30 day studyblr challenge day 17
do you like to study in groups or alone?
Remi:
I love to study alone when it’s something I’m more confident in, or when I’m consolodating learning I already know, but when it comes down to learning content I like to be able to talk through concepts with others to understand it properly
Violet:
I’m a big fan of parallel play aka accountability partners, where we all do our own work, only we’re there to make sure the other focuses on their work. I’m not great at the focusing thing, so I love to have people near me who can help. Plus I feel awkward when people around me are doing work but I’m not, so I get to trick myself into working!

so um we missed a day
whoops
blame brian and vladimir they’re being absolute bitches and not letting us do anything - in fact, we’re gonna blame them for everything. The recession? briadimir. The reason violet can’t find a good hot cocoa place at college? briadimir. The reason remi is lying on the floor typing this out? briadimir.
anyway have two in one post
30 Day Studyblr Challenge Days 13 and 14
what is your favourite book/movie?
Remi:
My favorite movie is technically not a movie bc I don't watch them, but I love Starkid's musical Twisted and its my comfort watch. My favourite book recently is The Binding, though I very much enjoy Atonement too.
Violet:
My favorite movie has to be Into the Spiderverse and I just don’t have a favorite book anymore - I’m illiterate now <3
show your neatest and messiest handwriting

Hi!! Just found your blog. The chaotic energy is great. What's your favorite lab you've done to date?
thank you so much, we strive to exude the energy we posess inside us, so I'm glad that's coming across! And ur question is the same as number 12 on our challenge so we’ll answer them both!
remi:
my favourite lab would have to be the 6 hour one where I soldered together and tested my first ever microcontroller - it was a very good and fun introduction to the lab kit, and I got something very useful out of it that I use throughout my degree! I also really enjoyed last year a lab on modulation and demodulation of signals in communication, as it was one of the best labs I've done which put the theory I'd been learning into real context!
Violet:
My favorite lab so far has been my biochem research lab - I’d been studying a plasmid insert called pHC01 which, when inserted into yeast cells, can make ethylene. It had a lot of cool possible uses including making biofuels, but unluckily covid hit so I wasn’t able to finish the project :(

30 Day Studying Challenge: Day 8
what time of day do you study best?
Remi:
I definitely study best in the morning, I work best when I wake up at a regular time and have a coffee, change, and get right into my work!
Violet:
I don’t really have a regular study session anymore - I used to be able to focus best past midnight but that doesn’t really seem to be the case anymore because I get too sleepy. I just study when I can now!

Day 7: Best part of your major?
I get to learn about something I'm interested in so most of the classes aren't so bad. And even tho we're taught everything in English (native language is Polish) I understand basically everything were being taught.

30 Day Studying Challenge: Day 6
what is your favourite part about your uni?
Remi:
My favourite part about my uni is probably its library - it’s big and old and it has some lovely studying spots! I’ve been spending loads of time there since it reopened post covid and I’m really loving the atmosphere there, especially when I manage to get a big window seat!
Violet:
Now I’m gonna sound like a copycat but my favorite part of my uni is my library too! It’s huge - lots of stories, so I love going onto the topmost one and looking out while I do work! I can never study in my room so it’s always great to go there!

30 Day Studyblr Challenge - Day 4
What is your favorite study snack?
Remi:
I do not want to sound boring, but unfortunately I don't snack in general, and especially not when studying as I find I can only focus on one thing at once, and a different taste would distract me! Sometimes things like chewing gum or hard boiled sweets can work, but only rarely when I have them.
Violet:
My favorite study snack is definitely popcorn, it’s great to mindlessly munch on while you mindlessly trudge on with the insane amount of work your professors have assigned :)

30 Day Studyblr Challenge - Day 3
Why did you decide to create a studyblr?
We decided to create our studyblr because we were already close friends, and both realised we had previously tried and failed to create our own studyblr as teens. Rather than trying to do it individually again, we decided to team up and give it another attempt, with each other as our motivation!! (I, Remi, spend more time yelling at Violet for pictures for the studyblr than being nice)
(Ps. violet wants to add that Remi is a meanie <3) (we thank violet for their contribution to the studyblr)

30 day studyblr challenge day 19
when in your life did you decide on your major/degree?
Remi:
I knew I wanted to be an engineer from a young teenage age, always knew I would take maths and physics a level, and then after doing work experience at an electronics company, found electronic engineering fit well with my other subjects (comp sci, further maths, chem!)
Violet:
I sorta decided on bio as a major in 9th grade but I decided on biochem in 11th grade.

30 Day Studying Challenge: Day 9
what is your go-to study drink?
Remi:
I’ve been limiting myself to one coffee and one tea a day, the other drinks having to be de-caff, and I usually go for coffee if I need a quick burst of studying, or tea if I am in it for the long haul!
Violet:
Definitely water or just juice - coffee makes me tired and I’m not a big fan of tea but a good sip of water can rejuvenate my brain!

30 Day Studying Challenge: Day 7
best part of your major/degree?
Remi:
I really like the maths side to my degree, and the flexibillity with which my course offers me! I am doing an electronics degree, yet only one of my 8 modules this year is an electronics one - i’ve been able to take computing and maths modules too. I really enjoy that I can widen my knowledge this way.
Violet:
I really love the research side of my major - it’s part of the reason I chose it actually, and I love working in the lab!

30 Day Studyblr Challenge: Day 2
What is your favourite stationary?
Remi:
It might be a studyblr cliche, but I absolutely adore my 0.5mm Muji gel pens! I’ve always struggled throughout my life with heavy writing, pressing far far too hard when I write. These pens don’t let that be a problem, unlike biros or fountain pens (trust me, I’ve tried!) I’ve used them for about 4 years now, and my recent ones have actually been the navy blue colour - which took getting used to, but I love it now!
Violet:
Ahhhhh I have so many I love! Firstly I can’t stop recommending my Pentel Energel pens in 0.5! I genuinely use them for everything, they write so smooth and dry almost instantly. The only issue is they tend to show up on the back of the page but I can deal with that because of how good those pens are! And ofc, I have to rec my mildliners - I know, they’re a basic studyblr bitch brand but I just adore the way they look when you’re taking notes. Finally, and this is the best one - crayola supertips! They’re so affordable and honestly higher quality than more expensive markers I’ve used. It’s just the best! (I know this was three but I couldn’t decide between them ok 😭)
