If we were to get a CV remake. What would y’all expect?
I’ll expect more lore on the family of the twins. The process of the T Veronica Virus.
Tumblr media
I can stand Steve more like they did with Ashley in the re4 remake. Make his death more sad… like they did in Darkside Chronicles. Give us more information on his lore like they did with Luis. Originally I didn’t care for Luis until the remake. Give Steve the boss fight like we did in DC. That was really cool for me at least. I’ll actually like to fight bosses instead of running away from them. Claire not really wanting to fight him but I don’t know if they’ll just have Claire go against him or Chris and Claire fighting him. I’m not sure
Tumblr media
Them to keep Alexia more child like. Like in DC because she went to hibernation as a kid so why not keep her like that. She doesn’t automatically have an adult mind when she gets out of hibernation. Yes she’s a prodigy and acts more probably adult when she’s a child but she still has a child’s mind
Tumblr media
Give Wesker more cutscenes… wanna actually see him like we did in CVX. DC barely gave us content of him. Possibly maybe we’ll get a fight with Chris and Wesker at the end so Chris knows how outmatched he is against him
Do something more with the Nosferatu boss fight. There could be more to it I believe. Maybe have a mutative stage I’m not sure
There’s a total of two boss fights that are totally useless. Could just ignore them. I don’t know if they’ll keep that in the remake if they do it. They did cut off content from re2 and sadly 3.
Tumblr media
If I’m honest for Alfred I liked him both in cvx and dc but I liked the death for him more in cvx. In DC Alexia killed him childishly for waking her up late but in CVX Steve shot him leading to him falling I don’t know how far and bleeding out. Alexia in CVX wanting revenge goes after Steve and Claire and puts her brother in the capsule to try and revive him. I can see why they chosen to change his death is DC because she was more childish. She had the mind of a child but in CVX she most likely mourn for her brother and tried to revive him. Im not sure what they’ll chose
I don’t wanna talk about how hard that tyrant was on the cockpit… I restarted the game twice when I first played it because I didn’t know what I was doing. That platinum was so hard to get and for what. Especially doing the battle modes. I hated doing weskers
Speaking of the battle mode. Think they’ll keep it? Or give us mercenaries? Or both. I’ll be fine with both.
I really want them to have alternate costumes. Like in DC… actually like in any other re game. Wonder why we didn’t get them in CVX except the alternate one for battle mode for Claire but that’s it

Claire Redfield
After parting ways with Leon, Claire continued her search for her brother Chris. When she heard that he had penetrated into the center of Umbrella's organization, she headed immediately to Europe. Claire went undercover into Umbrella's Paris research laboratory. But she was soon discovered and captured by Umbrella security and sent to the Rockfort Island prison facility. However, shortly after her imprisonment, there was an attack on the island. During the attack and subsequent confusion, Claire was released from her cell, after which time she met up with Steve Burnside. Together they plotted their escape from the island.
Steve Burnside
This young man was imprisoned at the detention facility on Rockfort Island. Steve began to distrust not only other people, but even himself. He spent his days in confinement on the solitary island in deep sadness. What finally returned hope to Steve's life was an assault on the prison by an unknown assailant. In the midst of the chaos and confusion which resulted from the attack, Steve escaped from the prison, and in the process, had a fateful meeting with Claire Redfield. Together, they sought to escape from the island. Though cocky on the outside and often reckless, Steve is a good-hearted kid who is starved for love and affection.
Alfred Ashford
Commander of the base on Rockfort Island and son of Alexander Ashford, the 6th generation head of the Ashford family and chief executive officer of Umbrella Corporation. He graduated from a well-regarded British university in 1993 and was given control over the Antarctic and Rockfort Island bases. Although he was given control of such important Umbrella facilities, he squandered his responsibilities by using the island for his own private torture facility. He also had a strange obsession with adorning the base with military collectibles. To Umbrella, Alfred was an encumbrance; nothing more than a petty dictator attempting to emulate greatness that was far beyond his reach. With no one to counsel him, his mental breakdown accelerated as he spent his days obsessing over the restoration of his family's power.
Chris Redfield
Several months prior to the destruction of Raccoon City, during the Mansion Incident, Chris found the Arklay Research Lab and uncovered Umbrella’s plot. But due to a systematic cover-up, the entire matter was cloaked in darkness and none of his information saw the light of day. At that point, Chris decided to travel to Europe to look into matters on his own. When Chris departed, he broke off contact with his younger sister, Claire in order to avoid exposing her to danger. Anxious about his safety, Claire set off by her self to find him, and subsequently got caught up in the Raccoon City Disaster. She then followed her bother to Europe, was captured by Umbrella, and imprisoned on Rockfort Island. After learning of Claire’s imprisonment from Leon, Chris took off immediately for Rockfort Island. There he met Albert Wesker, picked up on Claire’s trail, and travelled to Antarctica.

