Wilbur

This simp...

Makes sure you regularly drain your drains, take your medication.

You dont even have to get the fuck up, I mean he's your personal butler until the doctor gave you the okay.

Three times a day you get a smoothie. He can tell that you dont want to eat because of the pain.

The least you can do is drink something to nurioush you while you were in pain.

If you're embarrassed about having to sleep on some dog pee pads for the drain. Dont be.

Wilbur may not understand but he will constantly comfort you. He'll even make a video to tell his viewers he won't be posting for a moment. A personal issues came up and that is all they know for now.

Also when cold he'll try to keep you warm by very, very gentle cuddles. But any sign of pain and he's off of you and getting you warm blankets and heating packs.

His sweaters? Now all yours. You have no say. He will give you one every day knowing you find alot of comfort in wearing his clothes.

The last thing he wants is you in pain. Especially if it was caused by him.

Your testosterone shot? Dont worry he's got it for you.

He doesn't want you to get up unless you needed to go to the restroom or you were itching to get up.

If you dont take it slow he will threaten you.

This is a threat. He will make you sit back down if you tried to get up and clean.

All in all he is a simp and your butler.

Technoblade

Technoblade may not know what to do but he will try.

He's quite nervous but when he realized you havent eaten and needed something in your system for your pain meds hell make you something soft and light on the stomach.

Are you cold? He'll cover you in a blanket and just sit next to you. Floof senses you in pain and cuddles you more then technoblade.

Techno was a bit butt hurt but knew that you needed alot of support right now.

With his height his clothes are either tight or loose. But his hoodies are always huge. And very fucking comfortable.

His scent relaxed you and helped you sleep at night.

He is a hidden simp.

He will make sure you're comfortable. If you want him to he'll sleep with you in the living room.

When you start walking him and Floof are constantly following you. Just to make sure you are safe and comfortable.

You cant help but love your two boys.

His streams and videos are already inconsistent but he did say his next video or stream might take a longer time.

But if you dont mind then you'll sit near him while he streams. If you needed anything he'll get it.

You saying hi to chat. They know you're in pain by your tone.

And anyone he's in a call with will ask what's up. And when you tell them they'll understand and they'll hype you up.

It warms techno's heart when his friends hype you up.

God this closeted simp is melting internally.

He will tease you.

Pictures are taken and spread around the internet like a wild fire.

But off camera he's quite the nice guy. Reminding you to drink your water, getting you soft foods or soups, heck he give you some of his pushies from his youtooz.

You are with him when he streams or records.

There is no say.

He wants to keep his eyes on you and make sure you are comfortable and safe.

Lowkey dragged you bed into his recording room, you were just vibing in the corner.

You meds are on a set schedule. If the time lands when he's on stream he doesn't think. Just gets up grabs your meds and a premade smoothie.

With that he gave them to you.

Watching you swallow that pill because you can be stubborn with pain meds.

Returns to the stream.

Yells at chat for calling him a simp. He told them you were in pain and it's the least he can do for you.

Will low key rub your back off stream. As sleeping while sitting up us hell on your shoulders.

Jambo is all over you, soaking up the attention he can get while you were immobile.

Schlatt would glare st him for taking away his S/O.

When it came to you wanting to walk he will let you.

If you hurt then this man would laugh and tell you to sit your ass down. You are going anywhere just yet.

He's gonna carry you when you are in as much pain.

He's tall and there is no stopping him.

It makes him feel a bit happier due to the fact you aren't hurting as much, and still getting to the place you needed.

Also he will hug you if he sees you are uncomfortable. The hug is very soft and unlike him.

But at least he is trying.

He also keeps his yelling down, doesn't want you to make too many stiff movements. It would hurt the hell out of you.

Tommy

Ok. Hear me out, butler.

He see the pain you are in and as one of his best friends he wont let you do anything.

Your parents were out of town after your surgery and it wasn't their fault their work called in suddenly.

So you were sent over to Tommy's for the three weeks they were out.

Tommy would let you relax on his bed, heck even sleep on it as well.

Doesn't care if your drains stain the bed. That's an easy clean up and he wants you to be comfortable.

He does still stream. Because it's something he does for a living.

But he'll try to keep it a bit quieter.

You once walked out of the room when he was streaming. You looked like a gremlin, hunched over while you had to take a piss.

When you entered you were greeted by wilbur, techno, and phil telling you they hope you heal fast.

"It only gets better from now on (y/n). Take it easy alright?"-wilbur

"Congrats mate, just relax and dont forget to focus on healing."-Phil

"Yo you got the surgery. Pog. Stay healthy (y/n)."-techno

You melted lightly. A small smile graced your face.

It brought you joy and there was nothing that could compare to it. Honestly.

It seemed almost every day someone tommy knew was hopi g a speedy recovery.

He once yelled at chat for saying you should suck it up.

"CHAT THEY JUST WENT THROUGH SURGRY. LEAVE THEM ALONE!"

You forgot that your parents were even out for those weeks.

Tommy would definitely understand slightly that it would hurt to constrict your chest.

"You cold?"

When you nod tommy is up and handing you one of his hoodies. They are big and comfy. Easy to put on too. So they are perfect.

His two dogs, Walter and Betty?

Expect them in his room curled around you. Dogs know when humans feel pain and when they need something to comfort them.

The stream kind of enjoyed that.

They got wholesome content from you and dog content.

Win win.

Tommy will make sure you have your meds.

If it lands during a stream he blacks out the camera and carefully gets you the things needed for it.

Get you a best friend like tommy.

They wont let you do much when in pain.

Tubbo

He doesn't fully know what to do. He went and spent a few nights over at your house.

Your parents asked his parents for help so they sent over tubbo.

They made a list but the poor boy couldnt read it.

"A sm-oosthie with their pain pill... what the hell is a sm-oosthie?!"

It took him calling tommy to ask him to tell him.

"Tubbo. It says smoothie and who is this fo-."

He hung up before tommy could finish and made the smoothie.

Your cat was quite cuddly.

When he walked in your cat was on your lap.

"Tubbo? When did you get here?" Oh yeah it was a surprise.

"Not too long ago. Your parents left and asked me to help."

He was doing it in all good.

But he scared you so badly.

He bought you a stuffed animal...

It was a huge minecraft bee. And by huge I mean huge.

Like here's the stuffed animal.

Ignore the child. I wished there was a better picture.

But yeah you get the point.

Tubbo may not know how to help you fully but he's trying.

Tommy came to visit with wilbur and phil.

Tommy was meeting up with them and you lived close to wilbur.

When they saw you laid up in bed, tubbo trying to find out how to help with your medication phil kinda went father mode.

You got homemade soup to take your meds.

Tubbo was quite happy to see you smiling and lightly laughing.

When they left you felt better.

