#i just said idgaf abt celebrity activism n its all egotistical n self serving#and celeb activism now isn't even pretending to be abt materially helping ppl#it's just abt 'visibility'#and i made fun of bono going to the EU bc its so fucked up like#why does a super rich pop star get to have a political voice frm that?#like isn't it nice that he wants to go to the EU and talk abt human rights or whatever but why are we like#reliant on the goodwill of a pop singer for it???#I honestly hate celeb arrogance being spokespeople or whatever its like why don't u stfu and let someone qualified talk#ur not entitled to authority and a platform bc u make bad pop music!!!#I really wanna move past the era of looking to celebrities for activism and shit#I know everyone was mad abt it but honestly Taylor swift had a point when she didn't say how she voted#bc she knew ppl would go n vote for whoever she said just bc she said it#n that's wrong.... i dont think celebrities should be leveraging their opinion like tht even if they happen to have the opinion u want#sorry.
