this is such a specific pet peeve but the error message "slow charging, please use the cable provided with this device" drives me insaneeee like hello you are the device. give me numbers. tell me how many amps you want so i can buy whatever damn cable i would like to buy stop trying to force me to use your proprietary accessories by making it inconvenient to find information about the electronic devices that i myself purchased and now own
#ohhh but we'll scare consumers if we throw jargon at them we have to treat everyone like they're an idiot baby who can't do shit#numbers are so scary everyone will just stop using their phones forever if we educate them about how they work#like not to sound conspiratorial but sometimes i think tech companies deliberately discourage people from learning more about technology#because if everyone knew how their phones worked they could make more informed decisions about them#and then they wouldn't rely so much on services like apple's repair shit#so it's not in apple or samsung etc's best interest for consumers to really understand anything about their phones#just keep buying the brand name charging cables don't worry about why#bri babbles

my phone gets drunk at least once a month (gets drenched in beer by accident and stops working for 1 to 2 days) which is incresibly inconvenient but also nice because i can disconnect from social media for a whole ass day!
#except one time a drop of water fell on it and it stopped working as i was leaving work#and i was going to meet my friend in the big plaza in the city#and i literally left work and couldn't call her or do anything at all with my phone#she called me and i couldn't take the call#and so i just walked around the plaza looking for her#and then miraculously found her somehow and like i couldn't even uber home or anything#now i'm using my old phone#but idk if he will be fine this time... pray for me#like it's been 1 day in rice and nothing#just so you understand the phone is fine#simply the screen touch doesn't work#i think it's a safety measure from samsung cuz the old one caught water in the camera and it didn't open#untjl after it fully dried the phone wouldn't open the camera#so i guess it has some kind of sensor to know if it's wet inside and not let you use it so it doesn't break for real bc of heating and stuff#but idk i hope he becomes ok bc i don't have money for a new phone nor a screen repair

which phone model you use? your pics have gorgeous quality omg
I've got a Samsung s22 ultra :) honestly I have a lot of beef with the cameras/software on it. Samsung has some weird like post photo taking editing it does like it adds HDR and increases texture and shit often like, for instance, it makes flapjack look Extra Textured when he is Regular Textured in real life and looks Regular Textured in the photo preview. It also struggles to focus with the front camera in even slightly low light like just constantly refocuses when nothing is being moved to prompt it to need to.
sorry I know you didn't ask for a full review, but I honestly preferred my note 10+. I also know they've done AI kind of things without user permission/without a setting to turn it off with moon photos in particular and I don't think they've done away with that. which I don't care about that as a feature that can be turned off but uh, as someone who is very familiar with and comfortable with dslrs and photo editing and like having control of at LEAST the editing process, I wanna be able to turn it off.
so yeah I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately.
#also currently have to send it in to Samsung for a failed cellular module that I still suspect is software because it happened right#after the last UI update#I am very sad about it#I do iPhone repairs at my job and genuinely think they're significantly better phones hardware wise as well as repair quality and ease wise#to clarify the cellular module failed hw diags so... idk maybe a firmware update fried it#idk how phone software works lol

I work in smart phone repair and am surprised at how often people come in and don't automatically know what model their phone is. So I made a poll!
(Model examples: iPhone XR, iPhone 13 Pro Max, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Motorola G Stylus, etc.)
And if you do know, tell me in the tags!

Okay, so... not what many of you hoped but right now... I need electronic pros to help me. Some of you might not see it, but I have a long scratch on my fitbit, and I need advice to repair it (I had 2 smaller ones, and I used a white eraser and fixed them)
Then there's my Samsung s23 ultra phone... ( I pretty much dropped it, and now I have a small scratch/ crack? So if anyone has an idea with a home remedy that 100% works I would greatly appreciate the help

Update! My Fitbit no longer has a scratch thanks to the magic eraser trick so now it's good as new!

So now i just need to fix my phone. I contacted the place i bought my phone in the hopes they can help find a solution to fix this but so far nothing so any advice will help!

But does it have a headphone jack?
(No.)
There are two configurations available: one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $599 and another with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $679. The storage of both models can be expanded via microSD, and the phone features a modular design that can be easily disassembled using a standard Phillips #00 screwdriver to replace broken components. It also has an IP54 rating, meaning the device is protected against dust and water sprays.
The Murena Fairphone 4 will ship to US customers with 5G and dual SIM support, a removable 3905mAh battery, a 48-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide, and a 25-megapixel selfie camera. The phones will be available to order exclusively from Murena’s webstore starting today.
#for $700 give me a headphone jack#do it#anyway nice idea#but definitely appears to be an issue with longevity and finding accessories if you go offbrand#i would do serious research on this company; their customer support; the phone; and feasibility for you personally to repair it#before burning your wallet#also i couldn't care less about Google-free software if i don't have a headphone jack and a jaw dropping phone camera#if that camera isn't on the level of the Samsung phones then it can take a hike for that price#phones

