74: Young and Menace - Fall Out Boy
51: Visitor - Of Monsters and Men
A wide spectrum here lmao. Also, apparently I'm in the top 0.5% of Fall Out Boy listeners......... 2 years running. *I don't think I listen to that much Fall Out Boy, but here we are.*

Discord Server
Hi everyone!! I've been on and off of tumblr *forever*, but I've found that I really enjoy using discord for community-based stuff. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining a new writing server?? Or if there are any that you know about and would recommend?

13 for the Spotify wrapped ask!
Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol
This was a very funny pick. The song became a little bit of an inside joke in my friend group this year, where every time one of us heard it we'd tell the group chat and all kind of (: 💕✨❤️ about it. I just think it's neat that this is the first one I got asked about. Haha

hey, im so sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does one make a writeblr? like, what to do? where to start? where to publish the works? could you please help with the basics? thank you
Hi! It’s totally not a dumb question. It was scary for me to start this blog up at first, so it’s totally understandable that you’d be curious.
I guess the absolute basic is figure out whether you want a sideblog or a main blog for writing. I love this blog and I’ve put a lot of work into it, but it’s a sideblog, so I can’t leave asks for my friends or comments on posts from this blog, it’s always from my main, which can get a bit confusing if someone doesn’t know what my main blog is. That’s why I always sign my asks to other people with - Rhiannon. So if you want to figure out real basics, use a sideblog if you want everything connected and easily accessible, but use a main blog if you want separation, which I would have preferred, but everyone is different!
After that, what I started doing is following a bunch of other writeblrs. I looked at what they did. I commented on their projects and tried to get involved in tag games. I reblogged any resources that I thought would be helpful for me later, and I cataloged them really specifically so that I could find stuff later. I started posting information about my projects and my process and my characters, which don’t get as much traction as the other stuff, but I still try to do it anyway. So where to start your blog? Follow people. Try to make friends. Get involved in tag games or Storyteller Saturday. Save resources that could help you, because maybe they could help other people. And once you feel comfortable post your own writings! Rant about a plot point you’re stuck on and ask for help from other writers! Start a trend where you create moodboards or a specific poetry style for a project or a character. The sky is the limit, but if your scared, it’s okay to start off quietly. (Another tip for finding writeblrs and resources and stuff is to follow tags. Writing resources, writing help, writeblr, writers of tumblr, sci-fi [if thats your genre], etc.)
I don’t totally understand what you mean by where to publish your works? I know a lot of writeblrs are writing novels to work towards traditional publishing, and that’s a big rabbithole I’m really not qualified to speak on right now. Others are working on self publishing, either through programs like ingram sparks or kindle direct publishing. I haven’t actually put any books out that way either. Others are writing for wattpad or ao3 or a number of other free online sites. Even more still are simply writing for tumblr, especially poetry blogs and the like. If you want to post a full novel, chapter by chapter, right here? There are people who will read it. But in my little corner of the community, most people are publishing excerpts and things like that, with the eventual plan to publish a full book for purchase.
I hope this answered some of your basic questions? The question is pretty broad, so I have trouble answering specifics, but if you or anyone else has any further questions then I’ll be happy to answer as soon as I can!

