This week felt a bit...weird. I think it's because some of these songs are just there you know? Anyways no more wasting time let's get through this.

2. "WHERE SHE GOES" by Bad Bunny

There's three big trends that has been happening over the course of the year. Regional Mexican sound going mainstream, lazy sampling, and the rise of Jersey club. Jersey club's impact so far on the global stage is basically that one Lil Uzi Vert and the remix of Players. But, now Jersey club has its biggest hit with this Bad Bunny song. I'd say that for those who wanna get into this genre, this song is a great introduction with more fuller production and the familiarity of the Bad Bunny formula with the synth and the subject matter of hostile back and forth relationship drama. Overall a great tune.

12. "Angel Pt. 1" by Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE, Jimin, & Muni Long

I'll just rank every performance here because this song is kinda boring. Muni Long = Jimin >>>> NLE Choppa >>>> Kodak Black > JVKE.

19. "Say Yes To Heaven" by Lana Del Rey

If there's one thing TikTok is good at is making deepcuts and even unreleased demo from an artist whom are still on an album cycle. It happened with The Weeknd and seems like it happened with Lana Del Rey too.

You know I would've joked about how this song correlates with TQG but this song is generic enough even by corrido standard that I just ehhhhhhhhh.

I think I might like this song more than half of Manana Sera Bonito. It all came down to the vocal melody which is very nice indeed.

You know my friend actually love this band. So this is a perfect opportunity for me to listen to their sound. I would say that they're doing the ITZY sound but doing it 80%.

It's kinda nice to hear Beyonce paying homage to early southern rap with the Kilo samples. And Kendrick Lamar always love to experiment his flow with his features and this one is no different. I wish both of them have a better chemistry tbh.

Why does this song sounds like it sampled Your Mines Still by Yung Bleu? Also I think I can say that I am sick of Feid. He's very bland and his success baffled me even more than Peso Pluma this year.

"D4DJ: First Mix” is a music focused anime using 3D models. Yes, I’m getting that out of the way because that’s an instant turn off for most people (even for me 90% of the time). 

As the title says, the anime is about DJ performances. There are 3 groups in this anime, all made of 4 girls, Peaky P-key with Techno and Eurobeat influences (which works the best with DJ remixes considering that all our party bops when we were kids were Eurobeat or Eurodance), Photon Maiden with Techno and Future House and our main characters, Happy Around! who don’t quite have a core genre but their stuff comes off more J-pop than “wub-wub”.

As for what “wub-wub” IS it’s a made up onomatopia(?) I made up with my friends for music that has strong electro sound and makes your brain feel like it’s shaking inside your head... in a good way? Anyway, remixes obviously fall into my “wub-wub” category so even though the art style was kind of a turn off, I was still curious if this anime can give me some good music... and it did!

Honestly, nothing in this anime is particularly worth of note besides the DJ performances or remixes which you can find on Youtube or Spotify so if you’re into this genre of music I’d recommend checking them out.

As for the anime... meh. It’s your generic “club formation” formula just instead of a club it’s a performance group. Maho is a kind of experienced mixer who, after some persuasion, joins up with Rinku, a newcomer who has some knack for dance and singing. They’re then joined by tsundere and VJ (DJ responsible for the visuals) Muni and shy rich girl Rei who plays the piano and makes the melody for their new songs. Rinku is also your generic ditzy, oblivious but always happy protagonist who essentially brings these girls together (cause you know, Rinku = Link. Yeah the writers weren’t subtle.)

The main problem with actually watching this anime is that the 3D models were obviously designed for performances. That’s the time the movement and the light reflection really shines and draws you in. However, outside of those, the models look INCREDIBLY uncanny valley. Especially as they act, move and do things normal anime characters would but they look... off. The models kind of jittery movement and vibrant colours make this anime a bit hard on the eyes.

Ironically, the worst thing about “D4DJ” is the sound design. The budget probably went on licensing the songs in the anime because the sound effects are SOOOOO bad. Every single thing the characters do, move their arm, blink, change position, it has some sound effect accompanying it and they all sound like they were downloaded from some free website. The OST (not including the actual remixes/DJ performances) is also quite dull and repetitive.

All in all, "D4DJ: First Mix” did introduce me to some great songs and I’ll be saving everything I like but the anime itself isn’t *quite* worth a watch just for that.

EDIT: After watching the mini anime “D4DJ Petit Mix” I’d definitely recommend watching that if you’re interested in the characters! It somehow goes more in-depth than the actual anime and all 6 groups are featured in it. And most of all, it’s cute as heck! (And all episodes are up on youtube, subbed, on the official channel!)

A Seleção Brasileira de Jiu-Jítsu vem se destacando e cumprindo muito bem sua missão numa das mais importantes competições de arte suave do mundo, o World Professional, em Abu Dhabi, nos Emirados Árabes. Até o momento, a primeira delegação canarinho da história do evento já soma 15 medalhas, sendo 12 de ouro, duas de prata e uma de bronze. Dentre os destaques, estão alguns atletas amazonenses. Para ir à disputa, o time composto por 54 atletas conta com o apoio da Secretaria de Estado de Juventude, Esporte e Lazer (Sejel) e Ministério do Esporte.

