words: ~1,154
warnings: fluff, protective mama!nat
requested: yep!
a/n: i'm soft for soft nat. also the fact that i said it would be a drabble but it's the length i would write for a fic. happy reading! hope you like it anon ♡
translations:
moya lyubov - my love
milaya - sweetheart
malen'kiy - little one
"Did you guys go shopping today?"
You look over your shoulder from your spot on the couch and smile when you spot Bucky walking into the living room, nodding your head as you finish folding a blanket.
"Mhmm, earlier today." You answer, reaching over to start folding the clothes you bought earlier that day. "We just got back a little while ago."
He rounds the couch, Natasha right behind him as he scans over the various baby items laying around the living room.
"Not there, Barnes." You look over to see your wife shooing your friend - who looks so confused at being denied a seat next to you - away, making him sit on the loveseat next to the couch.
You shake your head as you pick up a bear onesie and start to fold it - considering whether or not you should by your wife her own one, knowing that Natasha was no doubt entering her 'mama bear' mode once again.
"Moya lyubov, we have to buy this."
You look over from the pacifiers you were trying to pick from (who knew that a baby would need so many of these tiny little things?) to see your wife holding up a dark brown onesie shaped like a baby bear.
"Baby," You laugh softly. "We already have five of these bear outfits."
Natasha had been obsessed over the onesies ever since you showed her a video of a baby running around in the little bear outfit while her mom recorded her.
Since then, she's bought five other onesies, all different shades for all the different species of bear there was (you had to admit it was cute - you even told her that the brown bear outfit was your favourite).
But if you were being honest, it was because you could never deny Nat of buying whatever she wanted for your little one seeing just how happy it made her.
"Well now it's six." She says, pouting immediately after. "Please, Y/N/N?"
You knew damn well you'll just come back to the store yourself later on and buy the outfit if you didn't right now. So why not just make the both of you happy and save yourself from another trip to the store?
Picking a random pacifier from the rack, you nod and make your way over to Natasha. You can't help but return the smile when Natasha grins at you as you place the onesie in the cart.
"Whatever my baby wants for our baby, she gets."
"What? Why not?"
She huffs as she moves to you, adjusting the pillows that were resting at your back and sides, her eyes unquestionably scanning over you too look for any signs of discomfort.
"Because it took us 10 minutes to find Y/N a comfy position and god help you if my wife feels any discomfort from you moving her pillows by sitting down."
You grab at her hands to stop her from fussing over the pillows, instead pulling her down to sit beside you as you squeeze her hands.
"Milaya." You chastise gently.
You know she only does it because she wants you to be comfortable at all times, considering your back and ankles were constantly aching at the new weight you supporting.
"It's okay, my love." You reassure her. "I'm okay. I'm comfortable, we both are."
-
"Are you comfy?"
"Yes." "Nothing's aching."
"No."
"Do you need another pil-"
"What I need is for my wife to calm down and just get her cute butt into bed with me so we can sleep."
She finally smiles at that, and you can tell by the way her shoulders relax, just how much pressure she's putting on herself to take care of you.
As much as you want to tell her to stop worrying, you know it's because she's just scared and nervous about being a new parent, you freaked out just as often as she did if not more, and this was her way of controlling those nerves.
"You should sleep, moya lyubov."
You don't protest, with all the walking and shopping you two did today, it really did a number on you, and if it wasn't for Bucky coming over for dinner, you're sure you would've already been asleep.
"I will, I will. I just wanted my kiss from you before I dozed off."
You fall asleep not long after being bombarded by the soft lips of your wife, with promises of going to a cafe for breakfast tomorrow morning being the last thing you hear.
-
Natasha waits till your asleep before shuffling down the bed so she's face to face with your growing belly.
She rests a hand on the curve of your stomach, her thumb gently caressing the exposed skin there.
"Hello, malen'kiy." She whispers softly.
"Those baby books I've been reading all tell me that you can hear me now, so I guess I should start talking to you more huh?