Tubbo may not know how to do alot but he tried his best. And you loved every moment.

You got you best friend to help you. And nothing was better then that.

Ranboo

Ranboo spent the night and all you guys could do was joke about the pain.

The jokes were quite self deprecating too.

All night you guys were up.

You couldn't sleep because of the pain and he didnt want to sleep due to the fact he didnt want you to be alone.

So you two were sleep deprived and your parents were concerned. But understood you two didnt want the other to feel bad.

After you healed a bit your parents got called into work. Leading to you spending a few days over there.

Ranboo streamed a recorded with you in the back ground.

He forgot you were there once and he turned on face cam. There you were in the background nose deep into a book while wearing one of his hoodies.

You were freezing and your shirts were a bit too tight.

He just gave you one of his and that was that.

"Whis in the background?"-dono

"In the background?" He turned around to see you just reading your book.

"Oh. That's one of my friends. They had a surgery a week ago."-ranboo

He turned to you, "(y/n) say hi to stream."

Looking up you waved.

"My gay mind went brrr at the idea of no sacks of fat. Now body do the big pain."-(y/n) 2021

It brought a laugh to ranboo and his chat.

You joked through the pain. It was funny.

Dream

What is this I see? He's a simp indeed.

Low key he's answering your beck and call.

He's smothering you in love.

It may not be physical affection but it is still affection.

Your hoodies are replaced with his.

They are huge and comfy.

He saw something online that reminded him of you.

He said it was cute and decided you needed it.

You loved it. It helped you sleep.

Since sapnap lives with him he sends in sapnap sometimes because he's recording or has to get something that wasn't in the house.

Also when you found the zipper you unzipped it and found dream stashed some gift cards and little trinkets in it. Along with a note.

But you loved it. It was quite comforting that he gave his affection in these ways still.

Even if it wasn't physically.

Patches is on you 24/7.

She's cuddling you and being very gentle on you.

Low key she won't leave you though, she's following you everywhere, on your lap, sitting there when your on the toilet.

She's clingy. More clingy then before.

But it warmed your heart.

If george visits then he'll see a little gremlin making a b line to the bathroom.

All because the pain made your stomach feel upset.

And you hadn't eaten anything because of pain.

Dream is quick to rush in and see what's wrong.

You were sitting on the ground in the bathroom. Needless to say it didnt end well and you hated it.

"Baby. Do you want me to get you a smoothie and your pain meds?" You were grateful.

After leaving the bathroom you lightly hunched over you noticed the British man in your living room.

You watched his videos.

You waved lightly with a smile.

"Oh sorry (y/n) I didnt tell you george was coming did i?"

Your look told it all.

"Sorry you have to see me like this." You had the urge to apologize.

"No dont be sorry. Surgery is painful."-george

With a small nod you went back to your room and relaxed.

George

He didnt know what to do at all.

He answered your requests.

But he didnt know why you needed that thick ass blanket in the middle of the summer.

But now you have it.

Your stuffed animal that was left in the living room?

It's in your arms by your side.

He's sad it wasn't him in your arms but understood it would cause you pain.

He just lightly lays in your lap.

It brought you comfort and him comfort.

Your germilin ass tended you get up and walk at the weirdest time too.

Your are going to get a snack.

You are on your way to the toilet.

Your once more in the kitchen getting something to eat with your pain pill.

George slept through it and was confused when you weren't in bed like the doctors told you to.

He's quite meticulous with your meds and eating habits.

He doesn't push but makes sure you have something with that pill.

Hell try to help you with your bandages. But sometimes got queasy at the blood and stuff.

It was okay with you though.

You didnt mind that due to the fact that you too got queasy as well.

I think you guys sleep through this alot.

Wilbur and tommy visited.

You was shocked and confused when they had a few get well soon gifts.

Tommy got you a small fidget toy, just something to do with your hands sometimes.

Wilbur got you a few books and a small stuffed toy.

It was a orca.

You loved it but still loved the one that george got you.

He got you a little wooloo one.

It was something that was soft and easy to cuddle.

But the books wilbur gave you were amazing.

It gave you something to do for a long while. And it gave george some more cuddle time.

Other than not knowing what to do george was a great source of comfort.

Sapnap

Sapnap is a bit more experienced with it.

Kind of knowing what to do and all together he just know more then most people.

There is a regular schedule for you meds and so called meals, he changes out the dog pads if he notices them dirty. He knows how to maneuver himself next to you so there was no pain.

He also sucked up that he would be overwhelmingly hot and sat next to you under the blanket.You weren't nearly as cold because of that.

Also since sapnap lives with dream I imagine that dream pops in some times and so does patches.

You all were probably best friends as children. And people always thought that you and dream would get together.

Only because you two were more touchy.

But you saw him as an older brother, and took a liking to sapnap.

Dream was really suportive and saw you as a little sibling.

Dream probably saw you not doing to well and made you something to eat and brought your pain medication.

That was because sapnap was sleeping next to you.

Patches curled up between to two of you and dream brought in something you hadnt seen before.

A roll away bed.

This mother fucker got a whole new bed just so he could sleep in the same room as you and sapnap.

"Sapnap is a heavy sleeper. What if you need something?" He was correct.

You woke up to pain and discomfort.

Dream woke up but sapnap didnt.

You were mainly cold though...

How the hell were you cold with this man radiating radiation the heat of a thousand suns?

No clue. But probably the anesthesia since you were in sapnap room dream just opened the closet and tossed his hoodie to your lap.

You woke up sapnap when you put on the hoodie on accident.

He pushed up against your shoulder a bit more and draped his arm over your lap.

"What's wrong?" Sapnap mumble made you stiffen up. Dream seemed to fall back to sleep too.

"Just a bit cold." He lightly nodded into your neck.

"Mmmmmm. How though."-sapnap

"I dont fuckin know."-(y/n)

He let out a sleep chuckle and seemed to fall asleep again.

You just sat there. Patches and sapnap on you lap technically.

Sapnap woke up and made you breakfast at some point. You were in and out of it due to barely any sleep.

Dream woke up as well. You didnt even know when they left. But patches stayed with you.

Those weeks you were treated the best with these two with extra cuddles from patches.

I didnt know there was a max amount of paragraphs. But hey I guess it's something you find out sooner or later. So there is going to be a part 2. Including some character I missed.

i like this one but after guessing 2 pairs everything mixes up and i lose instantly- i need to focus a shit ton to get a decent amount of pairs

animal jam trained me for this one (thank you 9 years old me) but once you find all the junk is not that motivating to re-play imo

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun s2 ep18

Was gonna post this days ago but I decided to do twewy-related stuff first lol.

Anyways, lots of pictures below again. At least 20, I think. Talks of ships below as well.

