so, he starting playing his music with a small band at the wraith's den for the bar-goers where he earned himself a steady and paid slot every friday night. it's not a lot of money but it's enough to get by when he's not bartending. plus, he's got everything else he needs at greenhike since he tends to go there daily anyway.

- Sammy is the second eldest of several children born to Douglas and Katherine Turner. He grew up in a two bedroom housing estate in Hackney, London. He attended a state school on the verge of closure, he ran wild ran the estate with friends a lot older. He did everything and anything to avoid going home. Nobody saw the signs - or more, nobody wanted to see the signs. 

- Douglas and Katherine did not parent well. They barely existed well. Douglas was abusive in his methods with a temper that couldn’t be controlled around adults or children. Katherine, sweet Katherine, grew tired and fearful. Trapped and complacent. Josh and Sammy basically took on the role of parents to the smalls. 

- Shortly after his tenth birthday the family immigrated to the states. ‘too much trouble over ‘ere’ Douglas had mumbled. 

- Coming into teenage hood, Sammy grew angry. Angry at his situation and the cards dealt to him. He had always struggled in school, but now his behaviour was unmanageable. It was like his body was constantly in fight or flight mode. ‘Defensive, Lazy, Unmotivated - a teachers nightmare’ - all words scrawled across his report cards over the years. they don’t care, Sammy had realised. They don’t want to listen to my screams for help. nobody fucking cares.

- It would have been obvious, to anybody who stepped back and looked at the entire unit, that Sammy had a magnitude of odds stacked against him. Some days all he needed was a fucking win. Somebody to turn around and say that they saw him. Nobody did. He was pegged as a failure before he even had a chance. Nobody cares !! Nobody cares !! It’s all his fault and nobody fucking cares !!

- Douglas only grew angrier with age and the aggression only got worse as his kids grew stronger and started to fight back. Stupid sack of shit - you’ll never win against him.

- Sammy knew he would never win. He knew by fourteen that it was futile to try. He took whatever fist was thrown at him, and he spent his teenage years stepping between his father and his siblings, pleading with his mother to do something. If she couldn’t protect them, he would. Josh had grown useless in his own years. While Sammy only felt anger, he felt a strong desire to step away and keep his head down. Coward - why don’t you grow a better fucking coping mechanism !!

- aside from the obvious, there was another undetected reason for Sammy’s piss poor school performance. He couldn’t read - not well at least. He had managed to skirt by this issue for the majority of his life. He used their own diastase of him to hide the embarrassment. He spoke in jibberish with a shit eating grin when asked to read aloud, made sexual innuendos when questioned about board work and kicked off or doodled on school tests. Fuck it, if they didn’t care, why should he?. Until one teacher did, one who had been eyeing up the boy and taking note of his deteriorating behaviour for a while. He kept him back one afternoon and asked Sammy to read a passage from the assigned text to him. Sammy did the usual - pout and moan and roll his eyes and demand to be let go for lunch. This interaction repeated itself again and again, and after years of screaming to be seen, he suddenly wanted to be left alone again.

- this teacher didn’t leave him alone. In fact, he invested in Sammy. He encouraged him to take up drumming, and payed for his lessons (unbeknownst to Sammy, who assumed it was free), he tutored him after school and once building up some trust he took Sammy for an eye test one afternoon. It transpired that not only could Sammy not read well, he couldn’t see very well either. The opticians where shocked at how he had been going about day to day tasks with one blind eye and the other with intense short sightedness (not that he will wear the stupid glasses. Fuck that).

- Adulthood doesn’t feel too dissimilar to teenage hood, Sammy finds. It’s still just misdirected anger and school runs he didn’t sign up for. It’s still running for your life against wolves, it’s still fight or flight and pre conceived judgements. It’s still untamed loyalty that his teachers swore he would grow out of. The only difference is while he once questioned why the universe just wanted to piss on him, he know understands it’s probably deserved.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

- Exes / hookups / fwb: Sammy is massively touch starved and falls for people very easily (though he will never admit it). He always tends to be the one to fuck it up though

- The teacher: as stated in his bio, this teacher has a massive positive impact on Sammy and changed the course of his life. They still check up on Sammy and is no doubt teaching the other Turners right now. They may even be Sammys call when he gets arrested for dumb shit. 

- best friends: while Sammy can appear to be a pos, he has the biggest heart in the world. He really is just misunderstood but once he builds a connection he guards it with his life.

Enemies: It’s well known this boy likes to throw a punch or two - if you’re lucky it could be you!

Clients: As well as working at the bar, Sammy also deals drugs. The money is mostly used to support his siblings, so really it’s like charity! The more drugs you do, the more shoes there are for the kids!

Isaiah is a man many find they can get along with. He’s said to have the demeanor of a warm summer day, all bright and smiles. Or, like the sun itself. It is in fact very rare to not see him smiling.

Isaiah prefers to spend most of his time on his home planet, Galathea. But, ever since his younger sister Calliope left to join some express, he found he’d been itching to leave the confines of his beloved home.

