PWHL Teams and Which Taylor Swift Era They are in
My sister and I were talking about how Minnesota Frost is clearly in their Tortured Poets Department Era, and that inspired the rest of this post. This is just a fun little thing I did, please don't take it too seriously or personally.
Tumblr media
(Also for swifties, I used the old versions of album covers as it refers to that era. Red TV is totally different than Red ya know.)
Minnesota Frost:
Tumblr media
Currently in their The Tortured Poets Department Era. Basically messy despite being on top of the world. The album came out after the raging success of Taylor Swift in her Era's tour and winning her fourth album of the year at the grammy's. This new album brings out snappy lines targeted at fans and revelations at how Taylor Swift didn't live up to the ideal many fans had of her. In Minnesota we had the recent firing of the favored general manager and drafting of a controversial player. You can't convince me that Ken Klee wasn't blasting But Daddy I Love Him, as he made all his messy decisions.
Tumblr media
Boston Fleet:
Tumblr media
Speak Now was a Taylor Swift era filled with spite and determination. The whole album was written by Taylor Swift alone, partially because her ex and some critics accusing her of not being a proficient writer on her own. After losing the Walter Cup, the Boston Fleet have the confidence that they can make it far and the determination to be better. (I also think spite comes naturally to Boston, not like they need a motivation or something.) This era is very youthful but honest, and I think that energy would be great to see in Boston next season. Someone blast better than revenge.
Tumblr media
Montreal Victoire:
Tumblr media
A personal favorite of mine, the Red Era of Taylor Swift had it all. Heartbreak, style, chaos, parties, love. This era was also risky and complex, Taylor Swift blended country and pop, bringing critical acclaim and a wider fanbase. Montreal has had a fun, but chaotic summer. Their draft picks are a fair mix of old and new. (With that wild Kessel pick) Their name and logo got rave reviews. People see the the good foundation the team has and are waiting in anticipation for what's to come.
Tumblr media
Toronto Sceptres:
Tumblr media
Reputation is a come back era, and Toronto has something to prove. Following a devastating injury to a star player, the team wasn't the same during the playoffs. This season they are going to have to show that they are still that team. Reputation is a fan favorite album and I have found Toronto to have the strongest fanbase. (They sell out most often and have the largest social media presence.) The team knows they are good and they have the support, they just need to rebuild.
Tumblr media
Ottawa Charge:
Tumblr media
Folklore is an era of surprising change. During Covid and following the cut short run of Lover, Folklore was an unannounced reinvention of Taylor Swift. It wasn't an intentional change, but one forced by the way of the world. Ottawa needs to find its grove and step into its own again. I haven't heard much from Ottawa on anything really, and I hope its because they got some cool alt indie surprise on its way.
Tumblr media
New York Sirens:
Tumblr media
Listen I am not only picking 1989 because it has a cool New York aesthetic. This is the era of leaning in and giving it your all. When Red didn't win album of the year, Taylor Swift decided to move to New York and reinvent herself. New York was last in ranking last season, but got first in draft. They have been working off season with insane draft picks and that somehow it worked out trade with Boston. New York has the star power, the New York city life, and the rebranding to help turn them into something new.

a little post about Kendall Knight and why I adore him sm
so, I’d want to start about how difficult his life probably was before BTR and LA. we know the fact that Mr Knight left bc he had an affair and ig it was somewhere about Katie being 3-4 and Kendall 9-10. so from the very beginning of his childhood he had to be the only man in the family. plus I guess his family was considered poor since, at least, Diamonds seem way richer (brook is a ceo of a beauty company lol). he had to work since they needed way more money than they had (mrs knight worked as a waitress, that’s a confirmed info): groceries, rent and Kendall’s hockey practice. I’m sure he had to babysit Katie while his mother had night shifts and he still managed to study well, work, be a leader in the hockey team, make some weird stuff with his friends and he sure helped his mom to do some house work. also I’d like to address that he also had an amazing personality. he is loyal, compassionate, friendly, kind, caring, smart and a lot of other adjectives. he’s that kind of guy who would help grandma cross the road but at the same time he would kill anyone who called James ugly. I’m sure that if one of the guys got detention, Kendall would make a plan how to get detention for others as well. he is the glue of the band (that is seen in several episodes) and always seems to find a way out. (also I prefer to think that he has a lot of meltdowns bc of the weight on his shoulders but of course he never shows it to others) I bet that the first time when guys saw Kendall cry (the reason doesn’t even matter) they were shocked and had to rethink that situation several times. the thing that I adore the most is that he doesn’t give a damn about anything but his family and friends. he doesn’t care about money or reputation - he just wants his close ones to be happy and safe. and if they’re not - Kendall will destroy the reason why. and I like to think that he is insecure about his looks and how he’s “leading” the group. he probably thinks that he is not enough, that he’s not what others think of him. and every time when there is a fight between guys - he thinks that it’s his fault. also the episode “big time tour bus” showed that he indeed cares about what others think of him. oh, and I forgot to mention that he obviously has some anger issues. but that’s not bad - that’s the part of his personality that makes him “Kendall”. also his anger even helped several times in the show, but if we’re talking about the Minnesota… I think he was the one who would yell at bullies and then punch them in the face. I can imagine guys hiding behind his back while some big guy was talking to him.
Tumblr media
we love Kendall Knight and appreciate everything he does. one of the best characters in the history of nick shows.