Alexia Ashford
Tumblr media
The brilliant scientist and artificially created daughter of Alexander Ashford, the sixth-generation head of the Ashford family. Though Alfred and she were twin brother and sister, their relationship was quite unequal. He treated her with the utmost love, while she lorded over him as a master might a slave. When Alexia was 10, she was hired as a research scientist at the Antarctic laboratory. She surprised the other scientists by conducting research on the T-Virus and simultaneously working on a new strain referred to as the T-Veronica virus. But when the research reached a critical point, Alexia did the incomprehensible. This girl, who was born with a heart of pure evil, forcibly used her father Alexander in an experiment and injected him with the virus. The experiment was a failure, ending with Alexander being transformed into a hideous monster, but for Alexia, it was important stage and opened new avenues of research for her. When her research approached its final stage, Alexia decided to use herself as a test subject, this time, injecting herself with T-Veronica. After doing so, she placed herself into a cryogenic sleep. The outside world was told that she had died during an experiment.

Muffin, I saw your post about how you keep your motivation to do RE8 and you said RE8 has weaker gameplay. What would you say is your fav RE off gameplay? If you don't mind of course
Personally my favourite resident evil game is code:veronica, i know many people might not like it but I enjoy it quite a lot!
I really like the characters in village, would even say they’re my favorite resident evil characters (among others, of course), but no, I wouldn’t say Re8 is my favorite RE game overall :)
I really like the tension of re0! My favorite is probably re4 though, because I find the story and gameplay the most enjoyable. They did a great job with the remake too, I feel. I wish we got a better remake of re3, though, I love that game and I feel like much got lost in the remake :/!!
Man, I wish I could play code Veronica!! As a PC user, I hope they’ll remake it soon👀👀🥳

Left to right: Pregame through first game, Code:Veronica, RE5
-
Name: Evelyn (Birkin) Wesker
DoB: July, 1973
Age: 25 (RE, Code:Veronica), 36 (RE5)
Blood Type: A
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 120lbs
Occupations: Art Teacher (1993 - 1998), H.C.F. Tech Assistant (1998), Albert Wesker's Personal Assistant/Housewife (1998 - 2009)
Relationships: William Birkin (elder brother), Albert Wesker (husband), S.T.A.R.S. members (friends), Excella Gionne (enemy), Michael Wesker (son), Gabrielle Wesker (daughter), Jake Muller (AU - stepson)
History
Born in the summer of 1973, Evelyn Birkin was quickly seen as a bright child, excelling in technology and botany, though not considered a prodigy like her elder brother, William. Because of their age difference, William paid little attention to his sister, barely acknowledging her presence. She did not receive special schooling, showing more interest in the arts, and proceeded through school only slightly faster than the average child. Evelyn pursued a career as a teacher, earning her degree in 1994, at the age of 21. She acquired a job at Racoon City's Private Academy in later that year, teaching art to Elementary students.
In 1994, Evelyn met Albert Wesker by coincidence, the two of them starting a romantic relationship with each other. William quickly switched from uncaring to protective upon learning who his sister was dating, his vocal distaste only pushing Evelyn and Albert closer together. In May, 1998, the two married, and Evelyn took Wesker as her last name. In the year before marrying, Albert disclosed a limited amount of information about Umbrella, making her give his full support and trust.
Evelyn was devastated to believe she lost her new husband after the events taking place at the Arklay laboratory, shutting down and not talking with anyone, despite Chris Redfield taking time to try and help her. A week after the news, in the middle of the night, Evelyn was awoken by the sound of an intruder, surprised to find Albert alive. With little explanation, Evelyn packed a few things and followed him, vanishing from the public and leaving everything and everyone else behind.
Evelyn Insisted on being of help to Albert, joining him as a Tech Assistant on his mission to Rockfort Island. She managed the technical side of things, including tracking and deploying both scanners and drones.
Evelyn proceeded to follow Albert closely wherever his work brought him, loosely being considered his personal assistant. She found herself pregnant multiple times through the years, never successfully having a living child. Both of them came to the conclusion it was very likely they'd never succeed in having children due to the genetic mutations Albert had undergone. This took a heavy toll on Evelyn, both mentally and physically.
Evelyn clung possessively to Albert during his work at Tricell, growing antagonistic towards anyone who showed romantic or sexual interest towards him, especially Tricell Exec. Excella Gionne. Both of them were quietly hostile to each other in public, in private Evelyn complaining to Albert about the “bitch” and wanting her gone. She happily helped get rid of her with Albert, assisting with his Uroboros project as well. She remotely controlled the bomber used to release the virus, watching from the monitors as she lost contact with the bomber crashing Into the volcano.
Afterwards, she fled from the BSAA tracking her, and a few months later, was captured by Chris Redfield, peacefully giving up after almost successfully shooting him. She was once again with child and was carefully monitored by the BSAA. Ironically, after the many years of longing, she gave birth to a pair of healthy twins, which she gave the angel names of Michael and Gabrielle. They stayed under the heavy supervision of the BSAA, due to the nature of the children being Albert Wesker's biological children.
AU Fun
I have a favorite AU which the main difference is Albert raises Jake as a single father until Evelyn shows up, absolutely adoring the child and loving him as her own.