The last time we saw them, Iruma had jumped in front of the beast preparing to shoot a blast of magic in front of Ronove. Everyone else is worried but don’t know what to do cause if they tried to help, they’d get blasted, too. It seems though that Iruma himself has a plan.

Iruma plans to use Ali-san’s ability to swallow the huge amount of magic to eat the blast of it the beast is going to release saying he thought it was possible since Ali-san is the Ring of Gluttony. Arikured is surprised by this and complains at first but agrees he could do such a thing but Iruma's strength will be needed to succeed.

Remember that spell Iruma learned before about changing the appearance of something? Iruma uses that magic spell to turn Ali-san into this... cat thing. Giant cat thing idk so it could swallow the magic. Ali-san swallows the entire beast and let it explode inside him. Once it was over, the sky clears up, too. The plan totally worked and Ali-san is full!

Does this mean Iruma could use the power that got eaten from the beasts?

Trouble is over and Iruma gets together with his friends again. His friends were all worried about him though and Kalego-sensei came up to tell him he'd been reckless again. Iruma says he hasn't forgotten about what Kalego-sensei had said before at the home visit and that he had now finally understood what sensei meant. He was so used to danger due to almost always being in one himself that he never realized how bad such situations were until everyone else he cared about got affected. He adds that he gave it everything he's got even though he wasn't sure he'd even win because he wants to protect everyone and holding onto that ideal is part of his "desire".

I’m happy this arc helped some of them grow and show the growth of those who already have. Pretty cool.

Random screenshot but I just wanna direct your attention to fluffy Kalego-sensei who is being adorable right now. I cannot take him seriously when he’s like this and even when he’s angry, this form makes it look adorable.

Back to the story.

While all the mess is happening on the surface, Kiriwo-senpai has finally been found by the Six Fingers who are there to help him escape under the orders of Baal. The other escaping inmates are also in the area but still behind bars and Kiriwo-senpai tells them that he never planned to help them escape alongside him and never said he'd do such thing in the first place.

I kinda feel bad for them but they are also bad people so, eh.

Upon donning the same coat the Six Fingers' wear, one of the prisoners had the realization that unlike all of them there who are merely "bad", Kiriwo is actually "evil".

One of the Six Fingers asked why they couldn't just let the prisoners escape, too as it'll help in causing chaos and Kiriwo-senpai answers that seeing the despair the prisoners are gonna be in when they realize they'd never be let out despite going this far will be fun to see. Plus, they're not strong enough and will be caught again anyways.

I missed seeing Kiriwo-senpai’s evil hairstyle. It’s been a while. I guess this answers the question I had back in season 1: Kiriwo-senpai chose to be evil. Sad but I should’ve seen it coming.

Back on the surface, a parade starts and on the float are the heroes who saved Walter Park. While Iruma is properly mentioned, the owner, Rossevelt also shows off his son (Ronove does call him Legend-daddy as in the English word lol). The owner thanks Iruma for saving the park and calls him a hero.

They look alike except for the mustache and hair length. Anime genetics never fail. Does Legend-daddy also sing his own bgm?

Unbeknownst to our heroes, Kiriwo-senpai is around the corner watching the parade. He's surprised to find out that not only was Iruma also at Walter Park at this time but Iruma is also the one to defeat the beast. Instead of being angry at another evil plan foiled, Kiriwo-senpai says that this must be destiny and was happy to see Iruma. He was gonna walk out into the crowd but snaps out of this happy state by a call from Baal.

Senpai really blurs the line between love and hate cause he acts similarly when it comes to Iruma. Congrats to the fans of this ship for getting this scene and also, I still don’t know the ship name for them. How do I tag this?

Back to the phone call, Baal isn't happy that the park still stands. Walter Park is created to vent out demons' evil cycle after all and he has no need for that in his goals as he prefers that the demons go way beyond the evil cycle and just become ultimately evil. Unfortunately for him, the authorities are coming and they can't really do much else so he tells Kiriwo-senpai and the rest to escape already.

After being told to escape, Kiriwo-senpai says that this isn’t the end and declares that he and Iruma will meet again as they are destined enemies.

I guess in Iruma’s harem, he’s the “enemies to lovers” love interest lol.

Iruma looks at the direction where Kiriwo-senpai was but of course, he doesn’t see anything and he’s none the wiser.

Opera gives Iruma back his backpack at the float. As Iruma looks inside for his stuff, he finds the note his grandfather gave him of things he must do on his trip with the final one on the list being "Have fun with everyone!". Iruma looks at his smiling friends and thinks that even though a lot of scary things happened today, he still did have fun with them. Aww so cute!

Iruma gets reunited with his worried grandpa who goes to the hotel to check on him. Iruma says he couldn't go home early as Ronove's dad let them stay at the hotel as thanks for saving the park. Ronove’s dad adds that they are also Sullivan's students so he's happy to give them such things. Iruma tells his grandpa that he's happy and okay and that the teachers and Opera protected them. Grandpa Sullivan decided that the three adults would be given the job of protecting Iruma from now on (and Kalego-sensei felt a chill down his spine elsewhere in the hotel lol).

These two adults are the same. They probably won’t stop talking about their kids if you’re around them. Reminds me of FMA’s Maes Hughes (thought still makes me sad).

While the teachers are discussing information about the attacks, Kalego-sensei goes to his room to find his team on the bed making fun of the stuff he said earlier much to his annoyance. The boys said wanted to stay in the teachers' room as it's better than the room they got but Kalego-sensei quickly kicks them out.

The girls also get rewards and are allowed to get any clothes they wanted which made them happy. Ronove’s dad is pretty generous, huh? Like, I know these guys deserve it for all their hard work but the guy looks so happy that he’d probably still be nice to them even without all the trouble happening.

They are all also given an all-you-can-eat buffet. Iruma eats a ton of food obviously. Clara is having fun at the chocolate fountain thing and Ronove is trying to make Agares eat. Those two got close, huh? lol I wonder if Ronove’s doing this to try and make Agares unattractive or something. It’ll be cool if they became friends though with their very contrasting personalities and all.

While everyone is having fun inside, Iruma leaves without anyone else realizing except for Ameri who decides to follow. They end up at the rooftop by themselves with Ameri trying to calm herself down as she's thinking of romantic stuff as it’s just the two of them. Iruma then reminds Ameri of the question she asked him before about his goal and tells her he finally found one: he wants have fun with everyone. He's willing to change in order to be able to protect that ideal of his. Ameri is happy to see Iruma has grown.

Ameri decided that she also wants to give it her all for her own desires and ambitions. She then tries to tell Iruma something but sadly she gets cockblocked by Clara and Azz both appearing. Ameri gives up for now and tells Iruma to just go with his friends.

Before leaving, Iruma asks Ameri a question - the same thing she was going to ask him earlier! He asks if they could hang out sometimes but just the two of them and she passes out from this lol.