Chief John Smith (likely born between 1822 and 1826, though allegedly as early as 1784; died February 6, 1922) was an Ojibwe (Chippewa) Indian who lived in the area of Cass Lake, Minnesota. In 1920, two years before his death, he appeared as the main feature in a motion picture exhibition that toured the US, featuring aged Native Americans.
At the ripe age of 137, White Wolf a.k.a. Chief John Smith is considered the oldest Native American to have ever lived, 1785–1922.
The Minneapolis Morning Tribune obituary says Ga-Be-Nah-Gewn-Wonce (variously known as Kay-bah-nung-we-way, Sloughing Flesh, Wrinkled Meat or plain old — well, really old — John Smith) was reputed to be 137 years old when he died. Whatever his precise age, his well-lined face indicates a man who led a long and full life.

LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!
Hi Taylor! I’m Christine and I can’t wait to see you at Minneapolis night two on September 1st!! This will be my second time seeing you but the first time (and only time) at the Reputation tour!
I had the amazing opportunity of seeing you on the 1989 tour in Nashville! My parents and I travelled 548 miles to see you! I even skipped my freshman homecoming football game and dance to jam with you for the first time! It was the best decision we’ve ever made! This time my parents and I decided to travel 333 miles to Minneapolis for reputation and none of us can wait!
The day we see you is actually the first day I can send in my college applications to the school’s in my state! Can you believe that I started listening to you when I was 6 and now I’m 17 and about to apply for college?!
When I found out that we had gotten tickets (my dad was on a plane in Seattle trying to get them!) I couldn’t wait to make my sign and costume! I knew I wouldn’t be able to avoid tour spoilers so I embraced them instead and decided to make the LWYMMD/End Game tour outfit because I love it so much! Actually, I have to give my dad a lot of credit. He did all of the sewing while I did all of the gluing! My mom, my dad, and I will be sitting in Section 132 Row 18 Seats 17-19 and we are super excited to see you again! ❤️ @taylorswift @taylornation

Taylor Swift Delivers Empowering Speech Ahead of Rare 'Tied Together With a Smile' Performance: 'Just Try to Be Kind to Yourself'
September 2, 2018 by Ashley Iasimone
Tumblr media
Kevin Mazur/TAS18/Getty Images for TAS
Taylor Swift performs onstage during the Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour at Gillette Stadium on July 26, 2018 in Foxborough, Mass.
Taylor Swift is taking fan requests to heart this tour, sprinkling rare songs from her collection into the acoustic portion of her Reputation Stadium Tour set. Her surprise song choice at her latest concert, where she acknowledged that longtime fans want to hear old songs, was particularly touching.
Saturday (Sept. 1) in Minneapolis, Minn., Swift played country balled "Tied Together With a Smile," a song from her 2006 self-titled, debut album that probably hasn't seen her stage for a good 10 years.
"Hold on, baby, you're losing it/ The water's high, you're jumping into it/ And letting go, and no one knows/ That you cry, but you don't tell anyone/ That you might not be the golden one/ And you're tied together with a smile/ But you're coming undone," Swift sings on the poignant track that she once told a journalist she wrote "about one of my friends, who is this beauty queen, pageant princess — a gorgeous, popular girl in high school. Every guy wanted to be with her, every girl wanted to be her. I wrote that song the day I found out she had an eating disorder."
But before Swift began to play "Tied Together With a Smile" Saturday night, she shared some meaningful advice with her fans, reminding those in the crowd that they're not alone in whatever struggles they may encounter in their lives.
"One thing I have noticed in my life is you can never judge what somebody else is going through, even if they seem like they have it all together, they seem like, how can they ever have any problems?" she said on one of the B-stages at U.S. Bank Stadium. "Somebody is maybe really beautiful or seems like they have it all together, maybe they have a life that you're really envious of."
"But I've learned that appearances aren't everything," Swift added. "Just because somebody looks happy doesn't mean they are. Just because somebody looks healthy doesn't mean they are."
She continued: "There's so much pressure on everyone these days to have it all together, to have a perfect body, a perfect life, to know exactly where they want to go with their life. I think the stress and the pressure of not being able to say that they're hurting has really taken a toll on a lot of people. So I'm just asking you, just try to be kind to yourself. Just know that there are so many people that are going through the exact same thing that you might be going through, whatever it is."
Hear Swift's 2018 performance of "Tied Together With a Smile" and her speech in the fan-filmed clips below.