"I hope you know that I love you more than anything in the world, and I'm going to make sure that no one or nothing ever hurts you. I love you just as much as I love your mama. You two are my world, and I'll spend the ret of my life taking care of the two of you."
She's too distracted talking to your baby that she doesn't notice you waking up, the sound of her voice bringing you out from your light slumber.
By the time you get to your senses, Natasha's humming an old lullaby while she rubs your swollen belly, recognising the tune as the one she used to hum to you back when your nightmares would keep you up at night.
Your eyes tear up slightly at the fact that she gets to share it with your baby now, and the magnitude of just how much love she's already showing to your child solidifying the fact that she was going to be a great mother.
You close your eyes when she carefully makes her way back up to you after pressing a few more kisses to your stomach, refusing to let tears shed on a happy moment.
"I haven't heard that song in a while."
She almost falls out of bed in surprise at the sound of your voice, and she guesses she would have if it wasn't for your hand darting out to catch her.
"'m sorry, baby, didn't mean to scare you." You breathe out softly, though she can tell your trying your hardest not to smile at her.
"Just wanted to say that I missed hearing that lullaby."
She settles down beside you once again, laying on her side to wrap her arm around you and your bump. She smiles when you nuzzle as close as you can, the familiar feel of your lips resting against her shoulder relaxing her more than she could admit.
"We love you too, baby, so so much."

lost with you
masterlist
pairing: wanda maximoff x reader
words: ~878
warnings: pining, reader is a gay mess
requested: hope you like it @xxxtwilightaxelxxx !! :DD
a/n: something short and sweet bc uni’s kicking my ass and my brain doesn’t wanna make proper sentences. happy reading! ♡
You were lost.
More lost than you'd like to admit.
Right now you were supposed to be training with Bucky and Sam, but you got side-tracked by Tony who led you to his labs while asking you how you were getting by living in the compound with the rest of the team.
It wasn't until after he left you to your own devices to work on one of his projects that you didn't know how to get back to the training room.
It was your own fault, you weren't really paying attention to the twists and turns Tony was taking you through, so you really had no one to blame but yourself now that you were standing by the elevators by yourself like an idiot.
You debated on calling Natasha to come save you, but you had no idea if your friend was even in the building, remembering that she had told you she was going to be out on a job the week you were moving into your new room.
"Y/N?"
Turning your head to the source of the voice, you felt the heat rising up to your cheeks that only appeared whenever a certain witch was around.
"Wanda. Hey"
She smiles at you, your heart racing involuntarily at the sight. "What're you doing here?"
"Oh- Uh, I'm moving in today-" You cut yourself off. "Actually, I'm meant to be training with Sam and Bucky, but Tony wanted to talk, and the next thing I knew we were at his labs..."
You huff and frown slightly as you slide your hands into your pockets. "Long story short, I got lost and I don't know how to get to the training rooms."
She laughs softly, her eyes crinkling at the corners as she throws her head back slightly. You're certain that the flush on your cheeks only deepens, but you're so infatuated with the woman standing in front of you that you'd gladly get lost all over again if meant you'd get to keep hearing that sound come from her mouth.
"That's understandable, it took me a month when I got here to memorise where everything was." She tells you. It's no doubt her way of reassuring you without outright saying it, and you couldn't be more grateful for it. "How about I show you around?"
"Really?"
"Of course! And when we see Sam and Bucky, we'll just tell them why you didn't show up for training." She grins. "It'll be fine, I promise."
When the person you've been crushing on offers you one on one time with them you do what anyone else in your shoes would and say yes.
-
Wanda ends up showing you around the whole building. All the way from the training rooms (somehow you don't see Sam and Bucky, and you weren't complaining at all), to the kitchens, taking you around all the floors and explaining everything that you wanted to know about.
When you two finally reach the compound she shows you all the hiding places she goes to when she wants alone time, making you promise not to share it with anyone else.
