Up the Airy Mountain
@reddiadem connected to Tensions in the Courts
The air held the faint smell of moisture in in it. Telling of a fog that might be rolling in. Summer had ended and the first days of autumn saw the liquid amber trees to the west of their home already hurriedly changing to the bright yellows, oranges, and reds of Fall. The apple harvest was good and the pumpkins were ripening well.
Keeva slumbered away in their bed. The windows were wide open to let in the warm air, and she slept under only a thin sheet. Her changes for her fall season had fully settled on her shoulders and now they were just waiting for the day it would start.
As the sun was setting a faint feeling was starting to disturb the Owl Goddess’s slumber. And it was not the welcome feel of her beloved Infernum returning to the house with the dogs. In her sleep the hair at the nape of her neck raised a little. Almost like a dogs hackles bristling.

A Frightful Forest
@reddiadem
JJ had come to hear of the rumours that surrounded the sprawling forest of the area he was transversing through. The legends of beings of unimaginable splendour and fear that populated the deepest recesses, only to be guarded by monsters and creatures of fearsome intent, larger and more deadlier than your standard forest dweller. A certain death sentence to some, and the scene for a horror movie for most...
But to JJ? It was a challenge.
A chance to improve himself, to better himself in ways that petty thugs and purse thieves couldn’t provide - A sense of risk, that primal danger that the streets just didn’t possess. Thus, he thrust himself with naive eagerness into the endless woods with his van, eventually coming to a halt once the brush became too dense.
For some time, there was nothing, and JJ found only boredom from the comfort of his van, but after just a few hours...He wasn’t alone. A shadow in the corner of his eye, or a glint of eyes in the darkness, a moment of silence until...Crunch.
A twig snapped. The figure leapt from the shadows, teeth gleaming through the murky light, and even with JJ’s augments, he was too slow and too human to handle the ferocious tenacity of the beast. Claws struck flesh, fur struck flesh and teeth gnawed...Metal?
A brief advantage, a surprise to the shadowy fiend, who was promptly surprised by the addition of a shocking development...A taser. A startled yelp echoed through the woods, and in its spasm of panic and pain, the beast let go, releasing JJ, and took flight through the woods. A small victory, however, the damage had been done...
...Blood seeped from the cuts across his chest, three defined claw marks having shredded through the padded vest. Teeth marks dented the metallic limbs, and a startling crack followed up the right side of his mask. His breathing staggered, filtered through the mask, and he rested his head against the trunk of a fallen tree, his left hand over the bloodied wounds. Nothing too deep but he needed just a little rest. Just a little close of his eyes.
This might have been slightly....Out of his depth.

Two futures were swirling in front of his eyes right now and it was starting to give him a pounding headache. Either go straight home or find that lost freak wandering somewhere in this city’s version of Skid Row. Hard to miss, that kind of guy. Looked like a real monster. Probably was gonna attract trouble. And if Three Eye heard there was trouble in the area Prophet prowled for a fix, he’d be a cranky ass.
Figuring he’d get to his dealer later, Prophet found himself walking down the streets where he knew that other guy was... or would be soon.
Cold as dicks and with an icy sprinkle of rain spattering against the top of his head, Prophet’s teeth chattered as he turned the corner and saw the back end of the freak. Man, and he thought some of the other Creations were creepy. The seer made sure to yank up his hoodie hood before he called up ahead.
“Hey, dumbass, you’re lost. You were supposed to take a right back there.”
Why was he even bothering?

Bruise (reddiadem, maybe for Block if that’d work? If not then for island Dakota!)
Bruise - Find my muse badly beaten up.
Things had not gone well. There was a reason only high-ranking agents like Block took on S-ranked time villains– even the best first-class agents would easily fall to them. As it was, Block barely got away with his life. It was clear to him now, that this new villain, Stolich… He meant business.
Block didn’t know where or when he was, he’d just needed to escape. He’d hit the temporal warp button in a panic– it was do or die, and the adrenaline left him still shaking.
Hands slick with blood, he let the quantum localizer slip from his grip and struggled to at least sit up. He had to keep moving. He couldn’t stay here. However, his body had other plans. Block cried out as his arms gave out, and he collapsed against the ground. He lay there for several long moments, breathing shakily and shuddering with pain. That’s when he heard them.
The footsteps.
Icy blue eyes snapped open and he whipped his head towards the sound. Vision blurring, he could barely make out the other’s figure– tall, horned, almost monstrous. He swore under his breath and renewed his struggle to get up– either he was already dead, and the devil was coming for him, or he had jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. Either way, it didn’t look good for the head of the Bureau.
“St-stay back! I’m armed!” Block cried out, scrambling to grab his gun. He was out of bullets, but the other didn’t need to know that.

