As Pride Month winds down and all of the corporate rainbow “support” goes into hibernation, here are 9 songs by LGBTQ+ artists to add to your playlists to jam to for the rest of the year.
This multi-genre list a celebration of the growing visibility and reach of LGBTQ+ artists. Something that only 10 years ago seemed unimaginable. But look at us now!
Shae Couleé “Divine” (Initial Talk Remix)
youtube
Season 5 champion of Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars continues their bop streak with the jubilant and 80’s feeling “Divine,” remixed by the brilliant Initial Talk.
Pet Shop Boys “Dancing Star”
youtube
Pioneering synth-pop dup, Pet Shop Boys re-enter the Latin Freestyle genre with “Dancing Star.” The song is inspired by the life of ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who defected from the Soviet Union and became a global star.
Thiago Pantaleão “O Que Eu Ganho”
youtube
Up-and-coming LGBTQ+ Brazilian musician Thiago Pantaleaõ has been making waves internationally and proves the hype is well deserved with this gem.

Tokischa + Sexyy Red “Daddy”

Kevin Abstract + Lil Nas X
youtube
The lyrics and accompanying music video for Kevin Abtract’s “Tennessee” is a sentimental nod to gay love. Featuring fellow out rapper Lil Nas X, “Tennessee” follows Abstract’s critically acclaimed 2023 album “Blanket.”
Monifah “Testify”
youtube
Monifah emerged in the mid-1990s with a string of R&B hits including “I Miss You (Come Back Home)” and the monstrous pop hit “Touch It.” Monifah returns with the rousing House/Gospel anthem, “Testify.”
Jamie XX + Honey Dijon “Baddy On The Floor”
youtube
After teasing “Baddy On The Floor” in 2001, and playing it as part of his DJ set at this year’s Coachella, the Jamie XX track featuring Honey Dijon was finally released in April and has been setting dance floors on fire ever since.
Kehlani “8”
youtube
Kehlani is on a roll with the just released album “Crash” which features song-of-the-summer contender “After Hours.” She ups the ante with the Kwame & The New Beginning’s 1990 hit “Ownlee Eue” sampled clever ode to fellatio.
jeremy o’brian + Sideeq “deviant”

While Vaggie loves punk, 80s music, rock and Latin music (as well as reggaeton), she also loves a wide variety of other music, even delving into certain genres of rap on occasion. However, she also enjoys classical and does know a decent amount of gospel music (for obvious reasons, even if she doesn't particularly enjoy it).

Conclusion : Rejoignez-nous pour Explorer la MCC

What annoys you the most about kpop? -- Toxic fans -_- I haven't experienced it myself - THANK GAWD! - but I have read and heard too many fan accounts about how "fans" felt entitled to the idol group and they start getting physical or talking shit. One account I remember reading where a plus size fan was shamed for stanning a group and the "fans" told her she was unfit to represent the group like breh -_-
What do you love the most about kpop? -- The sense of community/bonding you get. It's times like these where you realize music, regardless of language, really does break barries ^.^
Do you only listen to kpop? -- Noooooo 😝 I listen to hip-hop, r&b, rap, gospel, Island reggae, reggae, cumbia, reggaeton, corridos, old school Samoan songs, "oldies, soft rock, rock, edm, pop, etc 😝

Which concepts do you hate? -- The "cute" concept for the girls
If you could trade places with an idol, who would it be? -- Yonghwa of CNBLUE. Just once I would love to see what goes on through his head when he writes the lyrics for the songs and produces it. I want to be in the studio when all that shit goes down: the recording process, him correcting the the members, everything.
What do you look for in a bias? -- I tend to look at the visuals but I end up falling hard for the leaders 🤣
Which kpop company do you hate the most? -- Cube, they always have an amazing roster but never promote them properly

Who is the bias to your third favorite group? -- Kim Jonghyun of SS501
What name from your native language would you give your ult bias? -- For CL probably Afimailelagi (Fire coming from Heaven for her charisma); Namjoon would be Enele (wisdom) 😍

Nothing But Love radio edit - James Dean Baker ft Travelle Moore
Tumblr media
¡Y me encanta! JAMES DEAN BAKER. Gracias a todos por recibirnos. Read the full article