"It'll be our little secret" she told you with a wink, and you could only nod, not trusting your voice for fear of saying something embarrassing.
She shows you the path to her room, mentioning that it wasn't too far from yours. If you weren't too busy trying not to read into what she was saying, you would have seen the way she chewed on her lower lip as she watched you take everything in.
"Y/N!"
Both of your heads turn towards Sam when he calls out your name, seeing wave at you with Bucky in tow.
Wanda turns her attention back to you and smile makes your head spin at the warmness that fills your chest at the way it always seems to light up her eyes whenever she directs it towards you. "And I guess that's where our tour ends."
"I guess so."
You greet both of the guys with hugs when they reach you and Wanda. "Where were you, doll? I thought you were joining us for training today?"
They both look at you with understanding when you tell them about your situation, from getting lost by the labs to Wanda coming in and saving you by showing you around, making promises to both of them that you'd train with them the next morning.
You look at her and smile fondly once you've finished recapping your day to the guys. "Thanks again, Wanda, I owe you one."
"Maybe we can watch a movie together once you're settled in, just the two of us."
If any of them notice the way your cheeks heat up as you nod your head, they don't mention it.
Sam watches you as you keep your eyes on Wanda as she leaves, excusing herself when she remembers that she had her own training session with Natasha, raising an eyebrow at you when finally turn your attention back to them.
You shake your head at him, but the grin on his face tells you that he knows about your crush on her, no doubt giving him something to tease you about later on.
Oh boy, you were in trouble.

until the end
masterlist
pairing: carol danvers x reader
words: ~1,276
warnings: angst, happy ending, carol is soft for the reader
requested: yessum
a/n: i haven't written this much for carol in such a short amount of time in 3 years wowow. just posting these as i go kdfhdsjf. hope you like it anon, and happy reading everyone! ♡
From the moment she woke up that morning, something in the back of her head was nagging at her, telling her that she'd needed to remember something important.
She'd been racking her brain all morning while getting ready, trying to remember if she'd missed a meeting the day before, or maybe she'd just forgotten to take the trash out the night before (you always had to remind her when it was her turn).
She rationalizes with herself that if what she needed to remember was that important, she'd remember it once she got to work.
But by the time lunchtime rolls around, she still hasn't got a clue.
-
"Hi, baby. We still on for later?"
You call her a little after lunch, asking about your traditional dinner and netflix nights with Carol that you've shared ever since you two started dating.
"Yep, I've only got a few more things to do and then I'll be on my way home as soon as I'm done."
She hears you hum in response from the other side, knowing you were working just as hard as she was on your end.
"We'll I'll let you get back to work, the quicker you finish the faster you can get home."
She ends the call with a promise to see you soon, Natasha entering the room just as she says goodbye.
"Was that Y/N?"
She hums as she nods, putting her phone away while the redhead sets down files about their recent target in front of her.
"What did you get her?"
She furrows her eyebrows at the question, looking at her friend like she'd just grown three heads.
"I haven't gotten her anything?" She trails off.
The last time Carol checked, your anniversary wasn't for another couple of months, so there's no way that Natasha could be talking about that.
Right?
She looks just as confused with Carols answer as Carol feels, the two of them awkwardly watching one another.
"Come on." Natasha coughs, interrupting Carols thoughts. "We better finish up this plan so you can get home quickly."
-
"It should just be a quick job. Two, three days tops."
"Sounds like a plan."
Her and Natasha were finalising the details of assignment they were given when she remembers.
Or rather, when she gets reminded.
"So, I'll see you the day after tomorrow?"
"Bright and early."
"Oh, could you tell Y/N that I wished her a happy birthday for me." The redhead says. "I'll make it up to them when we get back since I won't be able to see them till after."
"Shit."
Natasha looks at her with a worried expression, surprised at the sudden change in the taller woman's tone.
Clearly Carol wasn't as quiet as she thought she was.
"What's wrong?"
