Rewatched/listened to Hadestown last night, I had forgotten how hard some of the Hades verses really hit for Doom:

King of mortar, king of bricks

The river Styx was a river of stones

And Hades laid them high & thick

With a million hands that were not his own

And a million feet that fell in line

And stepped in time with Hades' step

And a million minds that were just one mind

Like stones in a row, stone by stone,

Row by row, the river rose up

Like. Victor and his Doombots. Or hell, at this point, the grip he has on his people--Latveria as the Underworld and Victor as Hades would fit well too, except that Victor has always been obsessive about ecology and keeping his land clear of pollution. And his people love him more than fear him (they acknowledge he's a monster, but he's *their* monster; the Doom mask represents hope to Latverians--otoh, they'd do whatever he asked without much question. Wall? Pfft. They'd rebuild his castle with their bare hands, they've literally done it before)

Heavy and hard is the heart of a king

King of iron, king of steel

The heart of a king loves everything

Like the hammer loves the nail

Idk, definitely some parallels, I'd say.