9, 11, or 16 are all really cute! You don’t have to do them all ofc lol. Happy writing!
Thank you so much for requesting! It was a fun challenge to make them work together in a way that I thought made sense. This was cute, and we love to see Cas being the trickster fae that he is. Very different vibe to the last one. This one is fluffy and sweet and I could definitely see it in their epilogue. I hope you enjoy!!
*~*~*~*~*
“Casimir do you have any idea what has happened outside?”
“Whatever it is I didn’t do it.” He said, with even a second thought. He looked up from his work in the kitchen and grinned at me like he knew something I didn’t, which of course, he did.
He was cooking, which meant he must have thought I would be truly wrathful.
“Oh surely you didn’t. You would never cause trouble, would you?”
He turned back to the vegetables he was cutting with a casual shrug. “Of course, Mara. I’m a domesticated man. I live only to make your life easier.”
I laughed out loud, leaning my back against the counter and smacking his shoulder on the way. “Do you? Truly? That’s certainly not what I’ve been thinking.”
“No? What have you been thinking?”
“Only that you live to make me a madwoman. How did you even-”
He put down the knife, and moved in front of me, gripping the counter on either side of me so that I could not escape. I crossed my arms. I would not be swayed. Not even when he looked at me like that.
“Perhaps I drive you a bit mad.” He said, tucking a curl behind my ear. “But what else could you expect from me? I am but a simple man,” I scoffed, “With a beautiful wife, who I love so dearly.”
“Are you-Are you flirting with me? Now?”
“Is it working?”
“No.” I lied. He saw through me, and I felt the smile creep across my face, despite my best efforts.
He leaned in towards me, whispering in my ear “I’m going to kiss you now, if that is quite alright.”
I rolled my eyes and pulled him in for a kiss, breaking us apart once to say, “I’m still cross with you,” and again to say “You’re getting it off the roof this time. I won’t climb up there again.”
“Deal.” He replied, and we kissed again. And again. And again. And everything felt as if it was the way that should be.

Looking for someone to ask sensitivity questions?
Hey guys! I'm looking for writers who are POC, specifically black, who would be willing to answer a few questions regarding my current WIP and a black character. I'm a white woman, and just don't want to assume that I have all of the answers. If anyone is interested in lending me an ear, comment here or DM me! I'll explain the full situation.

Hey there. I love your advices. Can I ask a question, how can we write LGBTQ stories. There is this novel I am working on about the same and I want to know know how can we write about Transgender characters. Advice please!
Hi! I'm so glad that you like my content.
I try to include LGBTQ+ representation in most of my stories, both because representation is always really important, but also because I'm bi and I like to feel seen in the media that I consume, so I like to provide that for others.
On that note, though, I'm not trans! So I would recommend that when you're looking to write a trans character, you reach out to trans writers, or even trans friends who aren't involved in the writing world and, if they're comfortable, you ask them questions as it relates to your story. And then once you've finished, you send your story to sensitivity readers who are trans, and they might pick up on things or offer a perspective that you'd never even considered before, because you've never seen it through the lens of their life perspective.
There's never anything wrong with doing research. Typically, people appreciate the want to educate yourself and be respectful, and will help you out!
Last thing, I think that it's important to remember that, as far as I have heard, it's awesome to write stories with diverse casts, even if you aren't a part of those groups, but can be disrespectful to write stories about being diverse. I know that seems confusing, but in practice that means writing about an MC who is a superhero or a wizard or a college student that is trans and goes through a plot involving saving people, doing magic, or going to classes, is awesome. Them being trans can, and should come up. But if you aren't trans, don't write a story revolving around a trans character that experiences transphobia and learns to cope with it over the course of the story. Those stories are great, and necessary, but it's better left to someone who has been there and experienced those things.
So, in summary, talk to people. Trans writers, trans readers, and trans friends. You can reach out to your local LGBT center to see if they have resources or contacts. You can make a post asking for perspectives from people who are trans on social media. You can even Google specifics or general situations, just to get a baseline for situations that you're writing about. Putting representation of marginalized groups, like trans men, trans women, non-binary people, and everyone else on the gender spectrum is awesome. Sometimes there's no better feeling than seeing someone just like you go on an adventure and save the world. I'm so glad this is something that youre willing to look into and write respectfully!
If anyone knows of resources, or a masterpost of resources about writing LGBTQ+ characters, specifically transgender characters, feel free to share it here, or DM it to me and I'll reblog it!