Shit. Shit. Shit.
Today was your birthday.
And she forgot.
She looks at the clock on the wall, and groans quietly to herself. 10:48. Even if she gets home within the next twenty minute, she already knows it's too late.
"I gotta go, Nat, I'll see you later."
-
The apartment is dark when she makes it home, the guilt that's been steadily building since she rushed out after Natasha had inadvertently reminded her that it was your birthday increasing by tenfold when she sees the 'Happy Birthday!' cake sitting on your dining table.
You confirm her guesses when she spots you on your bed, your back facing her with the covers pulled up to your shoulders. It's late, but still early enough that Carol knows you shouldn't be asleep yet.
Nevertheless, she could infer why you went to bed early.
She knows the moment you figure out that she's in the room, your chest pauses mid-breath when you realize that you were no longer alone. That's all it takes for Carol to stride to your side of the bed.
"Baby, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to forget- I don't even know how it slipped my mind. This whole day, I've knew I was forgetting something and I hate that I forgot about your day, baby-"
She stops her ramble when you place a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it gently.
"It's okay, Car."
She can't see your face well in the dark, but hearing the way your voice sounds thick with tears breaks her heart even more.
"It's not okay, baby." She murmurs softly. "I forgot."
You don't say anything, instead sighing heavily as your hand slips from her shoulder, retreating back to resting underneath your head.
She stays there, kneeling in front of you in the dark, for a moment, trying to rack her brain for something- anything she could do to make up for it.
"Come on, we're going out."
You sniff quietly, rubbing your eyes in a way Carol knows is a way to hide the fact that you were getting rid any evidence you were crying. "Car, I don't feel like celebrating anymore."
"This is my fault, Y/N, and I refuse to let your birthday pass without celebrating it with you." She sighs. "Please, baby?"
Your stare is palpable, even in the dark, and she holds her breath, waiting for you to kick her out of the bedroom, or even for you to tell her to get lost.
"Give me five minutes."
-
"I'm really sorry again, Y/N/N."
You pause mid-scoop, looking at her while you set your ice cream cup down. Turns out there's not a lot of places open at this time of night, but you two made it work with what you had, sitting at an ice cream store that was thankfully open till late.
"You don't have to keep apologising, my love."
She knows that you're not mad at her, you told her on the walk over, but she can't stop the words from falling out of her mouth.
"I did want to spend the day with you, but I also know that work gets in the way sometimes. Even if you did forget, you did something about it. We're here aren't we?"
You send a reassuring smile her way, but you scoot closer to her until your thighs were pressed against each other when you see that she wasn't convinced just yet.
"Baby, birthday's have never been all that special to me anyways, I always cared more about the people I spent my day with."
She wants to argue that she couldn't even do that, and that out of the 24 hours of your actual birthday, she only managed to spend an hour of it with you.
"Any time spent with you is time well spent." You tell her. "You're here with me now, so that's all that matters, okay?"
-
It's only after a few more reassurances that 'I promise, Car, we're fine, I'm not mad' that she let's herself loosen up. She knows the guilt of today won't go away in an hour, but seeing you smile and enjoy yourself does wonders.
So when you pretend to lean in for a kiss just to smear ice cream on her nose, she doesn't have it in her to get mad. Not when you throw your head back laughing like a little kid, your smile taking over your features as you lean into her while you catch your breath.
She even smiles and poses when you take a picture of her before apologising (though she knows you're not sorry) and offering to clean the dessert off.
As you're wiping her face, eyes shining with admiration instead of the tears that were there just a few hours ago, she promises to never forget another birthday again.
"Happy birthday, Y/N/N."

masterlist
pairing: carol danvers x reader
words: ~578
warnings: drunk!carol, blushy!reader
requested: mmhm!
a/n: i haven't written for carol in a hot minute, and i gotta say, i missed it. happy reading everyone, and i hope you like it anon ♡
“Are you drunk, Car?”
