omg THANK YOU!!! generally they were all in the same class since kindergarten so he knew all of them pretty intimately at that age

- little fred and hal met because their older siblings were friends and they were also in the same boy scout troop as well as school and they were “best friends” in kindergarten and grew apart as their interests changed and matured 

- fred and alice were also best friends even though she was scruffy and came from the wrong side of the tracks they played sandlot baseball together and hung around the neighbourhood 🥰they were fiercely protective of each other all their lives

- mary and fred were rivals from a young age they were the classic “boy and girl are always bickering bc they have a crush on each other” trope but fred used to drive mary up the wall especially in middle school she resented him so much

- my hc is that hiram didn’t join the picture until later but whoooooo middle school hiram and fred woulda been a sight to see. 

- fred had a crush on tom i think starting in middle school.... 

- I used to work from a timeline where he and fp didn't start going to the same school until high school but now I guess they were friends forever so basically little fred came up to little fp one day in pre k and gave him half a sandwich and they fell in love that moment no joke 🥰or maybe alice and fred were friends first and they met that way

- Penelope and sierra were also freds classmates since he was 4 yrs old so he considered them his friends even though they didn't hang out or do friend things outside of school 🙂it always seemed like they were doing fine (sierra usually was... penelope not so much)

- maybe gladys and fred got closer in middle school?????? they were besties though, one of those people you might not hang out with all the time but its never weird when you’re alone together you just pick up where you left off. they were best buds. 

- oooooooh Hermione and fred were friends as kids but once they hit middle school they started crushing on each other and fred was her ~almost boyfriend~ before you had boyfriends and all that good stuff... 🥰

what typically is your routine when coming up with a concept for a fic and then actually getting it written? does this vary btwn one shots or multichapters?

Because I spend so much time just sitting with these characters (Betty and Jughead in particular for me), concepts themselves tend to just kind of happen all the time. It’s usually prompted by something, either I end up thinking about a certain genre, or I’m reading/watching/playing something that sparks an idea, or I just start riffing on something that someone said.

Most of these are little more than thought experiments, “what would a such-and-such fic be like?” and more often then not, I play it out in my head, but it doesn’t quite all fit together, or I know it’s something that I won’t really enjoy writing, so eventually I’ll let it drop.

Then there’s the ones that catch. These are the ideas that snap into place right out the gate, or just stick with me, so I keep coming back to them and thinking about them. Once I get to the point where I am actively writing out scenes in my head, that’s when they tend to officially become fic projects.

Overall, the process between one-shots and multichapters isn’t different, because the length is mostly determined by what I think best serves the idea. I tend to avoid multi-chapters and long fics in general, because that’s something I’m only willing to sign up for if I am really invested.

The actual writing process itself is that I’m always kind of half between writing prose and writing an outline lol. They aren’t typically in separate files either, I just make quick notes about scenes I know I want to happen for the outline, and then go in and start filling in writing when a section starts to click with me. (It’s really all over the place lol)

Oh Gabbie, there’s so much history I could talk about with you!  You’re such a delight and a great person to be around, and I really miss hanging around with you, and can’t wait to do so again! (but, like you said, not that we can right now weh!) But beyond that, you’re just a really rad person.  I’ve always loved your sense of humor, your perspective and the way you analyze things, your ART, writing with you and being your friend has been such a rewarding experience!  We’ve known each other for what feels like FOREVER at this point, and I’m so glad, because you’re just such a wonderful, rad person. I really love that we’ve had such a long and rewarding friendship. i have a few songs of hers and they are certified bops! she’s very talented vocally, but everything about her branding is stolen from black and latina women and she seems to resort to “but female empowerment... and i’m also ~ITALIAN~ so” when critiqued on these choices. like fine, she doesn’t want to be associated with being a nick star anymore and as a sexy, young pop diva. that’s fair! but it’s always going to make me mad that she’s granted the privilege of doing these things and seen as fresh and empowering when black/latina women will do the same and will be seen as “ratchet”.

🔥 shipping: koose is shit, and i never liked kangs. i think moose is a cheater who took kevin for granted and i think kangs begun under horrible circumstances and a relationship born out of shared trauma is not good. 

🔥 fanfiction: people write kevin as a slutty effeminate tool for “real” (read: straighter) men to use for sexual exploration and gratification. i think people write joaquin either as white (hyperemphasis on his light eyes/just never addressing how he’s latino) or as a shitty bad boy. i think people in this fandom genuinely don’t like gay men, just m/m relationships, and that’s why no one likes kevin!

🔥 comics: jughead is not asexual and never has been. he was created as a homophobic joke (they used “woman hater” and not “chauvanist pig” for a reason. he wasn’t misogynist, he was not attracted to women, that was the whole joke) and they have to lie in the bigoted bed they made! calling him asexual is homophobic, period. you know who IS an aroace icon? trula twyst. she studies romantic interaction because she doesn’t understand it! also the art style has been deteriorating for a while, since roughly the 90s, and instead of redesigning the whole thing and leaving the slice-of-life stuff to the side, they shouldve put more energy into quality on the digests. but i love the supernatural series!
