I was really attached to my old username because I've had it for ages but I feel like the new one is a better fit for what my blog has morphed into — aka it reflects my obsession with the 1700s/Age of Enlightenment era

it also nicely ties into the classics (because I swear those people couldn't write two sentences without name-dropping someone from ancient Rome or Greece), and the French revolution to which the enlightenment was very much a catalyst. Oh and last but not least, lit as in literature of course.

(funnily enough though I'm drinking Earl Grey as I'm typing this)

Reminder that Queer Solidarity is more than Solidarity with other Queer people (although that is certain a major part of it). It is solidarity with all oppressed people all over the world. The colonized people of the Global South and the hyper-exploited minorities in the first world are all deserving of our solidarity. We are struggling against the same system which is oppressing all of us in different ways and to different degrees.

Hi!

Chapter 2’s final part is finally here! The update is not a huge one, with 23k words worth of new content added to the game, but it wraps up the chapter and introduces you to what to expect from chapter 3.

There’s not much to say about it, except that I hope you enjoy it!

The update includes:

A birthday celebration

Zanetta delivering some more exposition

A moment of bonding with either Lady Domara or Ajmal

A letter finally read

Organic farm visit

Went and visited a local organic farm today to learn about their methods and what they have learned through the years.

Their veg box scheme really blew up during covid and that and they have since branched into growing flowers as well. It was nice to go somewhere and get a real practical look into things. They run a market garden which I won't be doing but it's still good to know what types of veggies grow well in the local climate from someone who has done it for years.

They had also made a few major mistakes that i could learn from. Like not doing proper water management from the start and putting a road in the wrong side of the field and the road was then just being slowly swallowed by nature despite them having spent, get ready, £20,000 on having it done. I almost felt sick ngl, eye watering.

So yeah I won't be doing any of that, also given we won't be doing any daily machine work. I really don't like big machinery, I know way too many people who have been permanently gravely injured and some even lost their life to big agricultural machinery, things can go wrong so easily.

They were also doing a little rewilding and just letting the land heal itself. Overall it was a nice experience and the people were kind and had their heart in the right place. I now also have a foot in the door when it comes to connecting with the other organic growers and coops in the area :)
