people seeing gifs of the 15th doctor having gay little moments and going "ohh what's this show? i gotta watch it" is literally ending me not just coz of the concept that anyone can be unaware of doctor who but also bc like. while i do think it's a show ppl should watch in its entirety. DON'T DO IT FOR GAY REP LMAO. like it literally does have a lot of lgbt rep even all the way back in season 1 of 2005 fame but watching 13 seasons of doctor who coz something gay happens in the new eps is like. idk finding out there's a new pride and prejudice adaptation with a gay character in it and going ohhhh that sounds fun:) guess i'll go watch every adaptation ever made

yellowjackets still making casting announcements for season 3 is just crazy. season 2's finale aired in may 2023. each season is only 9 or 10 episodes. but yeah, totally. it's totally normal to take this long of a break to make 9 episodes.

#honestly so sick of it #the bear and only murders in the building are the only 2 shows that consistently drop new episodes #yes neither of those are fantasy/supernatural shows #but like.. so many regular shows with no fantasy elements take so fucking long too #there is just no reason #tv is dead #yellowjackets #I lowkey blame stranger things and the last 2 seasons of game of thrones #they kinda started this trend I fear #rambles

#when i was first coloring him in he was gonna be golden chinchilla colored but then i was like ehhh jonah magnus should be red/orange but #elias should be gray ...so i just desaturated what i already did instead of recoloring lol but #he is now supposed to be shaded silver lol #but thats why his coat pattern is on the darker side compared to what it *should* be #og elias bouchard coming from an important/roch family and while whole thing with thinking he just *deserves* stuff bc of his upbringing.#etc. -> he is purebred and matches the breed standards etc for a scottish fold of his color #obviously the eye color doesn't matter because. ahaha #i thought elias fit the Scottish fold vibes because: Scottish folds are known for looking sort of like owls and having intense eyes #and the cat body/face type (also present in british shorthairs) to me gives off sort of... unnasumming vibes?#like ahaha yes i am a boring boss who loves paperwork look at how unnasumming i am season 1-2 elias y'know #trying to think of what cat breed jonah would be. and also jon gerry etc you know all the other characters i like #would it be boring to have multiple british shorthairs #i mean..#Michael shelley/distortion is a laperm that's all I know #i didn't particularly care with the personality attributes associated with eliascat because it didn't need to fit his personality on account #of not being his original body. but i do try to keep in mind the best personality/look/etc. cat attributes as a whole for a character #also sometimes get obsessed with jt making historical and geographical sense but then it just limits me greatly to a point im not into it #so i don't care about specific breeds in that respect lol #tma #my art #elias bouchard #the magnus archives #some notes looking back(made it 2 hours ago but still looking back ok..) on it now are that i feel like elias would never choose this breed #for his next bodyhop because of the inherent health issues in scottish folds. correct me if I'm wrong but I was just thinking about the roykeeley in season two of it all, and that fight where Keeley loses it at Roy for being clingy because she can't handle how close they are now that they work in the same building but like,,, Keeley and Roy would have been working in the same building while dating for a good chunk of season one as well.

She started working at Nelson Road before Jamie was even sent back to Manchester. They would of had months working in the same building, so either Roy has always been that clingy and Keeley just didn't mind at first, which I found doubtful given that it only takes her like a week to blow up at him for it in season two, or Roy being clingy is an out of character thing for him to be doing that should've raised some kind of red flag to friends and loved ones that I feel like from what we know about Keeley as a character would've been treated with more empathy than she actually had in the show.