Congratulations to Iruma x Ameri fans for getting a scene like this, too. I also don’t know the ship name for them. Anyways, why is it just the senpais getting a moment with Iruma? Ameri has been getting a lot of moments, too and it’s making me wonder if she’s endgame.

lol also, Ameri is worried about the other female rivals not realizing there’s another threat somewhere else.

While all that teen drama is happening, both Romiere's dad and Iruma's grandpa are being interviewed on tv. The two men then tell everyone how their kids and those kids' friends are the heroes of Walter Park. Since Iruma's name had been specifically mentioned (with everyone knowing the heroes are "Iruma and friends"), there ends up being reporters outside the hotel wanting to see Iruma the next day. Iruma, of course, doesn't like this popularity. With the thought that there may also be reporters waiting at his home, Clara offers to let Iruma stay at her house.

Oooh... will we finally get Iruma x Clara and Iruma x Azz moments as well? Hehehe

I’m guessing this is the end of this arc? I wonder what the last one will be since we only have like, what, 6 episodes more? What kind of arc will it be, I wonder cause this one had battles.

Okay, the end where the heroes are mentioned to be “Iruma and friends”, I’m happy and surprised that none of the others were bothered by this at all. No one complained about why Iruma is the only one specifically named. It didn’t cause a fight between the entire group unlike what would’ve happened if this was any other story. I get why Iruma got proper credit as he is the one to end the incident and saved everyone around from being fried but his friends did a lot of work, too and it’d have been better if they were all credited properly in the news. None of them were mad though and are happy that they won because they did their best.

Ronove calling his dad “Legend-daddy” will never not be cute and funny to me. His dad, despite being rich enough to own this entire park, isn’t an annoying, arrogant asshole and I like that. I’m happy that most characters in this show subvert my expectations and they make me like them more.

I’m sorry if I don’t tag ships in my mairuma posts but I don’t know any of the series’ ship names lol. Speaking of ships, as I mentioned before, Ameri’s been getting a lot of moments with Iruma or focus on her growing feelings for Iruma. Kiriwo-senpai only showed up a bit in this arc and got a bit for himself, too. Kuromu and Clara only had a bit when Iruma went evil cycle and I wonder if they’d get more, too. I personally ship him with Azz so I wish they’d gets some moments as well. Eiko gets hers mostly on the “Interval” segments.

So... is it possible to have a mairuma dating sim or not? Look at how many routes are available! XD

Anyways, focus next time is on Clara’s family probably with Iruma spending time there. I expect another Valac Family musical! XD

I collect National Geographics and one of my oldest ones -- from April 1964 -- has a delightful article on cats: “The Cats in Our Lives” by Adolph Suehsdorf, photographs by Walter Chandoha

the entire article is a gem, but I thought the section on breeds would be especially interesting to @pangur-and-grim​ or really anyone that wants to see how cat breeds have changed over the past 57 years.

below are the photos of the breeds and their variants, and the accompanying descriptions. this is very long but I’m not putting it under a cut because I am malicious lol

Domestic Shorthair

interestingly, the author says that nearly all cats are this specific breed.

A free roamer and free breeder, it developed coats of many colors and patterns, such as the calico... Show standards of the Cat Fanciers’ Association recognize 20.

here are a couple examples of those variants, although they don’t appear to meet the standards listed with them:

Odd-eyed White must have one blue eye and one copper or deep orange eye. Her coat should be short, thick, even in texture, and pure white.

Tortoiseshell standard calls for a coat of black, orange, and cream. Nose should be half black, half orange; the eyes, copper. Males are extremely rare and usually sterile. 

maine coons are included in this section -- despite the acknowledgement that they don’t have short hair.

Maine coon cat -- a variant Domestic and not a recognized breed -- exhibits long hair and long neck. Early (colonialist) Americans erroneously considered her a cross between cat and raccoon; experts now believe that she descended from wild tabbies with long-hair genes. 

Persian

Pedigreed, pure-blooded, exotic breeds are catdom’s elite. Valued by exhibitors, or “the fancy,” no cat looks fancier than the Persian. Long glossy hair in 20 recognized colors, each color with a specific eye hue, gives the Persian a look of haughty languor. The standard for Persians calls for a chunky build, low on legs, deep in chest, massive across shoulders and rump.

Here Voo Doo, the Black Persian grand champion owned by cat judge Richard Gebhardt exhibits the qualities demanded for the head... Voo Doo’s expression here belies his gentle disposition. Unlike most males, the seven-year-old cat is devoted to his kittens and takes an active hand in helping their mothers raise them.

Chinchilla Persians achieve an aristocratic look with pure-white coats so subtly tipped in black as to seem silver. Black rims accent blue-green eyes, lips, and nose, whose center is brick red. Tail should be “carried without a curve,” says the standard. “But,” counters the author, “the man doesn’t live who can tell a cat how her tail should behave.”

Blue Cream Persian and her Cream kit arrive for a show in a carrying case.

Siamese

Lithe and sinuous body in two-tone color, wedge-shaped head, and bright blue eyes distinguish the Siamese. The C.F.A. standard recognizes four colors -- Seal (black-brown), Blue, Chocolate, and Lilac -- for the points... Red points are also recognized by other associations.

These Seal Points, exhibiting the most popular color, show eyes conforming to the standard: “Almond shaped and slanting... in true Oriental fashion.”

Blue Point Siamese, grand champion Jezebelle, wears a  coat of bluish white with points of the same shade of “definite blue, giving strong contrast of divided color.”

Lilac Point Siamese, champion Tai Shan, requires, for perfection, a body color of “glacial white.” Points, says the standard, should be “frosty gray with pinkish tone. Foot pads... mauve.”

Himalayan

Champion Goforth Tiara (right) and Blue Point Siamese differ in length of hair and color of masks. Seal Point Himalayan, a cross between Persian and Siamese, must show “conformation the same as for Longhairs,” says the standard. But it must also reveal “color and points the same as for Siamese, with the same color classes.”

Burmese

Mother and kittens reveal the Burmese to be compact and muscular... Their eyes glow a deep gold. Green eyes are a fault and blue eyes “outrageous enough to disqualify the cat”... The unique and wonderful color of the Burmese is a “rich, warm sable brown.” Coat is short, lies close, has a glossy sheen and satiny texture, Fastest growing in popularity among the Shorthairs, the Burm commands a handsome price.

Russian Blue

“Texture and appearance of the coat are the truest criteria of the Russian Blue,” says the standard in consideration of the fact that this cat’s fur is unlike that of any other breed and, in fact, closely resemble sealskin. Like seal, the Blue’s coat is short, thick, and very fine. It feels silky and has a distinct sheen.