The eldest of eleven ten children, five brothers and five four sisters.

Not exactly? Balaste's appearance shifts in my head pretty often, but things that are generally true: short, even for a drow, built like a fencer, flamboyant in his personal style, with pink eyes and wavy white hair, brushing the collar of whatever ridiculous shirt he's wearing

23. What is a random fact about your OC?

He rarely eats out because he's so picky about how his food is prepared that it makes his siblings want to kill him in the middle of the restaurant.

His mother is the answer to both of these questions. He respects and despises Shrianatar in equal measure; he is also extremely afraid of her. I don't think she has a single child with whom her relationship isn't incredibly complicated, and Balaste is no exception to this rule. How he feels about her depends on the day and what she's asking him to do.

I mean he needs therapy. What he wants is for his family to be cohesive and functional again, and there really aren't any ends he won't go to for that. Balaste loves his sisters, he really does, but he is his mother's son. He expresses love by being controlling and overbearing.

Again, not exactly. Rhienn is a short woman with dark skin, densely curly hair to her waist and a lot of it, and deep brown eyes. From there a lot of things are left to the imagination; her appearance shifts a lot in my mind's eye.

Rhienn's family are the most important people in her life (sans Mariss, more on her in a second). She would do anything for them, and she means everyone. Except for Mariss. Except for her younger sister. She knows she shouldn't feel so indifferent, but Mariss was a baby the last time Rhienn ever saw her. The impact of losing her echoes through Rhienn's life, just like it does for her parents, but Rhi doesn't get caught up in wondering who she might have grown into.

Iraë is a smaller than average drow woman, a little on the chubby side with short super-curly hair, silver eyes, and golden freckles bc of sun elf heritage on her mom's side. But I don't necessarily have a set face claim for her.

She's a level 10 bard but I'm not telling you what school.

The most important person in her life is Uriel, for reasons you Ali are well aware of and your fellow players will find out one day. Mistress Baenep isn't super important to her anymore, but the impact she's had on Iraë's life is hard to measure or put into words.

             ~ BACKGROUND/HISTORY ~

Ceilo was born and raised until the age of 6 in a pure blood household. When he didn’t seem to display any magical abilities, his parents casted him aside, caring too much about their reputation and the rumors that could start at the possibility of a squib being in their family.

Ceilo grew up and learned on the streets, often stealing of fighting others for food or clothing.

The closest thing he had to a home was an house that had yet to be sold, and he hid himself in the attic, keeping as quiet as possible to not be spotted. Once his magic started developing, he used whatever he could do to scare potential buyers away so he could keep the place to himself.

When he was 10 years old he got found out but managed to barely escape, mainly uninjured, except for the big scar on his elbow.

He tried to live under a bridge for a few months before his Hogwarts letter arrived.

The headmaster took pity on the young boy and allowed him to stay at the castle even tho his first year hadn’t started yet. Ceilo soon tried to study whatever he could, in the hopes that if he was a capable enough wizard, no one would ever dare to leave him behind again.

                   ~ PERSONALITY ~

Ceilo's classmates often describe him as charming and well-mannered, quiet but not shy.

But unknown to all his classmates, there is an inner turmoil going on inside his head, always feeling like he's being pulled into two different directions.

One part of him longs to be reunited with his biological family, and the other side of him wants to reject them completely, which he partly does by not revealing his actual last name and instead uses "Foundling."

Ceilo has the tendency to brush other people's concerns off and by the time he graduated he is able to almost perfectly mask his own concerns and anxieties, after much practice.

Ceilo is loyal to a fault and values hard work above else. If you didn't earn what you have, it might as well not be worth anything.

Out on the streets, trying to survive on his own in the muggle world, he got more than a few trust issues. He often expects people to want or expect something of him whenever they approach him.

He's very observant and can make decisions based on logic rather quickly. However, decisions that require thinking about your own emotions are very difficult for him.

When he and Ray open up to one another on their experiences, growing up in the muggle world without parental figure for a big part of their childhood, Ceilo practiced to put his walls down a bit more around Ray, who truly seemed not to expect nor need anything from him other than his company.

Alaska is the daughter of Simon Paradis, a marine biologist and Stephanie Evans, a singer who has now fallen out of fame. She is closer to her dad’s longtime girlfriend, Joséphine, whom she considers more as a maternal figure than her own mother she has not seen in over twenty-five years. She does not know she has a half-sibling from her mother’s previous marriage.

The pregnancy was totally unplanned, Steffy and Simon had met randomly during one of his research trips to California. He relocated to take care of Steffy during the pregnancy, and of Alaska when she was a baby, but the mother quickly left the portrait.

She split most of her life between Los Angeles and Montréal, following her father everywhere he went. She used to call airplanes her home, since she rarely stayed in the same place long enough to develop some sort of attachment.