Eddie Dean isn’t a guy who does well in nature. He’s a city guy. He’s street smart. Not... Dirt. Smart. Dirt poor, maybe, but not dirt smart.
The place he had wound up seemed like a hiking trail. There was a row of gravel to mark off where the main trail was that sometimes broke off into different paths through the trees. Speaking of trees, those were arched over the path itself and it being late in the day and all, there wasn’t a lot of light. So it was fairly dark, there were very few people, and there was just a gaunt man looking vaguely like death and wondering when he was going to be able to get out of here. Oh, it’s cold too. Not super fucking freeze your balls off cold but cold enough that he’s obviously not prepared for this shit.
Anyways, a universal constant that he’s slowly becoming aware of is that Destiny or Fate or Ka or whatever the fuck it was really didn’t like him. Because he was in the middle of the woods and then he wasn’t! Then he was in the middle of a hiking trail in the middle of the woods in a place he didn’t recognize. Which, you know, it wasn’t like he had recognized the first place he had been in either but, at least he hadn’t been alone.
“You know what,” starts the man who cannot, for the life of him, shut up. “This is bullshit. I fuckin’ turn my back for two goddamn seconds and I’m a universe over or some crazy shit like that.” He sits his skinny ass down on the gravel and sighs, running a hand through his frankly nasty, greasy hair. “My fuckin’ luck to wind up in the middle of goddamn nowhere again. Goddammit. Alright, fuck. Get it together Eddie. Don’t freak out. If you freak out you’re gonna die.”
Which is totally a thing someone says when they’re not freaking out.

@reddiadem liked the shadow au starter call
Peter’s gaze looked upon the other--taller than he was. That was no simple feat. Plenty of emotions crossed his face--confusion, irritation; perhaps a bit of disgust--but fear was not one of them.
“And what, pray tell, are you meant to be?” Peter was not, actually, intending to be an asshole--he thought the question was one entirely reasonable to ask. Even if he was, as usual, a bit crude going about it.

What a hostile guy! You bound them to a lifetime of servitude through rigorous (and spiteful) research and demonic summoning, and suddenly they catch an attitude. (Of course she knows she shouldn’t find this that funny, but it is, in a way, what Infernum deserved.)
She also notices how rough he looks -- how snappy he’s being -- but doesn’t entirely comment. Mainly chalks it up to a bad day (and the common knowledge that the guy hated her guts), and settles her focus elsewhere. She didn’t care.
“Cheeky.” Lucy chuckles, lowering her hand to place onto her hip and countering his disgruntled expression with a grin. “Y’know, one way or another, you gotta settle in and get used to things. At least be grateful I’m not putting you on the street. Oh, calm down -- I’m in a good mood today!”

@reddiadem liked for Fei to cause a scene !
Really, it wasn’t his fault. It felt as though creatures like himself were striving to make themselves look more and more human by the day, so when he caught sight of a creature that didn’t- or perhaps couldn’t?- glamour his in-humanness away, Fei couldn’t help but he drawn.
At first, it may have seemed as though he was approaching to ask a question. His steps were confident and his eyes didn’t leave their goal. It was just that it would have taken anyone awhile to realize his goal was a little higher than the other man’s eyes.
Stepping into the other creature’s personal space, Fei’s hands shot up to grip the other’s horns.
“Hmm...I thought they would feel different.”

The tiny creature stood his ground, still not sold on the very large being before him not posing a threat. Quite the opposite, rather. He was ready to bolt at any moment, inelegantly having his gaze dart all over, considering possible routes of escape, and... the very magnitude of whoever this was.
A human, a human twice a man’s size, with pointy ends, he thought. It can probably defeat me in one blow.
A question that was still pending: why had this behemoth taken notice of him? Could it smell the chicken wing that was tucked away under the log? When would it strike?
“There is nothing for you to eat here. Or, you won’t be very full, so...” Came out with a whimper and a pathetic snarl.

