The Givenchy Rottweiler print, first seen in the Fall/Winter 2011 collection while under the direction of Riccardo Tisci, became a symbol of the early 2010s and an exemplary design from Tisci’s tenure. Inspired by his fascination with the interplay between ferocity and elegance, the motif featured a snarling Rottweiler rendered with hyperrealistic detail.
Among the pieces featuring this design was the Antigona Tote bag, with a juxtaposition between its structured, minimalist silhouette and the aggressive imagery of the print. The Antigona Tote itself, named after Antigone from Greek mythology, was already a symbol of modern luxury. The addition of the Rottweiler graphic elevated the bag into an unforgettable statement piece.