The woman sitting across the kitchen counter made a sound of protest, loose blonde strands of hair falling in front of her face as she shook her head.
You weren't exactly expecting a mildly inebriated Carol when you came back from your debrief with Steve, but it was a nice surprise, considering the woman you'd been crushing on for a while now wasn't one to let her inhibitions down very often.
"Mmmnot drunk, you're just a little swaying a little, Y/N/N."
“Whatever you say, Captain." You laugh.
You can feel her eyes on you as you move to grab her a bottle of water from the fridge (you know she’s not going to be happy if she wakes up with a hangover tomorrow morning - can she even get drunk?), but you don't say anything to her.
How can she still look so good even when she’s drunk like this?
You shake the thought from your head as soon as it enters, instead sliding the water bottle towards her. You laugh once again when she looks at the poor bottle like it's personally offended her, seeing her furrowed eyebrows as she looks back to you like she’s asking why you would make her drink it.
The brief thought to move the bottle away from her before she decides to use her photon blast to move it away from her, but it leaves your mind when you see Carol making grabby hands in your direction from the corner of your eye.
"What is it?"
"C'mere, baby girl."
You raise your eyebrows at the sudden nickname, though your feet are already moving on their own accord to her side of the counter.
"What did you just say?"
She tuts her tongue in response when you stop just a few steps short from where she was sitting, a determined look on her face before she’s lurching forward to grab you by the hips and tugging you closer until you were standing between her legs.
"There you go," She hums, clearly pleased with how close you were now. "There's my good girl."
Your eyes widen at her last three words, feeling the telling flush rising to your cheeks and ears as soon as the words left her mouth. Carol's clearly satisfied with the effect she has on you, the smug grin on her face showing just how unashamed she is of her words.
"Oh my god."
You bury your face in your hands as she laughs at your flustered state, refusing to even lift your head to meet her gaze when she tries to pry your hands away.
"I can't believe you just said that.”
You know she’s drunk, and she probably doesn’t mean a single word she says, but you can’t lie and say that her words and her touch don’t have an effect on you.
You’d let her have her way with you at the drop of a hat.
"I can't believe you like it." She points out.
"Well," You huff . “Now you know."
"You're right. Now I do know." You feel her hands settle back around your waist, her fingertips playing with the hem of your shirt. When she goes quiet for a moment, you think she's fallen asleep while leaning against you, but when you take your hands away from your face to look at her, she's already staring back at you.
"How about we go and find out what else you like?"

take you home
masterlist
pairing: nicole haught x waverly earp
words: ~1,062
warnings: pining, drunk!nicole and wynonna
requested: yessir!
a/n: this is my very first time writing for wayhaught, they were my first wlw ship that i ever go into before i found supercorp. hope you like it anon! happy reading earpers ♡
"Waves. Wavely- no, Wayyver-"
She pulls the phone away from her ear to glance at the phone number displayed on the screen, wondering just when and where on earth Nicole got her number.
"It's Waverly, haughtsauce."
Well, that answers her question.
Nicole clears her throat, and she can hear the redhead sounding out every syllable of her name to pronounce it right. "Waverly."
She has the sneaking suspicion that her sister is the reason for the officer's inebriated state, but she can't help but she's glad that the two are getting along.
"Hi, Nicole."
"Could you-" She hiccups. "Could you please come pick me and Wynonna up? We'd drive but-"
"-but ginger spice here can't hold her alcohol."
She sighs quietly when the two bicker over who has the higher alcohol tolerance, clearing her throat to get Nicole's attention once more.
"I'll be there in 20 to get you guys."
-
When she finally does arrive at the bar, both women are on the verge of falling asleep.
She manages to get Wynonna to lay down in the backseat while Nicole slowly makes her own way to sit in the passenger seat.
"Thanks for coming to get us, Waverly."
Nicole's less drunk than she was when she first called, but even Waverly can tell that there's still a significant amount of alcohol in her system. She could only hope that the woman beside her gets enough water in her system before she sleeps to impede the inevitable headache she'll have in the morning.