O primeiro a conquistar o lugar mais alto do pódio do World Pro e deixar sua marca no país árabe foi o atleta Luiz Medeiros, 18, da academia Alliance, de Manaus. O faixa azul faturou a categoria 69 kg após vencer seis lutas. A final foi feita com o espanhol Martin Alonso, e o mérito foi obtido após um estrangulamento feito nas costas.

“Isso aqui é um sonho e receber essa medalha é fruto de muita dedicação e esforço. Agradeço a todos que me ajudaram a chegar aqui, principalmente minha mãe Cristiana que sempre me ajudou e apoiou. Agora vou focar no Mundial da Califórnia e tentar melhorar ao máximo como atleta. Quero sempre poder também voltar aqui”, disse Luiz, fruto do projeto Social Nandinho (Cidade Nova), do mestre Melque Galvão, de Manaus. Atualmente, o atleta treina na Vila Olímpica de Manaus.

Um clássico do futebol para o tatame. Assim foi o embate entre Brasil x Argentina, protagonizado pela amazonense Brenda Larisse e a ‘hermana’ Miranda Galban, pela final da 55kg faixa azul adulto. Em uma luta bastante disputada, a brasileira levou vantagem por 2 a 0, fazendo uma linda raspagem (inversão de posição). Para a atleta, a estreia numa competição internacional não poderia ter sido mais satisfatória.

“Eu nunca tinha saído do Brasil e este evento é algo incrível, grandioso, e estou muito feliz de ter vencido. Eu estava muito ansiosa, a minha adversária era muito forte, mas eu estava confiante em fazer o meu melhor; o meu jogo. Esse título é uma motivação para mim, porque agora quero muito mais e com a premiação, de dois mil dólares, vou conseguir tirar meu visto americano e ir para competições de lá. Essa é a minha intenção agora”, destacou Brenda, que passou em cinco lutas.

Outra atleta que representou muito bem a Nação foi a amazonense Rita de Cássia. A faixa roxa fez três lutas, vencendo a primeira por finalização, a segunda ganhou por vantagem e a terceira faturou por dois pontos, vencendo a filipina Margarita Ochoa. Com o resultado, ela além de levar o ouro pela categoria 49kg, ainda embolsou a premiação de mais de seis mil reais. Abu Dhabi, inclusive, parece dar sorte à atleta. Isso porque, a primeira vez que ela esteve na Capital foi em 2015, pelo Mundial de Judô, quando conquistou bronze. Agora, em seu retorno, a lutadora conseguiu brilhar muito mais, mostrando uma técnica afiada.

 “A segunda luta para mim representou quase uma final, pois a adversária tinha um jogo muito difícil, usando muito o berimbolo, a guarda aranha, e assim é complicado para quebrar, matar. A minha estratégia foi manter a distância para ela não me raspar e fiquei um tempo segurando, pois eu estava ganhando por uma vantagem. Isso me ajudou a não desesperar e consegui reverter”, destacou Ritinha, que tem destino certo para premiação em dinheiro: ela irá realizar um sonho antigo, que é conhecer a Disney ao lado da mãe, dona Raimunda.

“Vou ainda este ano, nos próximos meses, poder realizar um sonho com essa premiação em dinheiro que ganhei aqui em Abu Dhabi. Irei conhecer a Disney com a minha mãe, e eu não poderia estar mais feliz, pois tinha o foco em vencer e fazer melhor do que fiz em 2015, no Mundial de Judô. Querer conquistar sempre mais é o que me faz me tornar uma atleta melhor e mais preparada. Eu vim com o foco de ser ouro e consegui”, contou Rita, que há seis anos não participava de campeonatos de arte suave. A retomada foi para disputar a seletiva do World Pro, o National, no início deste ano em Manaus.

Pretas

O World Pro de Jiu-Jítsu iniciou na última terça-feira, dia 11, e segue até este final de semana. Para as próximas disputas, a seleção brasileira pode brilhar ainda mais. Isso porque, na briga pelas categorias da faixa preta estão nomes como de Eduardo Inojosa, André Júlio, Huendel Osaki, entre outros.

“As classificatórias para as disputas principais foram bem complicadas, precisei ser muito forte, mas estou pronto para a guerra e vou com tudo. Fiz quatro lutas nesta quinta, a primeira ganhei de 2 a 0, a segunda por estrangulamento, a terceira por ponto  e a quarta venci o Vitor Bonfim por uma vantagem. Agora é focar nas finais e quero conquistar esta medalha nos próximos dias”, disse André Júlio, que briga pelo topo do pódio pela Master I, 85Kg.

So.... as per usual this is definitely all pretty much subtext as a huge MahoXRinku fan but I absolutely love Maho’s reaction to Rinku’s conch shell sampled song before the finale song of the last episode of D4DJ All Mix. 

She’s so proud in a “that’s my girl!” way. At least that’s how I see it. I also like how it’s pretty noticeable compared to Rei and Muni, that Maho’s blushing a lot. Again, just my dorky opinion as a dedicated MahoXRinku dork.

I watched the first episode of D4DJ All Mix today and oh my gosh! I loved it! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us and of course I made a big deal over this scene in the opening with Muni and Rei. They’re so cute.
