well i finally dug out my india stone to do the unthinkable (regrind my knives) but i don’t have any oil to go with it so. i guess i’m heading to the hardware store tomorrow
#sasha speaks#to be clear regrinding my knives itself is not unthinkable i should just have it done way more often#cause i barely know what i'm doing...my old teacher used to help me with that but now i have a new one#i'm not really worried about hurting myself so much as i'm worried about irreparably fucking up my knives#but anyway there's no way i'm touching a blade to this stone without some oil so it's a moot point until i get some#so no grinding today. i think i'll try to scrape a bit though anyway i have a reed i've been working on this week that might be promising#oboeposting#really i just need to get some new knives cause the ones i have are at this point old and a little sad but#reed knives are expensive i gotta make them last...#someone hire me for a gig already so i can buy new supplies pls#i refuse to be one of those guys who sharpends 100% on stones. freaky.#i'll use my ceramic sticks and honing steel for most everyday touch ups thanks
