2018 Roar 11pt Stag. (Sorry, gonna be a long one) Although only a week old, since i dropped this guy (my first ever Red Deer stag) off to the taxidermist @animalarttaxidermyau I have been trying to decide on how to position him and where. Having the time to think about this its like standing at the bottle shop, or trying to pick a movie. So many options but site and setting will ultimately sway the decision. Having 2 young children (4&2yr old boys) i personally don't think it will affect them in any negative way, my wife does. I was about the same age when visiting my fathers friends house where he had countless heads mounted around his home. If anything, it made a lasting impression and, although slow to grow, probably helped me in my passion for hunting deer more than any other input. Its been 10 years since i first got my firearms license and since then i have passed oy hunting anything with a decent rack. Opting for cull stags and does for meat. I always said that when the time comes and i can afford the investment, i want to show the respect to my first trophy worthy stag/buck by getting it mounted. As i did with my first ever deer, its rug now lies in my study.
