Oh, a great comp to Thralls of Power in regards to themes and relationship to canon would be Black Sails. It's wild I didn't think of it before actually.
#thoughts#thralls of power#animatic project#black sails#thralls is not at all as grimdark as black sails can get.#it's less grimdark and more whimsical than my stories about the adult timeline for comparaison#feels far more zelda-esque I think --at least I try to capture that early 3D zelda vibe as best I can#I try to take its more first degree childish wonder elements seriously. at least I try. (and there will be Some goofiness)#thralls is also less gay#:(#which is my bad#it just has faaar less romance overall for my defense#(though it does have at least one lesbian relationship. it's minor but it's there.)#but flint and the way I plan to tackle ganondorf have *a lot* in common#aka “man so angry at an empire he would rather eat a mountain rock by rock than concede literally anything to anyone.”#and thematically it's definitively hanging in the same ballpark#regarding stories and legacy and what constructs and maintains power and individual VS who they become as legends