Do you think they'll do a remake of Resident Evil 5??
I think they're gonna do Code:Veronica next but yeah I think 5 will get a remake also. I don't really think it needs one since it's fairly recent (as recent as 2009 can be considered lol) but I really do expect Capcom to remake it, especially since the 2, 3, and 4 remakes were so successful aka money making.
I'm one of the few who adore 5 but I know a lot of people don't so I can see them trying to redo it and make it less action and more horror since that was one of the biggest criticism. Plus it has the older feel/controls that Re4 has so there's also an excuse to do it. I'm a sucker so I'd 100% buy it even though I know the entire time I'll be like, "But...but...in the original...."

Ali, what would you like to see be the next Resident Evil game?
Thank you so much for the question! I love talking about stuff like this because not only am I a fan, I'm also a longtime follower of the business side of the video game industry.
I'm going to extrapolate a little bit because there's a few different ways I could approach this: What do I think is going to be the next release, what do I think is going to be the next mainline numbered entry and what I personally want.
What I would want is a spiritual successor to Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D. As good as the series can be at survival horror, it's got a criminally underrated and super addicting arcade side that hasn't been explored as much as I'd like. My dream would be a fully-featured arcade game built in the Reach for the Moon Engine featuring all the stages and all the characters from prior Mercenaries modes, with maybe some new ones for good measure.
The gameplay would be an evolution of the mechanics from Resident Evil 4 (2023), complete with (and this is super important) the attache case inventory system. All the characters would have all their different costumes, loadouts would be fully customizable, there would be a variety of goals, objectives and scenarios and we'd finally see the Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Mercenaries content that was left out of R3make rebuilt in the RE Engine.
Merc3D is seriously one of my favourite games (the render I use for Jill's icon is her key art from that game!), but it was frustratingly bare-bones and it's difficult to recommend because of what it inherits from Resident Evil 5, and also the fact it's locked on the 3DS. I want more of this and none of the Mercenaries modes in the other games I have fully fill that niche for me.
After that, I would love an updated and expanded re-release of Resident Evil Outbreak that fixes all of its myriad bugs, broken things and finishing its dummied-out incomplete content. I'd settle for a remake (and honestly a remake is more likely) but I'd infinitely prefer a re-release: That game is seriously the lost Resident Evil masterpiece, and more people should be able to experience how awesome it is without jumping through a million different hoops to connect to OBSRV.
Now, what do I think we're going to get next? Resident Evil 9 starring Rose and closing off a trilogy about the Winters family. Possibly open-world built on the fork of Reach for the Moon Dragon's Dogma 2 was built on. Either at the same time or shortly before or after, Resident Evil CODE:Veronica Remake, because it's the game most everyone in the fandom has been clamouring for for years now. Potentially Resident Evil 5 Remake (because it has to be coming, whether I like it or not...) if it's further along in development than CVR.
There are rumours that a second remake of the first Resident Evil is due out in 2026 for the series' 30th Anniversary, and while I could see that, I have extremely mixed feelings about whether or not I think that's a good idea, or even warranted.
Thank you so much again for this! I really enjoyed ranting for a bit. If you or anyone else have any more OOC/Mum/Meta questions like this, please ask!