Here Grigio, a Blue once owned by the photographer, exhibits the required broad face with nose longer than the Persian but shorter than the Siamese. Vivid green eyes are set wide apart and appear round, rather than almond shaped. Young cats have yellow eyes, which change with time... A highly intelligent cat, Grigio enjoyed jumping from one high stool to another in a graceful, arcing leap. Sometimes Mr. Chandoha held a hoop between the two stools, and the cat sailed through it. The performance made it appear that the owner had trained his Blue. “But that wasn’t true,” says Mr. Chandoha. “I just added the props for Grigio’s own act.” One day Grigio walked off the farm and disappeared from Chandoha’s life.

Abyssinian

A breed fast growing in popularity, the Abyssinian has been known for less than a century; England saw its first pair following a British campaign in Ethiopia in 1868.

These kitten exhibit coats that resemble those of wild rabbits. From a distance, the fur looks brown but actually is ticked... Kittens’ small neat feet make them appear to be standing on tiptoe, as the standard demands. Both wear a necklace of color high on the chest, a marking that is now being bred out of the blood line. If a necklace exists, it must show a break at the throat. Some ambitious exhibitors... “have been known to pluck hairs, to powder, dye, stain, or bleach out a necklace to meet standard.” Bars on the legs of these cats would also be considered a fault.

Manx

Lack of tail distinguishes the Manx. As the standard makes clear, “Tail-lessness must be absolute... There should be a decided hollow at the end of the backbone where, in the ordinary cat, a tail would begin.” The rump should be as round as a ball and supported by hind legs that are longer than the front one.

Grand champion Pola was the first White Manx to win that title. All colors are recognized for the breed, but they must be worn in a double coat.

Rex

Marcel waves rippling across the body and tail give this cat its unusual appearance. Although the Cat Fanciers’ Association has yet to recognize Rex, other groups have proclaimed it a breed and set up standards. The wavy coat should be the “texture of velvet pile,” and the head should exhibit a “Roman profile.” Ears should be “large and naked, set high on the head.”

A spontaneous mutation, the Rex is a one-in-a-million oddity found among Domestic Shorthair kittens. One was discovered in England, another in East Berlin. Both strains now are being bred in the United States. There are very few of them so far, however, and experts feel it will be years before they are well established.

2/4/2018 – No Contact:  I forgot to name this and I’d rather not reread this crap

So… Yesterday, I worked 8 to 12.  Came back… fell asleep.  Then I caught a stream.  Wasn’t productive.  It wasn’t that bad. Current time, 12:09.  Late, yeah?  Or early.

I’ve been catching up on Archer.  Or, rather, rewatching the series since the day before yesterday.  Really shouldn’t considering I have to watch it on normal speed… and Netflix doesn’t have the latest season.  Like, seriously, Netflix is nothing but inconveniences.  -,-

Regardless, I often wonder what character people would say I relate with.  Archer himself would be the obvious choice.  Thick, black hair, tall, charming, but also a terrible asshole that people kind of hate but tolerate.  Maybe?  I don’t know.  Oh, he’s something of a mama’s boy.

Dennis used to call me that.  He knew it got on my nerves.  His sister did too.  I let them, though.  Maybe I shouldn’t have?  I mean, Dennis was quick to talk about how offended and personal things were.  Something of a dramatic, I suppose…

Eh. Bad time to bring up Dennis.  I’m trying to work my way to Pam.

I don’t think I relate with Pam that much but she is one of my favorite characters.  She is… perhaps designed to be disgusting but she’s also very strong.  Not just physically, though that’s been shown but her character as well.  At times, at least.  This has been inconsistent now that I think about it.  Still, while getting tortured she just spits in their eyes and tells them they’d better just kill her.

Bold, to be sure.

Again, I like strong female characters.  Though, Pam is more humorous than strong.  And, of course, strong female characters tend to confuse strong with getting the shit kicked out of them.  Anyone can have the shit kicked out of them.  That doesn’t make them strong, it just breaks their ribs.

Rather, a good strong character doesn’t need to take a spot on the battlefield and fight alongside men.  No.  Rather, they need to be somewhat assertive and confident.  Like a queen leading a nation while invaded on several fronts.  Standing strong and leading. That’d be fine.

A strong male character doesn’t have to have a machinegun and mow down other men by the hundreds.  Action heroes will be less remembered than actual strong male characters.  Someone who is assertive, confident, and ready to take charge.

Of course, I do also like physically strong women.  Not so strong they’re more muscly than I could ever achieve but just someone who won’t get pushed over.  Ariel, for example.  Kickboxer, a bit shorter than me, and quick to defend what she loves.  She’s fierce in her own way.

Thinking about Dennis again.  Talking about strong male characters, I thought about examples (despite not listing them).  One Piece, an anime he loves came up.  Something I dislike about One Piece is that EVERYONE has a tragic backstory.  Fucking… no.  God no.  That’s dumb. Tragic doesn’t mean good.  You can have a good and compelling backstory that isn’t tragic.

Anyways, one of the characters had big lips.  I used to drink a lot of soda and that’s pretty unhealthy.  Made my lips swell a bit.  They were also kind of bright.  Dennis used to say I had “big nigger lips” which was actually his words.  I want to say he doesn’t hate black people.  I would say, “He’s not racist” but everyone is a little racist.  He probably said that for shock humor because that’s what I’m usually about.  Still, that made me self-conscious.  If you manage to find a picture of me, take notice.  If I’m not smiling with exposed teeth, then I’m biting my lip or tucking it into my mouth.  That’s how you can tell I knew a picture of me was being taken.

The reason I bite my lip is so I feel more confident.  I find myself with big lips rather unattractive.

He’s a Patriots fan.  Which is dumb.  Fucking bandwagon if I’ve ever seen it.  Or maybe there is another reason, I’m not sure.  They’re going to the superbowl.  I hate it.  I read somewhere that apparently, they league allowed the Patriots to go there again?  I’m not sure if that’s true or not but I’ve basically finished watching football.  I don’t have the time for it anyways.

Whatever. Talking about Archer.  Not talking about Dennis again.

Archer and I also both love cats and love Dodge cars.  Nice to see.  Small things.  Of course, he’s fit and I’m not.  I weighed myself yesterday… 249.  I knew I gained.  My mom… weakened my discipline maybe.  Spent so much money on FUCKING food.  And pizza was shit from yesterday, not sure I mentioned that?  Disappointing.  Like, legitimately tired of Pizza Hut.  I’ll stop getting Pizza Hut when I FINALLY have my free large pizza.  -,-

Of which, I thought I was closer than I really was to get it.  Fucking bullshit.

I’m going to have to really focus.  Get back on track.  My aunt is coming and she doesn’t speak english.  Sometime this month.  Fucking hell… I really don’t want to have to deal with my aunt, really.  I don’t want to deal with anyone.  The only thing stopping me from achieving what I need is myself.  However, the thought of other people tends to make me… hesitate.

