This is the most ahistorical shit I've ever seen. It's been documented for years that medical bone specimens, let alone older ones, are not ethically sourced. Most bones used in circulation in western medical universities are in fact a result of graverobbing from india.

It takes fifteen seconds of googling to realize that the vast majority of medical bone specimens are a result of graverobbing, ESPECIALLY old ones. These bones were not donated. You cannot know if bones were donated unless you can provide documentation from the donor which this asshole doesn't.

This article explains how the biggest "official" medical supplier of bones in the world deals mainly in stolen bones. Read the article. Stop fucking lying because engaging seriously with structural racism and imperialism makes you uncomfortable.

Okay so here is the link to the bone guy explaining the origins of his collection. He does say many of them came from India during the period where the government allowed people to donate their bodies to science.

However, the Indian bone trade specifically has a history of being extremely unethical. It's essentially a system that allows graverobbers to fish human bones out of the earth after floods and sell them en-masse to medical institutions who will look the other way while fixing the remains with fake papers.

A Visual Poem Inspired By Some Of The Most Resilient Women On Earth

Women’s rights activist Zainab Salbi, founder of Women for Women International, has worked with some of the world’s most resilient women ― women who have experienced the horrors of war, survived extreme poverty, bravely spoken their truths and transcended their pasts. Inspired by these indomitable spirits, Salbi wrote a poem that appears in If You Knew Me You Would Care, a book she collaborated on with renowned photographer Rennio Maifredi.

In the above video from “SuperSoul Sunday,” Salbi reads her powerful poem aloud as Maifredi’s striking images showcase the strength and goodness in these female survivors. 

What if I’m not sadness?

What if I’m not grief?

What if I’m not my victim’s story,

Nor am I my pain?

  What if they are all part of me,

But not fully me?

What if I am just me?

  What if I’m joy without reason,

Happiness in all seasons?

What if I am love for all?

What if I laugh for no reason and all reasons?

What if they are all part of me?

  What if I don’t hate my enemy?
