I was talking to my friend earlier about dps and how it was the perfect movie to watch when you're utterly depressed (or want to be)
So I was talking about seizing the day and care diem and all that jazz. But half way through the movie, she said, "wHoS gONna HaVe tHe sEiZUre??"

HIPHOP is Such a competitive sport. But, why? no other genre of music creates a seperation from its younger artist to the older artist. so, why HIPHOP? Im nobody to have a universal answer, all i can do is speak my opinion. with that said, my opinion is; its a matter of where it came from. HIPHOP came from hunger and opportunity. You take that, and the chance to get out of the current situation, not many humans will sit back and watch the world around them create opportunity…nope, gonna stick their hand in the grease as well. Who can blame em…unfortunately, EVERYBODY cant chase and share the same dream. In most urban neighborhoods, the youth dont see real life examples of scholars. And the few that do become scholars, normally be on the first thing smokin away from the hell they once knew. Battle Rap…that comes from hunger…and tapping in to that dark place. Those who cant, normally arent good…js. A young Kobe Bryant wanted every veterans shine…if u were in his path, u were at his mercy. Same mentality to a young rapper. BUT, since HIPHOP is getting older, we are in good hands with Older artist swords still being sharp and delivering great material today. With Hov, Diddy, 2Chains getting up there in age, I cant see them slowing down or stepping away from the culture EVER..let alone soon. Stay tuned, A NEW STANDARD IN HIPHOP IS SOON TO COME.
ROSES represents Timeless Talent. You are NEVER TOO OLD TO BE GREAT AT ANYTHING. Normally, the older the better…why not HIPHOP?…o, it is..”.YA JUST NOT RECOGNIZIN” (Madd Rapper voice) This tape shines light on our Legends who are still very much relevant and making good material. LETS GIVE EM ROSES BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.
RIP NYPSEY, MAC MILLER, PRODIGY, BIG, PAC, PUN, SEAN PRICE, just to name a few…REST UP!!

ROSES HIPHOP is Such a competitive sport. But, why? no other genre of music creates a seperation from its younger artist to the older artist.

Story:
This story takes place at Welton Academy, a Catholic all-boys preparatory boarding school, which upholds discipline, excellence, tradition and honour, since 1859 when the school first opened. The school is meant to prepare students from well to do families for future Ivy League education. The movie follows the lives of several students who share similar classes, most importantly English class, where a new teacher, Mr. Keating, an alumni of the school, has just started teaching. To many of the students, the school is torturous, to which they’ve nicknamed the school’s four pillars as “Travesty. Horror. Decadence. Excrement.” (Haft et al., 2006). At the same time a new student, Todd Anderson, has just joined the school, which his brother, Jeffrey, was a prior student at. His brother was an excellent and highly accomplished student, which has put Todd in the position of “having big shoes to fill” as the principal, Dr. Nolan, states at the beginning of the movie and school year.
Todd is boarded up in the same room as Neil Perry. Neil is an accomplished student from a middle class but not highly wealthy family, whose father has high expectations of him becoming a doctor. Neil however has a passion for acting which his controlling father rejects. Their room is across from fellow classmates: Stephan Meeks, Gerard Pitts, Charlie Dalton, Knox Overstreet, and Richard Cameron. The movie follows the lives of some of these students closer than others, like Overstreet’s love interest with Chris Noel, Todd’s struggle to stand out, and even Dalton’s constant need to swim against the tide.
Mr. Keating is a very unique teacher, who asks to be referred to as “O Captain, My Captain,” and begins his first class with the boys on a lesson on Carpe Diem – seizing the day and making their lives extraordinary. Another lesson includes ripping out the introduction of the class’s poetry textbook because it attempts to formulate a way of calculating how great a piece of poetry can be. Keating asks the students to rip out the introduction because he wants the students to be able to “think for themselves again” and he wants them “to savour words and language,” while understanding that poetry isn’t done “because it’s cute, we do it because we are members of the human race which is filled with passion.” Other lessons include: having each student climb onto the teacher’s desk “to remind them that we must constantly look at things in a different way;” forcing students to read their own poetry out loud in class, while forcing Todd particularly to make his own poem on the spot, based on the appearance of Walt Whitman; having the students play soccer, particularly reading a piece of poetry before kicking a ball; and having students march in the courtyard to teach them to “swim against the stream,” and “maintain their own beliefs, despite their need for acceptance, ultimately, trusting in their unique beliefs.”
Keating also encourages the group of students listed above to participate in an undercover school group, named the Dead Poets Society. Although knowing that sneaking off campus without parental and school notice is forbidden and can lead to expulsion, these students sneak off in the middle of the night to a cave to read poetry. In this group the students are able to explore their identities, bond with one another, and explore their passion for poetry, and ultimately, life.
The movie ends with the aftermath of Neil Perry’s death. Neil commits suicide after his father rejects his passion for acting and exclaims that he will prolong Neil’s education and send him to “Braden Military School” to prevent him from “ruining his life,” adding ten years onto his academic career. While Neil’s friends are mourning the loss of their friend, the school begins investigating the occurrences that may have led to Neil’s death, on behalf of his father. Cameron tells Dr. Nolan, the principal, everything about the Dead Poet’s Society, stating that he and the other students are “the victims” and that Mr. Keating “put us all up to it,” and he does this to save himself from receiving the brunt of repercussions. This infuriates Dalton, who assaults Camron and is expelled. Anderson, along with the others, agree to sign a document while being coerced by Dr. Nolan and their parents which states that, “Mr. Keating encouraged the boys to organize this club and use it as a source of inspiration for reckless and self-indulgent behaviour and that Mr. Keating, in and out of the classroom, encouraged Neil to follow his obsession with acting when he knew all along it was against the explicit orders of Neil’s parents, blatantly abusing his position as a teacher, leading directly to Neil Perry’s death.” As Mr. Keating goes to collect his final few personal belongings, most of his students climb onto their desk as a means to show solidarity with their ‘Captain,’ against their new substitute teacher Dr. Nolan, who Todd pronounces as a coercer into having him sign the document labelling Keating as culpable for Neil’s death.