I’m watching the episode where Archer gets a car for his birthday.  I’d love to get a Challenger, too…  I hope I can afford one someday but I doubt it.  I’d have to write a lot of books just to get a used Toyota.  I can dream.

During the Stream I was asked to write a poem.  The streamer, his name is NGParadox, lost his campaign.  I wrote something sort of for that. It was more specific… people loved it but I didn’t think it was very good.  That’s life, though.  I’m sharing it with Ariel.  I share almost all my poetry with her.

I promised my cousin that I’d drink Kambucha or whatever the fuck it’s called.  Both bottles.

Lol, fucking Archer.  “What year do you think this is?”  “Yeah, good question.”  That’s third wall breaking stuff right there.  It’s set in the 60’s 70’s and even 80’s with anachronistic details. They never specifically address when this is all taking place.  And for those who don’t know, anachronistic means incorrect to the time.  Meaning they have the internet and cellphones in the 1800’s for example.  You’ll see it a lot in depictions of historical events.

That said, I like how Archer has a sort of repetitive humor.  Like, all the characters are working off some hivemind or whatever.  I’ve always thought that was funny because it tends to begin with a character saying something that they’d normally say.  Then it follows by a character that won’t normally say it but wouldn’t be opposed to saying it.  Then it’s followed by a character that won’t say it at all normally.  Usually not in the same episode but not always.  I think that’s pretty funny, myself.

Oh, that reminds me.  Somehow.  Easter eggs!

No, not thinking about Easter but sometimes the show does fun easter eggs like that third wall joke (sort of, doubt it’d qualify though because it might fly over the head of someone who doesn’t pay attention). Most people know but an easter egg in the context that I’m using it is just a fun little joke that you have to look out for, usually in media.  I’m bringing this up because at work there are easter eggs. Where are they?

In the products.  Here me out.

There are these window curtains that are for sale.  There are a variety of styles, each with their own names.  One such name is “O’Hara” which is the surname of the main character Scarlett O’Hara.  She eventually becomes so poor she has to make a dress out of a window curtain to appear still well to do.  That’s a fun little touch.

Better yet, while stocking lipstick I discovered yesterday that one lipstick wasn’t called “Lustful Red” or “Tasteful Nude.”  Rather, it was called “What’s up, Doc?” which is a reference to Bugs Bunny because he’s always dressing up as a woman and putting on lipstick.  That is by far the best thing I have ever seen.

So, I want to start paying attention.  There are certainly bound to be more fun easter eggs like that.  Just gotta pay attention, is all.

I’m thinking…  I know the year Archer takes place.  Or at least, I know what year it can’t take place before.  The answer:  1974.  The reason for this answer is because all the Russian assault rifles you see are AK-47’s which were later replaced by the AK-74.  They fire different rounds and have different magazines.

The M16 is also available so it takes place between 1964-1974.  Of course, how accurate this is is hard to say.  Clearly the cell phone is a thing and that wasn’t invented until later.  However, that’s a specific anachronistic detail to more liken it to modern day.

Doing research for my nationstate is great… of which, I’ve neglected it as of late.  Gotta work on it a bit… rewrite a lot of lore.

Oh, KGB guy said he was working for the KGB for 30 years.  That’d place the time of the show at 1984 if he began the year the KGB started.

Oh, there is a picture in the background of the same episode of perhaps one of the crew members behind archer atop an image showing off the Soviet dress uniform at the time.  I remember in high school, I pasted my face over that same image for computer class.  It’s edited a bit, though.

Reusing character assets.  The waiter at the Chinese restaurant is the same character and voice actor as the original pirate captain.  Oh, and the face on the vacuum cleaner is an actress who shows up in a later season.

Next episode is in Space.  Walter helped me out while researching a lot on this one because my shitty cuba ripoff is Spacefaring and super technologically advanced.  White space suits are because it’s to keep radiation out or something?  Darker colors would be bad for the wearer which sucks because I wanted to do blue, which is my nation’s color (as is the color of every nation ever).  One thing to do is to have it be reflective so it’d keep out the radiation that way.  So, if I do a dark color it’d have to look somewhat cheap because it’d use reflective crap.  Neat stuff, right?

There’s more he told me.  He’s super into science.  I took some notes that were deleted a while back, but whatever.  Desalination plants have to be a thing in my country due to it being small island nation that’s grossly overpopulated.  Basically Taiwan.

So, Archer seems to have a very close relationship with anyone who has green eyes.  Weird things to notice.  Except for Krieger of course.

Episodes later, they mention a T-72.  So, that means the minimum year Archer takes place is in 1973 when it started service.  :D

Or, an easier way to determine the year Archer takes place in is to just figure out when Archer was born.  Then determine his age in the first season.  As time passes in the show, you can determine the year of the season.  Of course, there are bound to be inconsistencies.  We’d have to see to be sure.

One such inconsistency is that it’s 5:30 and just seeing it has made me incredibly sleepy.  D’oh!  Guess I’ll go to sleep now.  Talk to you… well, I want to say when I wake up but I’m not certain anymore.  Ta!

Found out my aunt is coming on the 17th.  I have 13 days.  Need to clean up.  Last night, I stayed up doing exercises while occasionally stopping to comment about Archer.

Getting close to tomorrow…  Six hour stream today.  Long.  So long.  Oof. Ah, well.  Part of the fun, I guess.  Something I’ve been doing is taking steps on stairs two by two.  Usually, I walk up each individual step like a normal person… Esther encouraged me to try doing two by two.  She did.  And now I’m doing it.  I don’t know why I didn’t before…  I’m surprised, really.  I don’t know what concerned me before.

Thinking about Esther… last Superbowl, the Patriots won.  I was with Esther then.  She laughed because she won a bet.  I apparently got so drunk that I blacked out.  Then we had mind blowing sex apparently.  I wish I were there for it.  That’s actually the first time she spoke to Dennis.  He was being a dick to me and I handed him off to her.  She sassed him right back and it confused him SO badly.  It was pretty funny, actually…  I miss Esther.  Can you tell?

Things you remember…  Or don’t remember.  It was a weird night, I think afterwards I was talking to someone who wasn’t there?  That scared Esther… but again, it was after the sex.  I really should get back into drinking again.  I miss talking to people on my days off… people with voices…

Oh, I was sick yesterday.  Not sure if I mentioned.  Sore throat, nothing drastic.  Day before too.  And today, I’ve been blowing out tons of mucus.  It’s passing, maybe, but my nose is still super clogged.  I chopped up an onion today.  I’m getting back to my original diet. I feel like I’ll have the discipline to say no to sweets and ultra fattening foods again.  I’ve been wanting to get this summer sausage SO badly but I haven’t… it’s really good.  But it’s meat, so… sad face. :c

Still, the fact that my impulsiveness HASN’T made me even heavier than I thought I’d be is surprising.  I’ve been doing more arm exercises and realized that I’ve gotten so weak, as I mentioned.  I can’t believe I thought I could outstrength Dennis… but again, that wasn’t the plan.  The plan was to not fight and just show Dennis for something that he isn’t.  He’s not confrontational, I doubt he’d ever hit me.  Mostly because he’d be afraid that I’d hit back.

