New Discord Scam Going Around

Ok so I'm making this post because I almost got completely scammed on there and I just want to mention what to do.

Essentially you just get a message from an infected user in your friend's list and they'll start out very casually. Then they go on about how they accidentally reported you for fraud and that you need to talk to someone from "support". they'll have a fake email attached to it.

They'll then go on to tell you that you need to add a guy called Rhys Davis

The nastiest part is how casually yet urgently they'll talk to you. Do not do what I did and even give them the light of day. Unfortunately, they're really good at what they do, and of course I started to panic and immediately messaged him.

I won't go too much into it but he'll tell you to change your email to one he generates and then log out. Then he'll hold it for ransom at a very small time frame. This is how I lost my account but thankfully no money because that's when I realized it was just a scam.

Here's how to get your account back if you lost it

To get your account back, go to the official discord website and submit a support ticket with the original email and they'll do the work for you. It's actually really fast and when you get your account it'll be temporarily suspended. Thankfully I got to it quick enough for it to not message much people who i didn't already get a friend to warn to.

Just making this to try to help anyone out there, since its super insidious.

Black older parents can be such bullies in the workplace. I just remembered an exchange I had with a colleague back when I started working. I was 21, she was well within her 40s & would always infantilise us because we were juniors. All juniors were scared of her. One day…

She got to the office & started with her nasty remarks. If she was not sending juniors around, she was passing remarks like “Ndimdala kuni. Ndilingana no mama benu” (I’m your elder and your mothers’ peer) just to intimidate them. The target was us, black kiddos.

So this day, she yells “Nzawumbi, it’s your turn to get us lunch today”. I was sitting in my desk and minding my own business. I mised her because clearly that was all in her head. She walked towards my desk and said “Siyevana”. I looked at her and said “That’s not happening”…

She asked “Haybo! Why?”. I said “Because I’m not here to buy you lunch and fetch your laundry ma’am & as an HR person, you should know this”. She then said “but others do it moss, why not you” I said, “well Im not others and you can continue to order them around, NOT ME”…🤷🏽‍♂️

She got so agitated with me & walked up to my desk wiggling her finger on some “Your contract is coming to an end ke sana. We will see”. I said, “My contract renewal, is not up to you as HR Admin. My editors will decide on my fate & sis ### you are incriminating urself😊”.

She was not the smartest yet the loudest. She realised that she was now going to make it difficult to get rid of me, even if that was her plan. She had incriminated herself and there were witnesses. She angrily looked at me and said “Masingaphendulani” (Don’t talk back)…

I calmly looked at her, as I grabbed my diary and coffee mug and said “Kanti sizophendulana” (I will definitely talk back). She lost it. Yelling and calling me names. I stood at the door, smiling and said “Carry on ma’am 😊”. My editor heard the altercation and came.

Other interns were so scared, they exclaimed here as there but were also scared the dragon lady would bite their heads off. My boss asked “What’s going on”. I looked at her and said “I’m standing up to a bully”. HR lady screamed “Uphambene! Ndiyi bully mna Rhaa”. I said “Yes”.

She took of her andrioli she and threw it towards me. 😂😂

That’s when I knew, we had been dealing with a mad person all along. My boss was so shocked 😳. She literally held her and said “### what are you doing. STOP”. I looked her in the eye and said “You don’t scare me, and I will not be intimidated by you”. My manager was so confused and asked what had happened. Did this lady not lie and say “ I was joking with other kids Diane and he just insulted me”. Before I could say anything my peers interject & said “She is lying. Haybo”. 😂😂

It was evident who the problem was. She was taken to her office & we were asked to give them space. An investigation was held, she was suspended for a week & later returned to work with an apology to me. I rejected it & asked that she rather writes an apology to all staff.

She indeed wrote an e-mail to all staff apologising for her conduct and had a paragraph where she apologised to me. I accepted her apology. She was then ordered not to have any verbal exchange with us and go through our editors for any work related requests (if any)…

That was the end of her reign as “ the office bully of the year.” She never interacted with us again and at times would not even greet us. We didn’t care. She was a non-entity. By the way my contract was renewed because I was good at my work & worked well with others…

stealing this from my twitter but hooooly shit dude. Armand is all about controlling others because in life he had nothing to his named and was used an object. he hates it when things change, even when it would be beneficial to himself and other vampires, because the ancient rules are the only order he can fall back on. theyre the only things that "cannot change" and therefore that should be the way all vampires should behave. like when he first meets Lestat he Hates him not because of an actual slight, but because he doesnt bind himself to the same rules Armand has been pushed into for centuries because "thats how things are meant to be and continue to be" and yet. this only creates things to crumble around him over and over again (the rome coven, the paris coven, his relationship with Louis) because he cant stand others not following the same rules he has comfort in. he kept trying to convince Louis to join the coven even when he didnt want to because if he cant be free then no one else can and this creates such an interesting character that once you start to see his vulnerabilities you realize Why he acts the way he does
