IS “PREGUNTALE A LAS ESTRELLAS” ABOUT CUBA? WHERE IS SHE GETTING THIS INFORMATION!? AM I BAD CUBAN?(highly likely as I was born in the US and my parents hate cuban culture and tell me nothing of it, but also this is an old as fuck song; they might be old but, not THAT old). I haven’t finished listening to ep 7 but my brain went a fucking goosehunt cause my ears perked at Cuba. Fucking hate when I try to look something up and I don’t get an soild answer. Most frustrating thing ever. Not my main source but love how the library of congress labeled it as “ethnic music,” thank you so much, that’s soooo useful and not at all weird and kinda racist. To be fair, I’m pretty fucking bad at recognizing genres(so much for being a musician), but if it’s actually a bolore or something I can maybe see it being Cuban.(it does sound like a slower song) Or maybe I’m just stupid and don’t know jackshit. That could also be happening. Actually though all sources suck, found the original book the guy is singing from but it’s just a compliation of sheet music(and says it’s Mexican, but also it was an American so secondary source not from Hispanic country), and I found the most information on a choir page where they gave context.(I wish I could find anything better, well technically the original sheet music’s pretty good but uuuuuuugh) Anyway, any little sources I have found say Mexcio so I have no fucking clue where the fuck they’re getting this information from
