Dancing on the streets of Dubai - Shraddha Kapoor, who is all geared up for the film has been busy with dance rehearsals. Ever since the film Street Dancer was planned, it has been in the news for many reasons. The film, which is an unofficial third part of ABCD series, initially roped Katrina Kaif opposite Varun Dhawan. However the actress was replaced with Shraddha Kapoor — who was the heroine of ABCD 2 as well. ABCD 2 was based on the story of India’s dance group The Kings, which now went on to win the World Of Dance competition earlier this week. “Now the makers of Street Dancer want to make the film bigger. So, they are now shifting the second schedule of their film to Dubai. The first schedule was held in London and the second schedule was to be held in Mumbai,” says a trade source close to the film. The source also adds that the Kings United dance group — which was an inspiration to the previous part, is also keen to up the ante. “The film is already being shot on 3D by director Remo D’Souza. They also have Prabhu Deva and Nora Fatehi in the film and there will be a half a month shoot in the Emirates where some important scenes will be canned to make the film look bigger and better,” adds the trade source. Street Dancer is expected to release in November this year and the actors have been frequently sharing stills from the shoot saying how excited they are about the film. Dance has been a childhood passion: Shraddha Kapoor on International Dance Day - Within a short span of time, Shraddha Kapoor has matched steps with the best in the industry As early as two or three years of age, all it needed was her parents to put on some music, and Shraddha Kapoor would get up to shake a leg. “My earliest memories while growing up — I mean, as early as I can remember being on my feet — are of dancing. Dance has been a passion of mine since then,” she recalls. Although she did indulge in short stints of training for various forms, the Stree actress never ended up learning it formally. “In school, as part of the curriculum, and like any other kid, I did a bit of whatever dance was required of us. So, I learnt a bit of Kathak.  Then I joined Shiamak Davar’s and Ashley Lobo’s classes for extremely short spans of time. At Boston University, I was a part of the college dance group called Chankaar and there are many precious memories of the same,” she adds. However, it was when she was cast in Remo D’Souza’s ABCD 2 (2015) that Shraddha got an extensive opportunity to explore dance. “There were so many styles that we learnt a bit of — locking, popping, whacking, krumping and house, to name a few,” she tells us. The actress, who is currently filming Street Dancer with Varun Dhawan, reveals that these forms are being re-explored in this movie as well. “It’s been super-challenging, especially because one needs a lot of practice, years and skill development to be able to dance really well. It is a lot of hard work,” she admits. Right from Dance Basanti in Ungli (2014) to Milegi Milegi in Stree (2018), Shraddha has been a part of some of the most popular dance numbers. Not to forget, she has matched steps with some of the best in B-Town, including Tiger Shroff and Varun. Remember Cham Cham in Baaghi (2016) and Sun Saathiya and Bezubaan Phir Se in ABCD 2? “Whatever love and appreciation I’ve received, I’d attribute it to the little bit of dancing I did while growing up and to Remo sir as well as his team that focussed on me during the prep of ABCD 2 and now, Street Dancer,” she adds. Shraddha, who counts Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Varun and Tiger among the best dancers in the industry today, says that while she has become better at her skills, she is never satisfied with herself and wants to keep improving. “I make sure that I enjoy everything that I do, because that is the only way to do anything you love,” she signs off. Remo D’Souza is a reputed Indian Choreographerand director of the Indian Film Industry. He was born on 2 April 1974 in Olavakkode, which is located in the Palakkad district of Kerala. He was named their baby Ramesh Gopi by his parents K. Gopi, and Madhviyamma. K.Gopi being an Air Force officer, wanted his son to pursue the same and thus got him admission to Air Force School in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat. During his school time, Remo D’Souza was interested in athletics and has received prizes for 100-meter races. But as the student reached 12th standard, the teenager understood that the lad has a different dream in his eyes. The boy desired to be a dancer, and for which he skilled himself with numerous types of dance via several movies and music videos. The teen cherished to mimic Michael Jackson and as well as considered the legend as his guru. The emerging artist was inspired by the motivational stories of famous personalities who were associated with dance.

The youngster would create his own choreography by adding new steps. At the age of 19, the boy expressed the desire to have a dancer career in Bollywood to his parents. The father of the teenager opposed, but his mother supported him to fulfil the wish. Subsequently, Remo D’Souza went to Mumbai for building his career, but during the initial days, the dreamer had no income. The only thing he had was the generous family with whom the man lived. Then, he began dance classes with the name Super Brats at Churni Road for his living. His first-class had only four students, and slowly the quantity elevated with the passing day. Later along with two of his friends, the emerging dancer started two branches, one at Borivali and the other at Andheri. The young guy struggled to get a smash in a movie for taking one step towards his motivational story, and hence, in 1995, he got the chance as a background dancer.

One day, Remo D’Souza went to choreographer Ahmed Khan for an audition and requested the senior artist to select him based on his performance and not his skin colour. Fortunately, he was chosen and then became the assistant of Ahmed Khan. But soon, Remo D’Souza parted from his senior to try choreography for music videos. In 2000, the artist laboured as a choreographer withinside the movie Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar. The dancer made his directorial debut with a Bengali film called Lal Pahare’r Katha in 2007. In 2011, he directed his first Bollywood film F.A.L.T.U. with gifted casts, consisting of Ritesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. Later, the creative man went on to direct films like ABCD- Any Body Can Dance, ABCD 2, The Flying Jatt, Race 3 and Street Dancer. The talented dancer has also produced films that include DOA: Death of Amar, Nawabzaade and Street Dancer 3D. Remo D’Souza won his first award in 2011 for the film Enthrian, and the prize was titled Best Find of the Year. In 2014, he received numerous awards for choreographing the song Badtameez Dil of the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani from Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards and Producer's Guild Film Awards with the title of the Best Choreography. Then, the talented man won the National Film Award, Producer's Film Awards and International Indian Film Academy Awards for the Best Choreography for Bajirao Mastani and in 2016. He achieved the Best Choreography title in the sixty-fifth Filmfare Awards for the film Kalank in 2020.

Remo D’Souza had a heart attack on 11 December 2020 and was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai. Prays of his fans and family helped him to recover quickly. Soon after recovering from his illness, and plans to provide fantastic movies and dance numbers to Indian Cinema.
