It's been like six years since I first watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer and to this day no fictional character's death has ever haunted me the way Jenny Calendar's has.

The horror-movie-level sequence of her murder, the sociopathic staging of her body, Giles' progression from grief and shock to anger and a borderline-suicidal desire for revenge, Buffy watching Giles (the person she goes to for reassurance and support, the most steady and reliable person she knows) completely fucking shatter and her subsequent realisation that there's no coming back from what Angel has done and none of them will ever be truly okay again after it...

I just will never be over it
