never been talked to like this before. He takes his time dancing with Roger even as he steps on the poor boy's feet, "It's okay." Roger says, "I wasn't good either when I first started. Hell Im still not that good."
Roger was amazing at dancing it put Brian to shame.
They finished dancing and got to talking more at their table. Soon the prom king and queen voting cards were passed around. Brian knew he wouldn't win that's a fantasy, some cliche fanfiction but he couldn't help but dream of the crown on his hand and the warmth of Roger holding his waist. He was snapped out of his daydream by him and Roger being announced as the prom kings a first for their school.
He smiles at the crowd as they clap for them. He holds the flowers close to him he saw Freddie giving him the thumbs up as John beams at him. This was the best night of his life, he would never forget it.
Roger kisses him on the stage and Brian melts into his arms. They are taken off the stage quickly after that, Roger keeps snogging him in the back of the room, he grabs Brian's ass making the boy blush darkly.
"You're still a virgin aren't ya?" Roger asks nipping at his neck.
Brian grips onto his bicep and pants, "Y-Yeah." he didn't really know why Roger brought that up.
"Why don't we have some fun?" Roger asks teasingly.
Brian finally realizes what Roger meant. And thought back to Freddie he did sleep with Paul Prenter before, he decided to go with it.
Roger takes his wrist and leads him out of the gym and into the empty science classroom, "Get undressed, baby." he licks his lips eyeing him through his sunglasses.
"R-Right here?" Brian asks shyly.
Roger started to feel like shit. He was truly falling for Brian and that dorky smile of his with those big blue braces he couldn't go on with the prank, "No, I want your first time in my house."
Roger rushes him out and drives to Brian's place with the guide of Brian. He presses Brian against the close door and kisses him, "Your love is with more than any money anyone could give me. I love you.''
Brian blushes darkly his whole face redder than a fire truck, he was feeling so many new things it was all a rush, "I-I love you too."
They rush to Brian's room where Roger undresses quickly leaving him in his briefs, Roger lays him on the bed he wanted to chuckle at how dorky Brian's room was but he felt like he shouldn't this is what made his Brian, his Brian. Roger kisses him again undressing him slowly pressing heated kisses throughout his bare body, "Can I take these off?" Roger asks thumbing the waistband of Brian's Star Trek theme boxers.
Brian covers his face embarrassed, "Y-Yes." if he would of know he was going to score tonight he would of gone with a plain pair.
Roger uncovers him he smiles softly, "You're beautiful, Brian. Truly a beauty."
Brian blushes darkly he felt his arousal grow more and a needy whine leaves his lips, "R-Roggie.~"
Roger pulls a travel size bottle of lube from his jacket pocket on the floor, "Hold on. Let me prep you."
"W-What should I do?" Brian asks.
"Spread your legs apart." Roger instructs him, "And let me do the work."
Brian does as told gripping onto his pillow tightly as Roger presses a finger into his tight heat. The curly haired boy tosses his head back and groans. It hurt badly, it stung, it felt so uncomfortable. He waited until Roger was trying to scissor him that he couldn't take it anymore, "S-Stop, Roger."
Roger stops, "Want me to remove my fingers?"
Brian nods and sniffles, "S-Sorry for ruining our night."
"You weren't ready and that's totally fine." Roger says cleaning him up gingerly, ''I can wait for it."
Brian snuggles into his chest letting himself be held in Roger's strong arms, "Thank you for being understanding."
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Roger tells him kissing his head holding him close and loving on him.
Little did Roger know is Paul carried on the plan and got all the footage he needed to blackmail Brian and Freddie, next week at school will be hell for them.

so im rereading toa (for context i only read like 1.5 of the books a while back but now im determined to read the whole series) and i don’t plan on like live-blogging it but i did want to mention one thing
apollo, upon realizing how his mortal body actually looks, is appalled to see acne and ‘flab/love handles’. of course, his disgust is played up for comedy and it’s very 2016-ish (richard riordan im in your floorboards etc)
but later on when he and meg visit percy, sally says he and Percy are around the same clothing size…
now i know that while percy is described as more and more handsome & powerful as the books go on, he does not have eight-pack abs (as much as people in fandom like to think he’s shredded, lol)
that being said, as someone who has had body image issues myself it just made me feel better to connect those dots, even if the character is fictional and the connection unintentional. percy jackson, the titular hot guy of the series, has probably just an average build with ‘flab/love handles’. at least to me, anyways.
