Scratchings of the Phonograph

*(Are you sure about this?) *(Are you implying we should’ve gone with the first option?) *(What? No!) *(Then yeah, I’m sure!)

Wander glared down at the object of his frustration, as though he could intimidate into functioning. Yet the vintage phonograph he salvaged from the dump remained inoperable. It was as if the days he spent disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling the blasted thing didn’t matter at all!

*-Knew you’d be more trouble than you’re worth.-

Hm, nope. Grumbling still isn’t fixing it either. With the only other option available likely to end in their incarceration, there really wasn’t a point in debating the issue. Not that there was a point in the first place, Wander was just delaying the inevitable. He never was all that thrilled at the prospect of meeting an unknown element. But dammit, he wanted those hours of maintenance and cleaning to mean something! So Plan B it was!

Plan B of course consisted of visiting the local handyman. The amalgam had seen him a few times in Snowdin, a cat monster making trips to the various businesses and residences. Seemed a decent enough sort, though he usually looked less than pleased whenever he went to Grillby’s. Wander had a sneaking suspicion that it had nothing to do with paying a tab.

So the goopman did what any recluse is obligated to do when approaching a new person. Make things a tad bit awkward! The next time William left his home Wander would be waiting for him, sitting by the edge of the road with the phonograph. The moment he was in sight, the becloaked creature waved and called out.

Dax had loaded a satchel with some extra special supplies for this trip. Two datacards, one loaded with curated pictures of the Nuvola’s repaircat army, and one of the sunsets you can only get footage of from cloud height. Also some actual important documents with recognizable use, but those were important in a different way. He was supposed to be bringing those on his way.

He’d have brought coffee from one of his other stops, but had decided against it as he knew anything strong enough for Alia to enjoy drinking it probably wasn’t allowed to cross borders without extra paperwork. He knocked on the door, wondering if maybe he should have sent a message ahead that he’d be coming. Too late now.

idk if anybody remembers it but I had a funny fake concept that CATS the musical is canon to Doctor Who but I got too attached and now I have a DW OC named Munku. She’s an engineer wannabe and the granddaughter of Munkustrap (on her mom’s side) and Thomas Kincade Brannigan (on her dad’s side)

Yes of course she’s a companion. She’s friends with the TARDIS bc she likes machines and introduced herself to Sexy. She lives on New Earth but dreams of becoming the repaircat for an exploration crew.

You said that in your PO3 AU Brackenfur and Dustpelt would still be the Clan's top repaircats. Will they still have the same motives for bonding together as in canon (sorry if I'm sounding vague, but I just don't like to talk about and don't even fully accept it as canon, really)?

They're mostly buddies because of their shared interest in den repair! Nothing sad behind it like in canon - I think I know what you mean and it's definitely not the same situation. They're just the best den builders and end up working together on it a lot. Even when Dustpelt retires, he still likes to throw himself into a day of reinforcing a wall.
