this is a relationship headcanon primarily about @lightnlasso​ with some more general romantic hcs mixed in ! i'm single ship w/ cassie from present day canon and onwards but discussion of past relationships and au ones are still open. this post focuses primarily on cassie and cass. i use kat’s post here as a guideline for cass’s side of things! 

to start off with exposition per usual, cass does not really know what being a girlfriend entails. she doesn't know how to be a daughter, a sister, or even a person. it's something she's only really started to learn after joining the bats. romance was never something she considered until early into her batgirl career where the late interest in it started. she explores her identity and interests in the unconventional ways a 16-21 year old human weapon turned vigilante would. dangerously and usually pretty off the mark, but... it’s a process.

her first "romance" was a short fling with kon el that did not last... at all. i imagine it was an impulsive kiss from cass's end because of her sorting out her feelings, a couple visits, and then they just lost contact. big ol comphet for her.  

her first genuine crush was on stephanie, but the problem with that is that she had no idea she was even crushing on her since she was her first friend. that's something she figures out later on when she looks back and remembers all the times she was pissy about her being with tim or more affectionate towards her than she would've otherwise been. hindsight is a bitch, but cass is under the impression that she wouldn't have been open to that anyway so it's not a loss. still got her bestie!

romance and affection comes very slowly to cass, mostly due to her upbringing and cptsd but her autism has factors in it as well. 

she's a very tactile person and enjoys touch a LOT. the problem is that she also gets overstimulated through excessive touch or sensation. hugs and little kisses are no issue for her normally, but when you get into more intimate stuff like cuddling and beyond? she's got a lot of trouble keeping still during that. 

affection in general is pretty foreign to her so shes more comfortable throwing a punch than kissing people. she CAN and does get to the point where she can more consistently handle lots of affection, but she'll always have her moments where she's like DON'T TOUCH ME. it's a slow process but patience is key to get an affectionate cass!

also pda? no. oh my god. cassie's a showoff that likes pda and doesn't care about public opinion at all. cass does not like pda and keeps her shit very private, especially when the media starts noticing that she's a billionaire's kid. she has to beat cassie off with a stick sometimes because theyre complete opposites on that front.

cassie manhandles the shit outta her and yaknow. this is a hot take but cass's canonical trend with her love interests are all people who are more powerful than her which is hard to find. she won't admit it but she’d like the manhandling. sorry.

on that same line of thought, she'll unintentionally manhandle others too by yanking them around or just like. assuming they're gonna go with what she says. she can't manhandle cassie physically but sometimes when somebody's so confident in something you just gotta go with it.

cass and cassie get married in their late 20's / early 30's. this is part is pretty verbatim what kat said on her post (linked on the top), but tl;dr they have two weddings, much to cass's dismay. she was HOPING for just signing the papers and calling it a day but unfortunately familial obligations are important for both of them. COWABUMMER. makes for a hilarious plot, though.

their gotham wedding was probably first since bruce would've arranged for it. overly fancy rich bullshit. they definitely escaped their own wedding and got ambushed by their friends shortly afterwards ghskhdg.

then they have to go to themyscira because  hippolyta would lose her shit if she didn't get to go to cassie's wedding. that's also a fucking doozy because cass is just a dude. is she even allowed here? (yeah. you are. nonbinary rights.)

she doesn't regret the weddings at all and she had fun but two massive events in a row in foreign new places and magic bullshit mixed in there? THE VOWS ARE NOT GETTING RENEWED, CASSIE.

at least they get a long honeymoon, though. also worth it.

cassie takes wayne as her last name so they BOTH get to be cassandra wayne!! if you really wanna differentiate them then cassie is cassandra elizabeth wayne. cass is just cassandra wayne. it's exactly like how recently taylor lautner got married to taylor doome and they're both named taylor lautner now? yeah. probably hit the news the same way because thats funny as shit.

when they take over for their hero counterparts as the new wonder woman and the bat, they try to keep their relationship private but. the other heroes figure that out quick. some villains probably find out. theres stir sometimes in the media with rumors. they're uh. they're not great at hiding shit. cassie's an affectionate excited bastard and cass is blunt as shit. not a good secret keeping team.