#i'm going off of memory so this might not be anything #but wasn't one of her complaints that he sat quietly in her office reading when they were on break?#girl how is that being clingy and not just regular levels of wanting to spend time with your partner?#I stand by that Roy wasn't in the wrong for that #I actually stand by Roy not being in the wrong for MOST of his relationship with Keeley #I don't even think he was wrong for breaking up with her #I will not ever view breaking off a relationship you aren't happy in as selfish #and I don't care how much the show tries to make me view him as selfish for it or like he threw something good away #no he didn't #just because Keeley was hurt by being broken up with (understandable reaction) does not mean Roy did the wrong thing by breaking up with he #he looked at the way their relationship was going and saw that he wouldn't be happy if he stayed so he left #and the show tried to frame that as a bad thing #“maybe i should've just stuck around and enjoyed it”#no sir that's not how these things work #staying in a failing relationship just because you don't want to be alone isn't healthy you did the right thing #your career and your love life aren't metaphors for each other #and let me be clear Roy and Keeley were 100% a failing relationship right from the start of season 2 with the fight that inspired this post #keeley's feelings about the breakup aren't more valid then Roy's just because she's the hurt party #and they clearly broke up amicably if Keeley is willing to sit down and tell Phoebe about it with him #she wasn't jilted or wronged in any way and the show framing it like that grinds my fucking gears

Jason's villain arc is even sillier on the rewatch.

#smallville rewatch #smallville season 4 #I know why it's such a mess from a meta perspective & I understand sometimes your villain quits and one of your regulars books another show #but in narrative it's all very what on earth was the point of this #but also they do this so often at least some of it has to be a lack of care toward characterization #Helen from season 2 & 3 comes to mind. If he goal was always financial most of her actions are not in line with that goal #Or Adam from season 3 who was just kind of a dick & desperate to survive even if it meant killing? what was that for?#people don't always act rationally or in their own interest of course and it can be really interesting when circumstances force a character #to act unlike what we think of as themselves but I think it's also pretty obvious when a character arc is just a left turn or a narrative #convenience

just rewatched s1 (and 2) of hsmtmts to get s4 out of my system and damn the quality difference between 1 and 4,,,, s1 rly was so fucking good. and no matter how anyone feels abt any ships u literally cant deny that s4 was objectively not great not only as a season of the show but honestly as a season of tv in general

#from storylines to dialogue to character exploration s1 was so!! good!!! even with regular corny teen show stuff #like ricky used to be one of my favorite characters and then i spent all of s4 making fun of him (partly bc im mad abt rina but whatever)#ppl get so mad when u say that the show was better w olivia in it but its true !!#like s1 felt a lot more rooted in realism #and the school musical was still the main focal point which i like #s4 also wasted a whole episode on flashbacks which is not smth u do on an 8 episode season of a streaming service show #i also hated the flashbacks bc they used them to try and make it seem liked rina was always the plan #i mean even the original songs from s1 and 2 were so much better #whatever im talking too much point is s1 good s4 bad #hsmtmts #hsmtmts s4

Yes Ed and Steve are cute but fuck it the whole season you were building up the family aspect of the crew and their importance ESPECIALLY through Izzy and their acceptance of him in spite of what he put them through and his cracks in the armour AND YOU GIVE THAT AS THE LAST 4 MINUTES OF THE SEASON??

Who the fuck okayed that, why was all this character development over the whole season thrown out for a cheap drama and why ED was the only one who was allowed to care and grieve when it was only him completely avoiding any consequences of his actions. Ed is the only one who benefits from Izzy being gone and who the fuck cares, I’m not saying hurt him like he hurt everybody but for fuck’s sake why does Ed get to keep the family that Izzy built and protected and fought for root and nail.

Shout out to my family for tolerating me even though I cannot watch anything with Peter Krause without saying "Did you realize he has been the lead on a TV show basically continuously since 1998? Three of them long-lasting and very popular or critically acclaimed? Come look at his Wikipedia with me!"

#he was a regular on cybill before then too!#i just think he's had a really surprisingly consistent career and that most people don't think of him much #obviously there are your svus and your supernaturals and your shows that just run forever #but you must be so tolerant of the tv filming schedule to be first on the call sheet for like 6 shows in a row #i know nothing about him other than that he was married to lauren graham but this always fascinates me for some reason #i think it's the density of roles #there are lots of actors with multiple successful shows but it's usually 2-3 and spaced out by years #and also they tend to be way more famous #your ted dansons and michael j foxes and julia louis dreyfuses etc etc #anyway thanks again to my family for hearing about this like 23 times #i have watched sports night on repeat #and 1.5 seasons of six feet under #and like 3 episodes of dirty sexy money #largely because of candis cayne #and nothing after that #so i'm not actually following his career by watching his shows lol