the moon & high priestess :)
The Moon: I have written a love letter! I actually sometimes have a very hard time expressing love verbally, but I’m very good at writing about it. My last girlfriend was wonderful and I wrote her several love letters, poems, etc. and it was just really nice for the both of us. 10/10 would do again, for the right person. :)
High Priestess: I think it really depends on the context of the date. I’m very domestic, so I’d be most comfortable doing like a weekend long movie marathon or something, in pajamas and eating popcorn. But dates aren’t always about being comfortable. Sometimes the best way to bond is by doing something new or difficult. I love road trips, so maybe one of those random destination games where you roll a dice to see where you end up, then eat at the first restaurant you find? That has always seemed really cool to me. Or maybe like building something. IKEA is my jam. (I’m actually redoing my bedroom right now!!) So something like that could also be fun. Maybe I’m boring or too home-based, but that’s just how I am! I’m pretty easy to please.

For the ask game: strength?
My dream job would be a novelist.I love writing, that’s why I’m here running this blog, even though it’s very difficult to do, even harder to do well, and even harder than that to make a living off of. I also hope to one day be a foster parent. I’ve been through some rough times myself and hope that one day I can offer a place of shelter to someone else who needs it like I did.

Hey Guys!
I've been AWOL for a while. Almost a year, I think. This school year has been a lot for me and I wasn't fully prepared for how intense my workload would be. I was thinking of just deactivating this blog because it had been forever but I saw that a lot of you had stuck around, even though I hadn't been doing anything. Like several thousand.
I hope you all know that I'm honored you're all still here!!
I figured quarantine was the perfect time to start this back up again. I'll be going through and clearing out my drafts and askbox and such over the next few days! I can't make any promises about staying active after I go back to in-person school, which will probably start May 1, but I'm going to put in my best effort.
A few updates from the last time you heard from me! I started a Dungeons and Dragons club at my school, which has been my main source of stress relief. A play that I wrote was a finalist in a statewide competition. It got like 13th out of 615 plays. I've started a new WIP, and I'll be updating my WIP page to reflect that. It's a fantasy romance novel. Pretty excited. I just right in and hit a roadblock though, so I'm going back to the outline phase! I've tackled a few other projects in the time that I've been gone, but been unhappy with all of them. I've just been deeply, deeply drained from my long days and haven't felt creative at all until I got this time to sit at home and be alone.
I hope everyone is doing well with all of the chaos. Thanks again for sticking around all this time. You're really the best. ❤️

the star??
I’ve seen lots actually! I’m pagan, and I was raised pagan so I’ve seen my fair share of psychics. Some were silly roadside shops that were very much a scam but kinda fun to see with a friend, and others were well respected spiritual healers that did readings for me because I knew a friend of a friend or something. Also, I do some divination in my own practice, but not enough that I’d ever call myself a psychic, haha.

Happy STS! Do you usually come up with a plot concept or a character concept first?
Hey! Happy Storyteller Saturday! (Don’t know if it still counts, because it’s 1AM, the next day, but hey, semantics.)
It really depends, but I’m going to be real with you I start with the weirdest stuff when I’m starting a story I swear. I have a photographic memory, and I’m a pretty visual thinker, so fairly often it’s be an image that pops into my head. For example, I had the image of a little black dragon chasing a little white dragon around a room full of teenagers just pop into my head one day. That eventually spiraled out of control and I build the world, plot, and characters of The Academy around that image I had in my head. And then I didn’t even end up including that scene!
For my current project, I was inspired by a D&D character that I made. I just fell in love with what I had for her, and realized that I didn’t even want to play a game with her anymore. I didn’t want her to be a part of a DM’s story, I wanted to write her story. And then I did! Now the protagonist is a good bit different than she was in D&D form, but the point still stands!
When I was working on my Evil Queen story I was reading something about mothers in fiction and specifically disney, and I was inspired to write about a fairytale mom, from her perspective. The Evil Queen seemed like an obvious choice, so I had the plot and then I built from there!
I know that wasn’t one of the options, really? But I hope this kinda shows that 1. My concepts and project beginnings are completely all over the place, and 2. I do a little bit of both of those options, depending on the project!
