          this first task is all about digging into your muse's relationship with their ability !! you can complete as many or as few of the prompts below the cut as you like. there is no required word count nor is there a “proper” way to complete the task though some ideas are self-paras, interview style posts, edits with a brief description, or simple headcanons / answers. 

          there is no time limit on this task so take as much time as you need, and feel free to break the prompts out into separate posts if you do not want to do them all at once. please tag all posts related to this task with #abilities.task001, and —if you want— also drop a link in the #tasks channel in the ooc server.

MEMORIES —     explore a positive memory your muse has in association with their ability. was this a long time ago, perhaps tying into the wonder of first discovering their ability ?? or is it more recent ?? even if your muse has a complicated relationship with their ability, please try to think hard about even the smallest moment of positivity they may have experienced with it !!

EMOTIONS —     what are three emotions or words that your muse would currently associate with their ability ?? has this view changed over time and if so what caused that change ?? feel free to dig into the reasoning behind each emotion or word and these feelings can certainly be complicated and even contradictory !!

OPINIONS —     given the choice and if it could be safely done with no side-effects ( note: this is a fantasy in this universe ) : would your muse give up their ability ?? this is an open-ended question, but feel free explore the why or why not and if the choice would be easy for them or not.

thanks, anon! yeah, of course you’re welcome to expand on those connections — be my guest! and the more you think about your muse as a vital part of this entire group, the better. i think it’s helpful to think about how those premade connections might inform your muse’s relationship with the others at the start of the roleplay.

Comissioning gif packs, icons, etc, etc, etc, is heavily illegal and can be troublesome. I don’t know when are you going to realise that it is a crime to commercialise with someone else’s image even if you own the movie or streaming service that proportionates your caps. Ask for a tip and have it being optional, that’s not commercialising. But impose the payment and put a paycheck on it all and you, my darling, are doing something illegal.

Not to mention bringing capitalism into rp is disgusting and you should be ashamed. In need? So am I. So are MANY OF US. That’s why you can ASK for an optional tip as a reward for your time and work. But seriously... 62 dollars for 700 gifs? Darling? Even if you were just asking 1 dollar for that quantity? You. Are. Doing. The. Wrong. Thing. And you are going to add the problem where we would be eventually unable to use reosurces on our replies and go back to resourceless threads and forums that suck balls. END OF THE YEAR THOUGHTS : DIVERSITY EDITION .

diversity & representation is important . if you can’t see that , then , i don’t know what to tell you . if you’re sleeping on people of color because you’re ‘ afraid ‘ they won’t get attention , you’re apart of the problem .

playing someone of a different race , ethnicity , gender identity , sexuality , so on and so forth isn’t hard . WE’RE PEOPLE . just like you don’t have your white favs running around yelling they’re white and straight , you don’t have to do that with anyone else . just ... play us as people . we have likes , dislikes , dreams , hard ships , etc like everyone else.

please , for the love of black jesus , don’t make a poc only rp if your admin team is mostly white . if a question is sent in that you are uncomfortable answering / shouldn’t be answering , acknowledge you got it and say you’re waiting for an admin that can answer the question to get on .

we are not all split down the middle when it comes to who we are . someone who is mixed is not always just black / white and it can make it difficult to cast accordingly especially since we’re all SUPER big on using gifs and resources . DO YOUR FUCKING BEST . get it as close as you possibly can . or , you know , make resourceless groups a thing . ( speaking of mixed people : again , we’re not all light skinned . mixed people , like any other group , come in all different shapes , sizes , and colors ! zendaya is beautiful , zendaya is great , but zendaya is not the poster child of mixed people . )

calling you out for your racist action doesn’t automatically mean YOU are racist . your action was racist and you should evaluate what made your action racist .

ITS TOO LATE TO APOLOGIIIIZEEE . no it’s fucking not .  it’s not hard to apologize if someone calls you out for a racist action or for being homophobic or transphobic , etc . we’re all fucking learning how to be better people and better allies and you’re gonna fuck up . OWN UP TO IT . the reason half of this crap lasts so long within the rpc is because someone will get called out by several people and they’ll be stubborn as shit and drag their feet despite MULTIPLE people trying to educate them . 

if your group is constantly getting called out for toxic behavior and if people are being hurt by it , it’s time to shut it down . i don’t think a lot of people go into a group expecting it to turn into some toxic wasteland but shit happens whether that’s on the admins or members or both . either way , SHUT IT DOWN . issue a statement , apologize , shut the group down . or you know , if it’s toxic members , KICK THEM OUT . stop protecting gross people .

dear allies , please do not police discussions about what is going on in the rpc . do not come to someone and tell them they can’t find something funny or they shouldn’t like x , y , or z or they shouldn’t feel the way that they feel especially if they are hurt by something or they should feel x, y , or z because you heard one black youtuber talk about something and you somehow think they are the guide to the end all be all of diversity and representation . we are diverse in our thoughts , feelings , and opinions . please understand that . listen to us and try to navigate through discussions accordingly .
