Red Crackle Week - Day 3: Future

have a lil snippet of ch 2 of atpb. that qualifies.

Graham Calloway’s life was pretty mediocre. 

And he liked it that way, thank you very much. He’d had enough thrill for a lifetime, and what had it cost? 

A whole fucking lot, if you asked him. 

After the… thing and being discharged from the hospital, he had done quite a lot of stuff that, to be completely honest, he did not know why he even did. He didn’t even try going back to his old job. No way they were gonna accept him back, anyway. He didn’t mind. Opera was a bore anyway.

He moved to Buenos Aires, for some reason, with that ACME Chief Lady’s help. He was in a sort of daze. Stumbling around, trying to find a job, something something, and the cafè was the perfect place. It was a small, street-side place, had none of the glamour of the Sydney Opera House but it would keep him off VILE’s radar, hopefully, should it ever reassemble. 

And that’s where he had been working for the past five years! The pay was good enough, and the cafè soon attracted lots of customers, and it grew, etcetera etcetera, basically his life was stable now, right? Nothing different. 

WHICH WAS GOOD. He definitely didn’t secretly wonder if the ‘No Turning Back’ mantra was true BECAUSE IT WASN’T. Just look at him now!

Today seemed to be another normal day. The regular customers were friendly, none of them bothered him much, simply ordered and took a seat. 

He saw a new customer. Okay, fine, cool. He wouldn’t have minded much, but something about her- 

Wait. Was that Carmen?

They live a domestic life with their 4 year old daughter, Sydney(or whatever you prefer). They took a trip to the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves.
