❝of course it's me. who else would it be?❞ though rhett could completely get not believing everything you see in huntsville. there was a lot of factors that prevented someone from believing everything that they see. it's also not like he'd come talk to her or they'd had any contact since that hot summer together. rhett hadn't thought he'd see her anywhere than maybe a tv screen ever again. ❝nah, it's really me. believe it or not, i grew up here.❞ he shook his head and chuckled at the irony of him running away only to be stuck back there forever. ❝so, hot stuff, how'd you end up trapped in west virginian hell?❞

Reyna's breath caught in her throat when she turned around and saw Rhett standing there. She'd seen him around but considering everything she hadn't been sure if she should approach or not. Their relationship had been short but intense that summer in Florida, but she genuinely thought she'd never see him again. So realizing he was in town had come as a shock.

"It's really you! Oh my gosh," she said with a nervous giggle. "Wow! I honestly wasn't sure if it could be you when I saw you in passing a few times. I thought my brain was playing tricks on me." That had happened a few times before her meltdown and time in rehab.
