I know posts aren’t written with a universal audience in mind and that when people make posts like this they are probably not talking to me but
I HATE posts that are phrased to talk to everyone and say shit like “you NEED to be eating X”
shut up! you do not know a persons needs. just saw one that even went so far as to say they didn’t care if a person has a condition that makes it hard. shut up shut up! things that are healthy for most people are not necessarily good for everyone! like. my body does not tolerate cellulose. it makes me throw up. I can only tolerate vegetables in very specific circumstances, and I’m even then I will, not might, WILL, throw up part of the meal. I also receive premade meals in the mail as a disability accommodation. These meals are inevitably designed to cater to the Healthy Diet For Everyone. and as a result, I can’t eat like half of every single one because it’s steamed vegetables that will make me sick. nothing I can even do about it. it’s not possible to receive medical meals for MY medical needs. not to mention all the other stuff they send me that is prohibited for me (whole grain bread —I’m on a low fiber diet. milk —lactose intolerant. pineapple fruit/juice —allergic. tomatoes…allergic again.)
idk man it is an active problem in my life that everything presumes there is only one way to be healthy. I’m so sick of dealing with it. I DONT want to see it on tumblr too! leave nutrition advice to people’s doctors!!!

Nikken blogged about upcoming health trends for 2018 and we couldn’t have said it better ourselves but we have included tips for adopting these trends into your self care routine.
As we approach the end of 2017, it’s the perfect time to assess some of the health trends for 2018. Here are 10 that dovetail with the Nikken focus on Active Wellness.
1          Less sugar consumption. A recent survey found that 12% fewer adults and 19% fewer children have a sugary beverage like soda or juice on any given day compared to data from 2003.1 This is amazing news! This is also the first year that bottled water sales have topped soda sells. The American Heart Association recommends 6 tsp of sugar for women daily and 9 for men. Instead, choose a vinaigrette dressing or make your own with vinegar and olive oil. To add texture and interesting flavors, top the salad with dried cranberries or a few pieces of walnuts.
TIP! Take a multi-vitamin each day to ensure that you are getting all the nutrients that your body requires. Although you should try to get as many vitamins from your food as possible, a multi-vitamin gives you the insurance that you need if you slip a little.
When working to select the most nutritious foods, choose those nearest their natural form. Unprocessed, fresh foods are the greatest way to make sure that you get the most nutrients possible.
Salt Intake
TIP! To feel better during your day, try moderating your meal plan. Overeating causes an influx of nutrients, creating a situation where you gain fat.
Reduce your salt intake. Similar to other junk food, fast food tends to have a high salt content. If you can decrease your salt intake in your daily diet, you may discover that you more easily notice its flavor occurring. Foods which are not healthy choices may suddenly seem too salty. Baked Foods
TIP! Want a healthy meal idea for the whole family. Try making kabobs, either by grilling them or broiling them.
Avoid fried foods as much as possible. Baked foods are generally better for your body and come with a much lower count of calories, oils and carbohydrates. You will find that you are far more energetic when you eat only healthily baked foods.
TIP! Iron is an important nutrient for pregnant women. Up your daily iron intake from 18mg to 27mg to ensure you stay healthy during pregnancy.
To maintain good nutrition, you must eat in a balanced way. Your body requires vitamins, miners, essential amino acids, and essential fatty acids to function at its optimal level. While you can find the nutrients in certain supplements, it’s better to get them from food.