The Heroes of Tomorrow
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” — Joseph Campbell
Nobody likes to be called the hero.
Because when someone calls you a hero the challenges become greater, they become more daunting. They become these nightmarish things. Because heroes, see, they challenge themselves--always, and when they succeed they are looked at as ideals. And why not, right? I mean, they're brave, strong and always trying hard to do the right thing in whatever situation they're placed in. They're full of heart. But yeah, I know, they don't like to be called heroes because people like that, I mean, they have humility. Some of you might either nod in approval or disapproval, but everyone I've met, for better or worse, have been heroes, and still are. At least to me. Because, see, some of you have met characters in life that are just downright...evil.
But what I've learned these past months, about others and--more importantly--about myself--is that we need to see people as they can be, not as they are. But it's difficult to see what they can be when they act so weak. But when it comes to me, I see the hero in them, whoever they are. Like there was this one kid, scared for his life about a class he was taking. He told me how intense it is, how miserable it is. Told me how he failed all previous tests, hard. And the chances of him passing the class were extremely slim. In the end, he dropped the course. But he didn't accept failure. He did anything but that. He accepted a victory, it's what I told him--and I stand firmly by those words.
If he failed, if he truly failed...then a bullet would've been lodged deep into his head. But he didn't do that. He was there, talking to me. I told him to see it as a victory, a fiery obstacle of life he walked through and came out changed for the better. Yeah, he came out of that fire with blood pouring and scarred skin against the flesh of his memories--but it's the kind of story that inspires us. Everyone loves seeing the hero reach out in the midst of any type of herculean conflict. Because it's what heroes do. They fail and fail-- fail a hundred, million times but they find a way to overcome whatever failure destiny lunges at them. And if they can't find a way then they create one. They build a way to make themselves greater. They use their anger and sadness and fear as fuel to finish whatever job they have. Heroes, they say, can fail hundreds--maybe thousands of times but they won't falter. Not in the long run. Because if they ever do, when they do...then it's no different than burying a grave for yourself.
This kid, he tells me how I saved his life. I counter by saying that I saved a part of him, not the whole. I did my part, he did the rest. But to know that I did my part--that I made someone better, stronger, braver--if just for a moment... It’s pretty. But it's also inspiring, and it keeps me going. But why challenge yourself again and again if you're in fear of failing anytime soon? Because when we challenge ourselves we discover something in us that we never thought was real. We discover a greater part of ourselves--of who we are. And failing...it gives us a chance--a choice, to either become greater or to become weaker--while being victorious gives us the choice to be as we are or to be greater than what we are currently. Because there's always more to you, you can be better, you can push farther, you can be stronger. I know it in my heart.
It saves a part of me when I hear people tell me that--that I saved a part of them, and it reminds me of my form, my being in this little place called Earth. And it's what I'm good at, I think: lifting people from their own ashes and expecting nothing in return. Not because it's awesome to see them rise and not because of folly recognition. No. But because it's the right thing. A simple lesson your parents taught you as a kid. And a lesson you taught me in some way. And it's so amazing to see the person you've helped inspire others because of your touch. Because of you, heroes exist. Yes, you. Listen, life is pointless, that's the truth. But what matters is that we're here and that we are alive. That we’re making our mark, and hope others will follow by it on good, more greater, more inspiring terms when we return to the earth.
I love making people realize how heroic they are inside, how beautiful it is to tell them to not be afraid to show it, that heroism. I especially love it when people, friends, and family, tell me how I make them believe in heroes again.
It's wondrous to see the skies filled with so many of them, all with their different capes and suits, bright colors, each of them with their own mission to make the world a better place for the next generation of heroes.
Remember, it always starts with someone that's in despair. But it's about lifting each other up, and making them (and yourself) realize the dangers ahead before it's too late. We’re in this together.
I'm a hero, and I'm sure you're one, too. Not in the cocky kind of sense, but in a team-building kind of sense. I accept whatever nightmare life hurls at me, and you're ready to accept it, too. Because you're brave, willing, good of heart, strong of mind. Seriously, with the purest sincerity, whoever read this in its entirety, know that you inspire me--and it’s because of you that I’ve helped the people that I have so far.
Yes, you: Julio C. Tapia, Sara Perez, Sunkin Duarte, Arely Santamaria, Ann Wettengel Wood, Jacqui Hernandez, James and Stephanie Williams, Justin Hallman, Juan Nuñez, Erica Barrientos, Maritza Irene, Lupita Reyna, Steven Reyes, Korina Reyna, Andrew Vũ, Deborah Boston--the entire Trimble Tech class of 2015, Valerie Lopez, Antonio Giovanni, Camron Sanders, Jillian Hilton Blakeman, Raven Parker, Emanuel Grande, Michael Chau, Norberto Martinez, Erica Rios, Wendy Larmour, Kate Anderson, Alexandria Hill, Beatriz Salas, Macara Trusty, Brandon Lewis, Adriana Salas, Roberto Abraham, Jhonathan Rodriguez, Mike Kessler, Omar Ramos, Marylee Garcia, Shanell Diaz, Jorge Salas, Erin Backus, Ayesha Baba, Johana Lopez Gonzalez, Jovany Mendoza, Larry Boston, Daniela Salas, Marlene Vega, Javier Gomez, Jason Juarez, Ulises, Adonis, Rubi Sykes, Chelsea Hernandez, Zayda Trejo, Alex Henson, Mark Ramos, Duc Tran, Vy Nguyen, Lizbeth Ramirez, Miguel Angeles, Gerardo Hernandez, Christopher Sloan, Brayan Sanchez, Joshua Hernandez, Leonardo Mendez, Geronimo Perez, Dave Ruffin, Magaly Ceceñas, Miguel Martinez, Kasha Barber, Zayda Torres, Eric Rubio, Erica, Carlos, Jenny Contreras, Richard, Melanie Alvarez, Isaiah, Crystal Delgado, Edgar Ramirez, Odayls, Vanessa, Shanti, Miguel Angeles and Samantha Pacheco.
We all live simple, ordinary lives. But it's what makes us relate to one another's suffering. To understand that if one gets through it then we can all get through it. Together. Now let's get off our knees and brim the world with so much hope and optimism that we'll put those superheroes we find in comic books to shame (and hey, I'm a lover of superhero comics--it’s the little kid in me).
So, come on, be the hero.
Up, up, and away!
Dedicated to the heroes of today.