I used to be super strong.  Like, so strong that it’s crazy.  Now?  I can’t lift my weights to the side.  They only get so far.  I’m so disappointed… my shoulders are going to get a work out.  I’ll just dick around and watch Archer as I play with my weights.  I NEED to get my strength back.  Not so I can fight Dennis but so I have some confidence again.

Besides, if I intend to lose weight and enlist, I’m going to need to do a minimum amount of pullups and situps and all that crap.  So, I need to be sure I can do at least some of that.  I don’t want to be in Adela’s house forever.  I don’t want to be in this country forever.

A tale for the time being by Ruth Ozeki

So what happened was that I staggered my way through Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walters (it got real….boring halfway through) and I brought the book to a bar where it got lost. So this book was next and I finished it last week. I liked it more than Beautiful Ruins, it reminded me of some nameless books I used to read in secondary school days? Mostly within the realm of coming-of-age narrative in first person peppered with surreal mini-adventures.

I probably liked the book less than I should, although it has elements that I missed/liked, including the topics of meditation, mental health, Schrodinger's cat, and reverse culture shock. And the way it is narrated too, which is mainly divided into the protagonist #1’s pov (in the form of diary) and protagonist #2’s pov (real-time, in third person). I realized that this division is at the core of the book hence is inseparable from it, but at the end I felt like it does it slightly more harm than good, the narratives turn choppy and there were parts my curiosity supposedly stimulated by the alternating povs was not substantial enough to carry on and switch to the other pov (really didn’t care about what happens to protagonist #2). Was it just due to the less-than-ideal pacing and momentums? Well for all I know this could be just my personal preference… Anyway the author Ruth Ozeki seems to be a cool lady, she’s a zen monk and all (always intrigued by monks who appear “normal” + live a city life) I was about to listen to her session with Brad Listi on Otherppl, maybe I should listen to that and give some update here after

Another interesting feature of this book is the footnote, I didn’t realize that the book was originally written in English until a few pages in, and I thought the footnote was written by a translator. When the footnote raised suspicions/questions whose answer can be found easily via modern means, it hit me that it was written by protagonist #2

I also liked the way the book starts off, seems very… self-aware in a way that moulds pretty well the thought process of a junior high school student’s. It does not omit the awkwardness (“Hi! My name is Nao, and I am a time being… Ugh. That was dumb. I’ll have to do better. I bet you’re wondering what kind of stupid girl would write words like that.”) and the lengthy explanation/justification for the existence of the record in the first place, the way you’ll probably feel when you post your thoughts publicly: You put a bit of yourself out there, and you have to, in a place where you’re not too sure whether there’s an audience in the first place (like here? should I feel awkward? lol nah). Nao’s confidence of the special audience’s existence however is uniquely strong in this case, which propels the book forward, giving her diary a conversational and eventually an “interactive” flavor as it goes

This book struck me as one that a Sophie’s World fan might enjoy? (A big ‘might’ bc I’ve never actually read the book lol). It leaves you a trail of philosophical nuggets and interesting riddles that are packaged in a lighthearted manner. Or ambiguous but plain-worded wisdom, which probably to a cynic’s eye won’t pass their bullshit litmus test, e.g.:

... there's the fact of her being a hundred and four years old. I keep saying that's her age, but actually I'm just guessing. We don't really know for sure how old she is, and she claims she doesn't remember, either. When you ask her, she says,

“Zuibun nagaku ikasarete itadaite orimasu ne.”*

* Zuibun nagaku ikasarete itadaite orimasu ne — "I have been alive for a very long time, haven't I?" Totally impossible to translate, but the nuance is something like: "I have been caused to live by the deep conditions of the universe to which I am humbly and deeply grateful. P. Arai calls it the "gratitude tense," and says the beauty of this grammatical construction is that "there is no finger pointed to a source." She also says, "It is impossible to feel angry when using this tense.”

The part where Nao starts to understand the essence of meditation intrigued me though, I liked how simple and explicit her conveyance is - in a few paragraphs she lays down the concrete steps and what might happen during the session - it was exactly the same as what I heard from headspace or Pema Chodron - and I started thinking how this now-familiar concept was pretty much unbeknownst to me when I was her age.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ZAZEN First of all, you have to sit down, which you’re probably already doing. The traditional way is to sit on a zafu cushion on the floor with your legs crossed, but you can sit on a chair if you want to. The important thing is just to have good posture and not to slouch or lean on anything. Now you can put your hands in your lap and kind of stack them up, so that the back of your left hand is on the palm of your right hand, and your thumb tips come around and meet on top, making a little round circle. The place where your thumbs touch should line up with your bellybutton. Jiko says this way of holding your hands is called hokkai jo-in, and it symbolizes the whole cosmic universe, which you are holding on your lap like a great big beautiful egg. Next you just relax and hold really still and concentrate on your breathing. You don’t have to make a big deal about it. It’s not like you’re thinking about breathing, but you’re not not thinking about it either. It’s kind of like when you’re sitting on the beach and watching the waves lapping up on the sand or some little kids you don’t know playing in the distance. You’re just noticing everything that’s going on, both inside you and outside you, including your breathing and the kids and the waves and the sand. And that’s basically it. It sounds pretty simple, but when I first tried to do it, I got totally distracted by all my crazy thoughts and obsessions, and then my body started to itch and it felt like there were millipedes crawling all over me. When I explained this to Jiko, she told me to count my breaths like this: Breathe in, breathe out . . . one. Breathe in, breathe out . . . two. She said I should count like that up to ten, and when I got to ten, I could start over again at one. I’m like, no problem, Jiko! And I’m counting away, when some crazy revenge fantasy against my classmates or a nostalgic memory of Sunnyvale pops into my mind and totally hijacks my attention. As you’ve probably figured out by now, on account of the ADD, my mind is always chattering away like a monkey, and sometimes I can’t even count to three. Can you believe it? No wonder I couldn’t get into a decent high school. But the good news is that it doesn’t matter if you screw up zazen. Jiko says don’t even think of it as screwing up. She says it’s totally natural for a person’s mind to think because that’s what minds are supposed to do, so when your mind wanders and gets tangled up in crazy thoughts, you don’t have to freak out. It’s no big deal. You just notice it’s happened and drop it, like whatever, and start again from the beginning. One, two, three, etc. That’s all you have to do. It doesn’t seem like such a great thing, but Jiko is sure that if you do it every day, your mind will wake up and you will develop your SUPAPAWA—! I’ve been pretty diligent so far, and once you get the hang of it, it’s not so hard. What I like is that when you sit on your zafu (or even if you don’t happen to have a zafu handy, for example, if you’re on the train, or on your knees in the middle of a circle of kids who are punching you or getting ready to tear off your clothes . . . in other words no matter where you are) and you return your mind to zazen, it feels like coming home. Maybe this isn’t a big deal for you, because you’ve always had a home, but for me, who never had a home except for Sunnyvale, which I lost, it’s a very big deal. Zazen is better than a home. Zazen is a home that you can’t ever lose, and I keep doing it because I like that feeling, and I trust old Jiko, and it wouldn’t hurt for me to try to see the world a little more optimistically like she does.