How to Recover Deleted Data on Samsung Galaxy Phone?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/354b5336b58485f3ec825c471b47e94e/35a130a5878489aa-63/s540x810/dd3e179f20afe89323ebb6da5bf92144ac62210d.jpg)
Lost your data and want it back on your phone? We’ve got you covered. Losing all your data on your Galaxy phone can cause a moment of panic. Know that you’re not alone. There are many who have been through the same struggle.
This is why we have listed some of the best tips to recover data from your Samsung Galaxy phone –
Examine the Recycle Bin: The File Manager software on Samsung smartphones frequently has a Recycle Bin. Before being permanently deleted, deleted files are kept here for a short while. Locate the Recycle Bin in the File Manager and look for any missing files. Just pick them out and restore them if they are present.
Check Your Samsung Cloud: You can recover erased files from your cloud storage if you have enabled Samsung Cloud backup. Select Restore data under Settings > Samsung Cloud. Decide which backup to use and which files to restore. If you’re still unable to recover data, you can always turn to Samsung phone repair services.
Use a Data Recovery Tool: A number of third-party data recovery solutions are accessible for Android smartphones. These applications can look through the internal storage on your phone and try to retrieve deleted items, such as pictures, movies, messages, etc.
Consider Professional Assistance: If everything else fails, you might consider hiring mobile phone data recovery services. Thanks to their specialised equipment and knowledge, data recovery experts can retrieve data from even seriously damaged devices. This choice, though, can be pricey.
Point to Note:
A number of variables, such as the kind of data erased, the amount of time since the deletion, and whether or not new data has been written to the device's storage, affect how well data recovery works.

When Is Mobile Phone Screen Replacement Covered by Insurance?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1c52d06edd7715b59a32b5327659c6c1/6fcfd082886ee6ec-e9/s540x810/3d170d19b9fc703d4699c03b3cca37bb0fa143a7.jpg)
In today’s fast-paced world, mobile phones are not just communication tools; they’re indispensable devices that store memories, assist in work, and connect us to the digital world. However, accidents happen, and a cracked or shattered screen is one of the most common mishaps. If you’re in Australia and facing such a situation, you might wonder, “Is mobile phone screen replacement covered by insurance?” Let’s break it down.
Understanding Mobile Phone Insurance
Mobile phone insurance is designed to provide coverage for damages, loss, or theft. However, not all policies are created equal. Coverage depends on your insurance provider, the policy’s terms and conditions, and whether you have purchased the insurance through your telecom provider, a third-party insurer, or as part of your home and contents insurance.
Scenarios When Screen Replacement Is Covered
Accidental Damage: Many insurance policies include accidental damage coverage, which typically covers a cracked or shattered screen. If you accidentally drop your phone, resulting in screen damage, your insurance policy may cover the repair or replacement costs. Ensure you report the incident promptly and follow the insurer’s claim process.
Comprehensive Mobile Insurance Plans: Comprehensive plans usually offer extensive coverage, including screen replacement. These plans may cost more than basic ones but often provide peace of mind for costly repairs.
Manufacturer Insurance Plans: If you’ve purchased an extended warranty or insurance directly from the phone manufacturer, such as AppleCare+ or Samsung Care+, screen replacements are generally included. These plans often come with a deductible or service fee for repairs.
Home and Contents Insurance: Some home and contents insurance policies cover mobile phone damage, including screen replacement, if the incident occurs within your home premises. Check your policy details to confirm whether this applies.
Scenarios When Screen Replacement May Not Be Covered
Negligence or Intentional Damage: Insurance policies typically exclude coverage for damage caused by negligence or intentional acts. For instance, if you leave your phone in a hazardous place and it gets damaged, your claim might be denied.
Wear and Tear: Regular wear and tear, including minor scratches, is not covered by insurance. Coverage is generally limited to sudden and unexpected damage.
Lack of Coverage in Basic Plans: Some basic insurance plans only cover loss or theft and exclude accidental damage. It’s crucial to choose a plan that meets your needs.
Steps to Ensure Your Screen Replacement Claim is Approved
Review Your Policy: Familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions of your mobile phone insurance policy. Know what is covered and the associated deductibles.
Document the Incident: Provide a detailed account of how the screen was damaged. Include photos if possible to support your claim.
File the Claim Promptly: Most insurers have a time frame to file claims. Delaying the process could lead to rejection.
Use Authorized Repair Services: Some insurance policies require you to use authorized phone repair centers for screen replacements. Ensure you adhere to this to avoid complications.
GR Phones: Your Trusted Partner for Screen Repairs

Whether your insurance covers the replacement or you’re paying out-of-pocket, GR Phones offers high-quality services that restore your device to its original condition. Final Thoughts
