its kind sad how Tumblr has changed so much! We went from writing long and amazing fics to people writing one sentence and getting thousands of notes. Its repetitive and boring at this point and now most people are going to leave because tumblr is like shutting down and the people who cant write anything cant go to ao3 or anywhere else

i have a lot of mixed opinions on this but i don't like to complain about stuff i feel like is unchangeable but i think a part of speaks to the fact that fandom culture becomes more popular and that it becomes more and more mainstream, introducing it as more a side part of social media than a part of a large internet community if im making any sense.

plenty of people have talked about it before (@/kingkatsuki has spoken on it in much more well-thought way than me lol) but i think it's just that the bigger it gets, the more content is treated like a commodity and less like.. content. i.e. stuff people make and write and put effort into etc. there's a lot of stuff that contributes to it, and the tags are almost unscrollable lately. i think when anime starts to fall out of trend the issue will mostly fix itself, but who knows where we'll be when that happens. im pretty jaded by the whole thing but i do think it's rough because so many of us love and use the tumblr platform so much so its hard to be so worn out by these changes lol but i do remember how different it used to be