it's 1 am and I've just finished to play resident evil code veronica for the 3rd time, literally I'm begging capcom for a remake.
I feel like the remake would bring a light to this forsaken game that is actually essential for the re storyline.
plus this game has a great plot and characters itself.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bats
Bats found on Rockfort Island that were infected by the T-Virus during the outbreak, and have heightened awareness of sound. They attack in swarms, circling the skies as one organism, and sink their sharp fangs into their prey and suck their blood.
Gulp Worm
A biological weapon created by manipulating worm DNA with the T-Virus. Normally, it lies dormant far beneath the ground, but when it smells prey approaching, it comes rushing out of the ground to attack. This worm is actually in the prototype stage, and was used as a practice opponent for Rockfort Island's Anti-BOW Squad trainees. Its main characteristics are its enormous size and strong digestive organs. Its maw is also large enough to swallow a full-grown adult human.
Hunter II
Based on leaked data on Umbrella's B.O.W., the Hunter II is a B.O.W. developed by a rival company. It is governed to only attack designated targets. A certain individual is thought to be behind the Hunter II attack on Rockfort Island, but a motive has yet to be determined. There is an enhanced sub-species with a reddish skin called the Sweeper.
Bandersnatch
A new kind of prototype B.O.W. made from a human subject. Its main mode of transportation is to grab onto things with its extendable right arm and pull itself around. Due to its imperfect prototype status, its lower body has devolved and its left arm is all but nonexistent, forcing it to rely on its right arm exclusively. One of its major flaws is that it must use its right arm to cover its head, which is an inherent weak point of humanoid B.O.W.s
Tyrant (T-103 Mass Produced Type)
The mass-produced T-103 type Tyrant that was seen in Raccoon City was deployed to Rockfort Island for training by Umbrella's special forces unit. The only differences with the previous T-103 Tyrant is that its limiter was removed and its claws are smaller than those of the standard T-103. It boasts the same strength and endurance of the previous Tyrant types.
Moth
Unlike the Giant Moths in the sewers of Raccoon City, these Moths' wings have grown in perfect proportion to their bodies. This gives these Moths incredible maneuverability. They search the area around their nests for prey, on which they will lay their parasites.
Parasites
Moth larvae. When the eggs which have been laid within the body of an organism hatch, they nourish themselves on their host and grow rapidly. After they have grown to a certain size, they burst out from the body of the host to find other prey.
Nosferatu
The final, mutated form of Alexander Ashford, the sixth-generation head of the Ashford Family. It was sent to Umbrella's Antarctic facility and sealed away for the last 15 years, but soon after it heard the screams of Alfred falling down the chasm in the mining room, it exhibited extraordinary herculean strength and escaped. Despite the fact that both of its arms are held behind its back by a straight-jacket like device, it has three tentacles sprouting from its body, which it uses to move around. Its heart is exposed, protruding through its ribcage. Its body also produces a poison that turns into a deadly fog upon contact with oxygen.
Tentacle
A tentacle of the Alexia-Pod which nests in the center of the Antarctic Facility. The Alexia-Pod is a plant-like organism with which Alexia shares a symbiotic relationship. At its base is the nest of her ant children. Alexia can control the movements of their tentacle at will. The tentacle is capable of reaching and attacking prey up to several kilometers away. It cannot function alone, but if it is substantially damaged, it will retract on its own.
Steve Monster
Steve Burnside after being injected with the T-Veronica virus by Alexia Ashford. His body was unable to coexist peacefully with the virus, and he became a monster. Due to the virus's effects on his brain, he has lost all sense or reason of self. Now he exists only to attack, with no concept of friend or foe. His new monster strength is impressive allowing him, to destroy a stone statue with a single swing of his axe. Attaching its exposed heart will slow it down, but his great speed makes escape all but impossible.
Files with no gifs to go with them:
Ants
Alexia Ashford used these ants in her experiments with the T-Veronica virus. Injecting them with the virus led to hugely increased growth and hostility. The infected ants began attacking whatever prey they could find with their dangerous pincers. These children of Alexia have built a colony inside of the Alexia-Pod which grows beneath the control room. Alexia is their queen.
