i think if i make a machine girl inspired jacket i could . . .

- write quotes on the front

- probably try painting any of their album covers on the back (wlfgrl and u-void come to mind)

but i also like the idea of creating my own inspired design since i feel like their album covers have such a distinguishable style

there is also a part of me that very much wants different jackets inspired by different albums/eps. Specifically, gemini and reporpoised phantasies. pastel-dyed jacket with a fuck ton of patches and pins . . .

but all that aside, “machine-girl-inspired” can very well just be something that’s fun, wacky, and a little eccentric. that much alone is actually kind of giving me ideas !

if i make it, i will most likely post it, but i doubt i’ll make it any time soon (completely booked with schoolwork…)

The Enigma of Heaven and Other Daily Delusions by Hakita (2023, NYP (Name Your Price/pay what you want)) - Breakcore with themes of Christianity and paranoia. Layers of organ and harpsichord mesh with fast-paced drum beats. Favorite track - The Senselessness of Endlessness: Returning to an Empty Apartment with a Grocery Store Guardian Angel

3D Virtual Buddies by Dream Puzzles (2021, NYP) - Electronic/pop with a 2000s internet theme. Friendly, nostalgic tracks with melancholic undertones. Favorite track - My CRT and I'm Real, I'm Alive

Agnes & Hilda by Patricia Taxxon (2022, NYP) - Bright, sharp, and unapologetic furry hyperpop. A good introduction to Patricia's work, with its catchy compositions and fresh lyrics. Feels like pop rocks. Favorite track - Overijssel

UGLY DEATH NO REDEMPTION ANGEL CURSE I LOVE YOU by Ada Rook (2022, $8) - Industrial album that scratches the same itch as Machine Girl with its throat-destroying vocals and raw, cathartic sound. Favorite track - 999999999 IN A DREAM

She Was Sharp as the Name of Needles by Hakita (2023, NYP) - 40 minute ambient drone track performed by Hatsune Miku. Hakita's longform tracks continue to be uniquely engaging.

hello hello!! i discovered your site recently and saw you were asking for recs!! i don't listen to a lot of DnB specifically but i do listen to a lot of hardcore breaks which is a very closely related genre! My recs are: bye2, machine girl (specifically gemini,wlfgrl, and reporpoised phantasies, their other albums are digital hardcore which is awesome too but might not be your thing), casper mcfadden, and golden boy :D

thank you very much!!! i went ahead and listened to bye2's metamorphose and it was pretty cool though i found that while pretty neat to listen to, its not exactly my thing. but still i found bye2's work pretty interesting and there were some songs i did really like (Injection V Slug Pharmacy, PuyoPuyoPuyyo, Infinite Isopod) so i will be listening to their other releases eventually :D

and previously to this ask, i had listen to machine girl's wlfgrl! and i pretty much had the same reaction 😭 not exactly my thing but still a pretty cool listening experience. BUT i will say that i do really love their work on the neon white OST. That type of style would be something a bit more closer to what im looking for i'd say!

but thanks a ton for the recs nonetheless!! even if it isnt my cup of tea, i still like listening to them cus it helps me identify and learn more about subgenres im not very familiar with. bye2 was a very fun discovery and i'll def check out the other two artists at some point as well! yay music!!!!! peace and love on planet earth