Penn State and Oklahoma are off to hot recruiting starts
Welcome to The Crootletter (sign up to get this in your inbox every morning!), SB Nation's daily college football recruiting newsletter.
SB Nation spent the weekend in Orlando for the Nike Opening Regional Camp, and will have much more on Florida’s top prospects in the coming days. Let’s get caught up on all the weekend’s news.
Penn State currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, and SB Nation’s Alex Kirshner took a look at how that start could be sustained.
Any player who’s committed now has a chance to not be committed next February — or next December, if the NCAA moves ahead and creates an early signing period. Decommitments are part of business.
But Penn State’s considerable depth makes for a big head start. No one has more than Penn State’s 11 commitments, and only four teams have reached double digits.
A small handful of teams has a higher average player rating than Penn State’s 93.10, but none with nearly as many players in the fold. Penn State’s already given itself real breathing room with the best mix of quality and quantity so far assembled anywhere.
And Penn State QB commit Justin Fields was the best QB at the Orlando Opening event, earning an invite to Nike’s The Opening Finals in late June. He is also an excellent baseball prospect.
SB Nation’s Richard Johnson took a look at how Oklahoma took advantage of the struggles of Texas and Texas A&M on the recruiting trail. The Sooners also grabbed a pair of 2019 receiver recruits
Xavier Thomas, the No. 1 defensive end in the nation, said some very nice things about Clemson, South Carolina, and Alabama to SB Nation.
Florida State athlete commitment Justin Watkins may be on the verge of flipping to the Texas Longhorns, thanks to the lure of early playing time.
Miami landed two commits this week. One from in-state, three-star safety Randy Russell, and the other from four-star RB Camron Davis.
Florida State received verbal commits from four-star DE Stacy Kirby and three-star defensive end Kayode Oladel. The Seminoles have a top-five recruiting class.
Cal fans can breathe easy as it seems four-star QB Adrian Martinez is happy with his pledge to the Golden Bears.
Minnesota landed a verbal from three-star 2018 QB Brennan Armstrong.
Quick release, decisive with his throws and plays with toughness...this is exactly the type of quarterback for Fleck. Not much more to be said, but I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see him starting early in his career. This is a great fit and a talented kid. Expect that by the time National Signing Day rolls around next February, Armstrong will be a 4-star recruit with other schools making a push to flip him.
Also we get a chance to look at coach P.J. Fleck’s dark knight gopher recruiting graphic.

Washington’s big junior day was highlighted by the attendance of four-star WR Marquis Spiker.
Illinois legacy and IMG Academy four-star DB prospect Houston Griffith still has the Illini on the board, and that’s a good sign.
The consternation is still there for LSU’s recruiting class, but the Tigers grabbed a handful of verbals this weekend.
Four-star WR Micah Jones committed to Notre Dame.
