decided to write a little reishi drabble bc my brain isn't processing a lot, so here ~

“Shut up.’’

A groan leaves his lips as he stumbles into the washroom. Brows furrowed and eyes barely open, Reishi finds his way to the bucket of water, hoisting it up to pour it into the basin before him.

Realisation slowly set in the more he eased away from his sleeping state. Who was he talking to? Was it some dream? “Must have been. . .’’ He mutters, bringing his hand to rub at his temples. He swore someone had spoken to him - he was certain something had spoken.

And yet. . . it appeared that he was alone within the room.

With a hushed sigh, Reishi parts the curtains of the small window - noticing that the sun had already risen. Shit. The others wouldn’t let him hear the end of it, especially that insufferable Arie Hon. He could already hear that stiffneck’s obnoxious lecturing - how old was that guy? 60?

‘You shouldn’t be dealing with that shit,’

Reishi looks up, brow arching. Who said that? Surely, that wasn’t just his conscious, was it?

Deducting that he was merely sleep-deprived due to their busy week, the male brushed his hair behind his shoulders and lowers his hands into the basin; collecting some water and splashing his face. ‘That should do the trick,’ he thinks to himself before allowing his eyes to flutter open.

The sight he’s met with is enough to make him curse and stumble back in a swift manner - back hitting the wall behind him. “Damnit!’’ Hands shoot to his face, covering his eyes whilst his nails dig into his skin. The magenta eyes that stared back at him when he looked into his reflection still haunting his memory.

‘Are you afraid of me now?’

Heavy intakes of air shake his form, making him quiver whilst he hunches over. “Sh-Shit. . .’’ he heaves. “Shut up. . . I didn’t agree to this.’’ He grunts, sliding down the wall.

‘This is what you signed up for when you accepted the contract.’

“I said shut up!’’

“Reishi?’’

Drawing him out of his word of thoughts, a familiar voice echoed above him. Not long after, a presence is felt before him - a hand on his shoulder and squeezing down. “Reishi? Oi, what’s going on?’’

Silence ensues for a few fleeting moments before Reishi slowly removes the hands from his face and stares up into familiar blue eyes. “What’re you doing here, Eduan?’’ With his voice shaky, he keeps his form rigid.

The male in question, Khun Eduan, allows a frown to settle over his lips. “Arlene said I should wake you, the sun’s already risen.’’ He allows his hand to slip from his shoulder to his arm. “What happened?’’ He questions. “Just a nightmare.’’

“Bullshit.’’

The spearbearer retorts, analysing the male’s facial expression. Reishi sighs, shaking his head. “It’s just a nightmare.’’ He repeats, watching as Eduan furrows his brows - but decides to not push for answers. “Fine,’’ he puffs, standing straight and bringing Reishi with him.

“Let’s go eat, you need some meat on these bones.’’ He pinches his friend’s side who immediately swats his shoulder in retort. “Shut up,’’ Reishi breathes, albeit thankful that Eduan came to get him when he did.

As he turned and walked away, the blue-haired male stayed behind - watching as he went ahead. With narrowed brows, Eduan’s vision focused on the newfound colour that zapped around his closest friend.

‘What colour is that?’ He squints at the pinkish sparks that bounce off of the other instead of the usual shade of blue.

‘The hell are you hiding now?’

"Eduan,"

He groans, head hanging back as he released an exasperated sigh. "Eduan you're freezing, get off."

All Reishi receives is a grumble in response, one which he then mimicks. He had been laying idly upon his bed after a hard day of training and sparring — just as he began to drift asleep is when this particular iceberg decided to flop onto him.

Eduan's head rested upon the male's stomach, arms lazily hooked around his waist. It wasn't uncommon for them to find themselves in these situations.

"You act like such a baby sometimes." With a click of his tongue, he rakes his hand through long blue locks — combing them out in the process. Reishi's free hand picks up his book to resume reading, all whilst his fingers run through the other's locks.

"I'm not," Eduan murmurs, the hand lulling him to a world of slumber. "Just like your warmth."
