-pat first meets bud and bud is super ingratiating towards him. of course, pat and ESPECIALLY rey is freaked out, so they ask geo about what’s going on and geo says “oh, that’s just what he’s like when he likes someone!”

-bud decides to take pat and rey (because he knows rey now) on a date to a cooking class. pat keeps screwing up the recipes because he’s just not good at cooking so rey ends up taking over because “you definitely suck at cooking”. rey finds out he’s actually good at cooking, and when he shows bud the fruits of his labor, bud excitedly squeals and goes “you should totally make some for all of our friends!” rey feels finally connected and feels like he has friends and a diamour he trusts, and that pat trusts.