Puerto Rican reggaeton sensation Farruko, born Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, has embarked on a dynamic spiritual journey, raising questions among fans about a potential transformation into Christianity. Raised in a devout Pentecostal household in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, with his mother serving as a pastor, Farruko's early exposure to Christianity significantly influenced his artistry.
His debut album in 2010, "El Talento Del Bloque," featured songs reflecting his deep connection with God. Collaborations with fellow Christian artists reinforced his roots, despite later transitions into more secular themes within reggaeton and Latin trap.
Despite the shift, Farruko insisted in a 2017 interview with Billboard that his core values remained anchored in his Christian upbringing. His humility and gratitude were evident, asserting that success hadn't altered his commitment to faith.
Recent signs suggest a potential return to his Christian roots. In a Telemundo interview in March 2021, Farruko expressed a desire to eliminate explicit content from his music, emphasizing a shift towards messages of hope and love. A subsequent Instagram post featuring a Bible verse stirred speculation among fans regarding a spiritual awakening.
Public expressions of faith have become more prominent, with Farruko attending church services and discussing the importance of trust in interviews. His surprise release in August 2021, "Trapstorno Vol. 3," marked a notable departure from his typical style, featuring gospel-inspired tracks with Christian themes.
The complexities of reconciling faith with the often explicit themes of reggaeton and Latin trap have been a challenge for Farruko, echoing the struggles faced by other artists with a Christian background. The release of his gospel-inspired album and public declarations of faith demonstrate a willingness to navigate this delicate balance.
As Farruko's spiritual journey unfolds, fans and observers should approach it with respect and an understanding of the complexities artists face when integrating faith and artistic expression. Farruko's case serves as a reminder of the personal nature of faith and the ongoing evolution artists experience in the public eye.

Christian music
Psalm 150.5
“Praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.”
I think I need to make it clear that everything I post is my point of view. I’m no pastor or Bible scholar. I’m simply a man, a sinner, that loves God and the word of God.
How should we sing and make music towards Jesus. Should it only be slow singing.
When you think of Christian gospel music do you imagine the sound of Slipknot with the words of Christ? Could you imagine a rap beat like Lil Wayne with words of Christ?
What would that sound like?
Let’s break that down in my own interpretation and hopefully some of you may agree.
First, let’s think about heavy metal. Lots of anti Christian symbolism, lots of satanism, and lots of screaming, but what or who created this?
I would like to refer to Isiah 45:7 for this topic.
7 “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.”
This verse tells me 2 things God created EVERYTHING, Satan created NOTHING.
Satan perverts what God has created.
So although God created not just rock music but all music Satan has taken it and perverted it.
That’s why we are so much satanic symbolism in the music industry.
A band really inspired this blog, their name is Holyname. Their style is very heavy but their lyrics are the gospel and pleasing to God to be with them to guide them. I think to myself how can this be and the Holy Spirit gave me knowledge I couldn’t comprehend at first. How can something so heavy be for God? Because they took it back from Satan, made it holy and gave it back to God.
Imagine this, there’s a kid who’s never been exposed to Jesus, listens to only rock music. Believes he is depressed and has anxiety, would never listen to “real” Christian music, and definitely wouldn’t let a Christian near him to speak the gospel.
Now how is God going to make his word know to this kid? Who is on the verge of suicide, who doesn’t want to live anymore. Who doesn’t know the word and love God provides. How could he ever be saved?
Well if you ask me he’s gonna be saved by this song randomly ending up in his shuffle of music by the glory of God.
He won’t realize it at first but once he decides to listen to those lyrics he’ll realize there’s a God and he landed in the place he never expected, in his music.
This music can travel to places a regular uptight Christian could never reach.
This kids life can be saved for all eternity if we stop thinking Christian’s can’t make anytype of music.
You can take out the word rock from this blog and replace it with any other music genre and the message is the same. Rap, reggaeton, country, salsa, pop, funk, etc
God can work through anything and everything and he promises to never leave us alone. That’s why there’s so many ways to send Gods message to those who need to hear it most.
In understanding this I think it’s extremely important us Christian’s have more of an open mind to how God is working and not judge what we do agree with.
Just because you don’t agree with it doesn’t make it wrong. Let God work and let’s focus on ourselves and our discipleship to him.
God doesn’t belong in a box of limitations, so instead of judging let’s let his work prosper.
Just like before I like to end these blogs with a prayer.
Let’s pray for understanding.
Lord, we thank you for this day. For this time you’ve given us. The life you’ve given us no matter how much or little we feel you’ve given we are thankful lord. I pray lord you give us understand and give us the understanding to let your will be done without us asking and judging on so many levels. Give us focus so we can see what we need to change in our own lives to be more like you, to follow you lord in a righteous path to heaven. I pray lord that you heal us who are broken, strengthen us and give us anew vision into a new life following you lord. We are born again through you.
In Jesus almighty name, Amen.
Thank you for reading
I love you guys stay safe.
