(ignore the fact that I haven’t even started the book cover fanart for Chapter 2, I had a significantly clearer idea of one for chapter 3)

I very quickly realized that drawing a weird checkboard in a weird perspective is very tricky and I literally had to draw myself a birds-eye diagram of the board, girl help

helped a bit when I realized the middle of the board where the two patterns meets makes a 6-pointed star. It’ll look better once i start filling it in because it’ll be easier to see where the shapes aren’t even and need fixed. I got this! (eventually)

The secret bonus to being a hobbyist photography for like 10 years is that since a LOT of my photography is really low to the ground or close up shots, pretty similar to this, it unintentionally built me a pretty good idea how POVs like this are suppose to look off the top of my head lol
