Lolita! A Great name or a CURSE!

According to the United States Social Administration office, the name Lolita peaked in the year 1963, which was the 467 most popular female names. The SSA has ranked Lolita as the 1000 most popular female names, given since 1973 and in 1990 it was  969th most frequent female names of 4,275 most unique names. 

Lolita is a female unique name of Spanish origin. it is the diminutive form of Lola, a hypocorism of Dolores, which means suffering in Spanish. 

Since the movie, Lolita came out, the name Lolita was thought of as a cursed name, because of the way the Lolita character was portrayed in the movie. People did not want to name their babies that name. They thought of it as a sexually precocious girl’s name and didn’t want their daughters cursed with the name. These days the name is as popular in baby names as they come.