"It's no problem, Nicole."
"Nona, didn't cause you too much trouble did she?"
She gets a head shake in response, Nicole resting her head against the window with her eyes closed, the hint of a smile on her face catching Waverly's attention.
"She gave me a shovel talk." She answers after a moment. "But that's too soon, isn't it? I haven't even asked you out yet."
"Oh?"
She's thankful that her sister's asleep (or at least pretending to, considering the last time she peaked at her through the rear-view mirror, she could've sworn she saw the blue eyes of her sister peaking back at her), and that Nicole's decided to keep her eyes closed throughout this whole exchange.
"Mhmm." She hums. "She's the one who made me call you, kept calling me a 'chicken' for being to scared to tell you how I feel."
She doesn't get to ask anymore questions after that because Nicole dozes off, leaving Waverly to sit there and wonder what the hell just happened for the rest of the drive to her house.
-
"C'mon, Nicole, you gotta help me out here a little."
The taller woman apologises quietly above her, before she lifts some of her weight off of Waverly, the two of them slowly making the trek from the truck to her front door.
She's got one arm wrapped around Nicole's waist, while the other holds the arm that was wrapped around Waverly's shoulder, both of them stepping in sync with one another.
"Waves?"
"Hmm?"
Busy with trying help Nicole find the keys to her house (they're in her pocket but she couldn't seem to remember in the moment), she misses the way Nicole's gaze stays on her face, in absolutely no rush to get out from the cold.
"You're so beautiful, and kind, and smart- gosh you're so smart, and warm with everyone, it's no wonder everybody loves you. You're like the embodiment of sunshine. Did you know that?"
"That's probably why I like you so much."
The cold gives her an excuse to why her cheeks are so red, but it doesn't hide the way her eyes widen at Nicole's confession, looking up at the redhead with such speed that even she's shocked by it.
"Maybe we should talk about this in the morning, Nicole."
Nicole pouts, eyebrows furrowed at the rejection (not really a rejection, but in her drunken state it sure feels like one) and Waverly pushes out the thought to take back what she just said and say that she likes her just as much.
But Nicole's drunk, and she's not about to take advantage of her lack of inhibitions to get what she wants.
"You promise?"
"Promise."
She tells Nicole that she'll come back in the morning to check on her - and to talk - with breakfast, making the older woman promise to drink water before she goes to bed.
When she gets in the car, Wynonna's no longer pretending to be asleep, sitting up in the backseat, having clearly watched just what's happened between the two women.
"You two are worse than an 80's rom com."
-
"Hi." She greets, holding up the paper bag filled with food she bought for the two of them. "Breakfast?"
Nicole opens the door wider, ushering her inside and out of the cold, helping her with the bag of food as she closes the door. "Come on in, Waves."
"So.. Do you remember anything from last night?"
Probably not the best way to ask the question, but better to rip it off like a band-aid right?
Nicole flushes as she nods her head, her hand lifting up to rub the back of her neck.
"I sobered up a little on the drive home. I remember everything from the moment we got out of the car to the moment I got into bed."
Nicole's eyes suddenly widen, and Waverly can't stop the way her own features mirror her own.
"It's okay, if you don't feel the same way, I never wanted to pressure you into giving me an answer, you certainly don't owe me one-"
She reaches for her hand, both of their eyes landing on their joined hands. Squeezing her hand, she makes Nicole meet her eyes.
"Breathe, Nicole."
"I like you too, I just.. I don't know how to do all of this."
It's only then Nicole softens, squeezing her hand back just as gently as she takes a step closer to her.
"Then we'll take it one day at a time, we can go at your pace. All that matters to me is if you're comfortable. Like I said before, I never want to pressure you into anything."
"One day at a time?"
Nicole nods, dimples jumping out as she gives her a reassuring smile that makes her heart melt all over again.
"One day at a time."