Jiko also says that to do zazen is to enter time completely. I really like that. Here’s what old Zen Master Dōgen has to say about it: Think not-thinking. How do you think not-thinking? Nonthinking. This is the essential art of zazen. I guess it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense unless you just sit down and do it. I’m not saying you have to. I’m just telling you what I think.

Overall I liked the book, I just thought there would be...more?

It’s been a bit of a topsy-turvy week for us here at TLC. We had the fun of Malvern Stroll and the joy of adoptions, but we also had quite a scare with our sweet & goofy Coonhound, Susie Q, who came down with a very frightening case of bloat & had to undergo surgery! We’re happy to say she has a good prognosis and hope she will be discharged to the care of her foster family soon.

Of course, it’s Sunday night which we usually reserve for all the feel-good information of letting you know which dogs were adopted & giving you updates about the TLC alumni and we, of course,want to oblige! We started the week out with an extra special story of a family who was still feeling the heartache of a much loved pup who crossed the rainbow bridge. We understood why they felt a little guilty about opening their hearts to another dog, but our boy Walter made a love connection and made sure they know that adopting & giving him a loving home was actually a great way they could honor the family member they lost.

Dizzi & Reagan (now Bella) weren’t sure which one of them would be lucky enough to be adopted by such a great family but in a surprise twist, they both went home winners – together!

Also celebrating “gotcha day” were: Andrew, Babbs (now Honey), Benjamin, Daisy, Harley, Jazel, Jazz, Juno, Leonard, Maya, Ruben (now Ruger), Wilbur and Willa (aka Winnie, mom to Wayla & Walter)!

“Our family is celebrating one year since we adopted Darby from TLC rescue. I wanted to thank you both so much for your help in making this possible.  Darby is the sweetest dog we have ever known and we can’t imagine our family without her. 

I will send some pictures of Darby in a follow up email.  I know it was a long time ago but I believe Jeanine helped us on the day of the adoption.   I was hoping you could also pass these photos along to the lady that fostered Darby before we adopted her.  She was an older woman and I think her name was Lisa?.  I don’t have her information but she was so very helpful on the day we adopted Darby.  I could tell she was worried about Darby and I wanted her to know that everything worked out wonderfully.   My son was very nervous because until Darby he was afraid of dogs due to an unfortunate incident with a neighbor’s dog when he was very young.  He has grown to love Darby so much and has pretty much conquered his fear of all dogs.  I love to watch them playing together.

My family is deeply in love with Dobby!  She’s a cuddle-bug, and loves to be outside.  She’s not so crazy about other dogs, but we plan on her being our only one.

We’ve already scheduled an appointment for the vet, and we got her dog license yesterday.  Thanks for reminding me to look at the microchip papers.

Everything is going super well with our adopted dog.  We couldn’t be happier!!!”

“Bo has been great so far!  We decided to keep his name since he was already responding to it.  He’s starting to get settled into a routine and has been learning basic obedience training and walking skills really quickly.  We’re still waiting for him and our cat to get on the same terms – there doesn’t seem to be animosity between them but our cat gets incredibly frightened when he turns to smell her (he is 6 times her size).  But she’s coming around to him more and more every day.  Everything else has gone smoothly though and we’re looking forward to the future with him.  I’ve attached a few pictures for you as well!  It’s hard to get pictures of him standing up because he’s so interested in the camera he puts his nose right into the lens.”

“Cookie Crisp (now Bella…it took her no time at all to recognize her new name!) is settling in remarkably well. My other dog Beau is also a rescue, and it took him about two weeks to finally get on a good eating and potty schedule. Bella is totally on board with the family schedule after only a few days, but I think it’s because she has Beau to show her the way. She is SUCH a love bug and I’m so happy she’s part of my family. And Beau is obviously thrilled to have a playmate. I come home and there are toys all over the floor, and they rearrange my couch pillows to create a nice cozy nest haha. She hasn’t even had any accidents after the first night, which is amazing! 

I have a vet appointment set up for her on Saturday. As we speak, both the pups are getting pampered at the groomers (oatmeal bath for her for her poor itchy skin!)

“Yes, Pita is settling in well.  She is coming out of her shell and starting to trust her new environment.  She is eating well and becoming playful (which is hysterical since I’ve always had large dogs), it’s so cute to see her want to engage.  I am fortunate to be able to bring her to the office with me every day (we have our own insurance agency) and she loves visiting with everyone.  She also loves her walks and we take a mile walk 2-3 times a day.

I may call the trainer mostly to observe her interaction with one of my daughter’s dogs who visit all the time.  Maizie is a terrier/pincher mix and has been the “Queen” so she’s not happy however, my daughter and I are working with them every day using walks to get them familiar with each other and reinforcing the good behavior with small treats and positive praise.  After 3 days, we already see a big improvement! J   We have several dogs in the family she’s been exposed to with no problems and my friends dogs have also prove to be “friends” of Pitas, she will have plenty of socialization.

I will say I’m amazed at how fast she became “my” dog, she is my shadow.  Never having a Chihuahua I’m not sure what to expect but am learning fast.  She is the sweetest little pup and I just love her.”

“I can’t  believe it’s been a year already that we’ve had our puppy….originally named Daphne, but our daughters renamed her Lily😊 

I’m not the best at remembering to take  pictures, and I only recently got an updated phone (rather than my text/slide phone LOL), so I’m trying to remember to take more pics.  In any case, I’ve attached a few of Lily so you guys can see her; some are older, and the ones on the pool (ice….she loved that LOL!) were from the big storm we had in March. She is a doll baby and such a good girl!!….we all love her so much! I’m still working on training her not to jump on everyone who comes to our house (she just gets so excited!), but she is so much better and only takes 5-10 seconds to calm down (and she’s only a puppy!). She is currently 38 lbs and the vet believes that is her full size, which is adorable!😘