@reddiadem continued from Fek Off!
She’d had been waving good bye to the Witch in the shop she had been talking with and had a couple bolts of fine cloth and lace in a couple colors, the more prominent being black and red and gold for her dearest Husband. All this and they still had a few more places to go before they were going to head on home when Keeva had seen it.
It had taken her a moment to access what she was seeing initially, but the way Infernum was standing there, with a posture that clearly stated he wanted to be anywhere but there. She’d stomped right on over, catching the end of a comment made about her husband. And so she did what she did and said what she said to the flirty Fae stranger.
The stranger, was a Changeling. One of the ones that tended to make pacts with Badger familiars. They balked at the sight of Keeva. Probably having thought that Infernum was mated to a lesser Fae and they could get away with it.
“She’s with.... and you’re with her??! Oh! I didn’t know~!” they took a step back and Keeva sneered at them as well. It was almost in tandem what with Infernum being behind her and all.
“Well now ye do ye numpty. Don’ let this happen again!” And with that Keeva turned around and scooped Infernum up into her arms with all of the other stuff she had and walked off to the next place they were needing to shop at.

“Shield” —reddiadem (possibly a convenient run-in after the whole forest ordeal?)
@reddiadem
How long had he been stuck in the confines of his captor’s care now? Days? Weeks? His prosthetics had been locked away, and were hardly in proper condition for use anyhow. Thankfully, they seemed to have their own...Primitive kind did his legs, enough for him to wander for the rest room.
However today, he wandered somewhat further than the restroom, and down the various long corridors and rooms of the building he was entrapped within. He was slow with his movements, careful not to tear the bandages around his battered form, and not to fall from his uncomfortable new limbs.
He had been dying of boredom, and desires any chance of excitement, which was why he now eyed the tempting descent of the stairs. Where did it go? What was down there? Could he try it?
Well, after trying to take the first step - No.
But before JJ could end his life from tumbling down the stairs on a wobbly leg, there was a sudden snatch of a hand against his collar. Something roughly pulled his away, and easily held him up now, letting himself dangle uselessly in the air for the time being.
He’d have been thankful, but by the familiarly grumpy expression shown on his captor’s face, they did not seem to want to amuse any chatter. Especially considering he just went AWOL from his room!

Well that could of gone better. The demon waits a few minutes, watching their hands regenerate from the melting mass of goop that used to be their hands. A fight had broken out in one of the alley ways that the demon used for short cuts with some drunken fools. Each one demanding something from the other, the demon really didn’t care what it was about long as they settle it soon so they could go on their way.
Instead a knife was pulled and another was brought out that ended up being a knife fight with said outsider being caught in the middle of it with hands chopped off. Crow had enough of their ‘ fight ‘ and just swallowed them up in the goop.
Still. They enjoy having all their appendages in tact instead of being cut off like that.
Soon glancing up seeing someone passing by about to turn into the alleyway where the fight had taken place.
{(:🖊️:)} “ May want to take a different route, place is filthier then usual “

“Hold still-” A monotonous voice speaking as a hand was raised to steady the king by his shoulder, the measuring tape shifting numbers as the other made slight movements. Ecstatic to find himself servicing such a demon of title, even if outwardly he remained stagnant, this was a big push for his fashion propaganda and excitement filled his chest from it.
Working diligently in taking the measurements, the first step that led to quite the amount of anticipation as he figured what to do. A body like Infernum’s wasn’t made to be hidden behind drapes and fluff, a casual tightness of the upper body and a loose layer below to bring one’s attention up, fitting for a king. Long sleeves came into mind, yet something short would be just as pleasing to the eye, or perhaps even sleeves that were folded to the elbow.
“What did you have in mind? Sleeves? Pants?” Flatly asking as he started to roll up the measure, jotting down the last of the measurements he needed and ready to move on to the next part. First and foremost: the king’s preferences. There was only so much he could do without input, the canvas needed to decide it’s own colors, “Maybe some laces, or large stitching. Hm- how do you feel about black?”

@reddiadem liked for a starter!
Gemüse swatted at a branch that hung too low for comfort.
Not that he could see much in the god awful darkness--
Nothing about this felt right--first of all, Space Alignments almost always teleported to an area with the general density of breathable oxygen; a proven law that protected them from accidentally teleporting through walls, or into the ocean, or into space. The fact that he was thrown into such a dense forest felt awfully suspicious, as if it wasn’t randomly selected at all, and secondly; the forest itself felt suspicious; as if it was abuzz with an energy he couldn’t quite comprehend. He felt like he was being watched. Like at any minute--
He stopped. Froze; stared off. He could see something in the distance, but he couldn’t see it.
Did he even want to know what the fuck that was?