She does not know much about her mother, in fact everything she knows is a lie. Her mom was a famous singer who’s trying to restore her reputation by erasing mistakes from her past, and that includes an unwanted daughter. Her father told her that Steffy had to take care of her parents who live in a farm somewhere in Montana and she could not come back since they needed her help. Alaska just assumes her mom is pretty much a ghost and she has moved on from it... Not really though but maybe she’ll believe it if she keeps telling herself that.

She pulled out a Justin Bieber in 2009 and became Internet famous very fast and for very unknown reasons. Her cover of Take On Me by A-Ha (see their MTV unplugged 2017 performance) blew up and caught more attention than she could ever imagine. What started as a secret trip to her father’s office to look through his old vinyls turned into a VIP ticket for fame. The more she posted, the more famous she got. She earned hundreds of thousands of views on her covers of Britney Spears, U2, Lady Gaga, you name it, she’s probably sang it.

Her father, who’s finances have been struggling, encouraged her to pursue this as a career and sign a deal to sing her own music. It was like the American Idol experience, minus the annoying and straight-up rude comments from Simon Cowell.

She was in luck, Lacey had no clue what to do with her life. Instead of being jobless and hopeless at 18 (though, at the beginning of her fame, she did get a professional training to become a beautician, of all things!), she was promised a great future as a pop star.

“Alaska Paradis, with a name like that, you are destined to fame” was the first headline ever written about her on a tabloid. It’s been a roller coaster ever since, except she has been waiting for the final, terrifying drop.

It happened when she hit a creative block and could not provide her international fanbase, producers, and entourage, the content they desperately needed from her. The financial stability of her father relies on Alaska’s shoulders and the more research projects he throws himself in requesting support from his daughter, the deeper the abyss of her debts grows. She has resulted to desperate measures, like accumulating brand deal after brand deal, becoming pretty much the sell-out her mother grew out to be as well.

It’s almost as though she is having a midlife crisis, at the not-so respectable age of thirty. She is redefining her future, one bad decision at a time. Her poor agent has to clean up after every messes she leaves behind, whether it’s a PR relationship or friendship gone wrong, a sponsorship that does not work out or her producer that is growing impatient over the lack of new music.

     growing   up   in   the   presence   of   someone   who’s   honest   about   their   lack   of   desire   to   be   a   parent   ,   was   not   something   nisrina   could   stay   ignorant   to   for   too   long   .    her   innocence   normalizing   it   until   she   was   old   enough   to   perceive   the   world   around   her   .   after   that   ,   it   became   something   that   was   sitting   right   in   front  of   her   face   .   it   was   in   the   books   she   read   ,   the   movies   she   watched   ,   and   in   the   feeling   she   got   as   she   surveyed   her   friends   mother’s   who   looked   down   at   them   with   tenderness   spilling   from   their   hues   .

     nisrina    ,   she   clung   to   the   good   in   those   around   her   ;   no   matter   how   many   times   those   people   proved   themselves   to   be   anything   but   deserving   of   her   love   .    and   with   her   mother   ?   she   tried   .   again   and   again   ,   nisrina   would   reach   out   for   sabine   .   cry   for   her   affection   ,   plead   for   an   ounce   of   interest   .   she   could   offer   gentle   smiles   ,   present   her   achievements   ,   even   tried   acting   out   in   hopes   that   it   would   earn   just   the   slightest   reaction  ..   but   nothing   ever   worked   ,   in   fact   it   seemed   to   just   drive   sabine   away   .   until   eventually   ,   nisrina   was   pushed   into   the   arms   of   a   nanny   and   sabine   was   on   a   plane   to   whatever   country   would   get   her   the   farthest   from   her   daughter   .

     ezequiel   smothered   nisrina   ,   went   to   the   extreme   lengths   to   get   her   anything   and   everything   she   could   ever   want   .   he   wanted   to   fill   the   hole   that   sabine   engraved   in   her   ,   swore   that   if   nisrina   would   let   him   ,   he’d   love   her   enough   for   the   both   of   them  .  

    with   sabine   always   mia   ,   and   her   father   never   staying   too   long   in   one   place   for   work   ,   nisrina   would   be   pulled   from   public   school  ,   and   enrolling   in   private   studies   .    giving   her   the   opportunity   to   learn   without   being   present   in   a   school   setting   ,   and   allowing   her   father   to   bring   her   along   with   him   .   nisrina   would   go   from   an   empty   house   with   staff   members   to   her   father   and   his   hotel   staff   .   not   the   biggest   difference   ,   but   to   have   her   father   always   one  room   away   made   her   feel   less   lonely   .  

   during   these   years   ,   she   would   only   speak   to   her   mother   less   then   three   times   a  year  ..   but   at   that   point   ?   she   was   long   over   begging   her   for   affection   .   the   media   would   brand   her   as   a   daddy’s   girl   ,   the   future   face   of   the   vasquez   hotel   chains   .   her   life   could   consist   of   penthouses   ,   ruling   the   hotel   kitchen   ,   running   aimlessly   around   hallways   ,  singing   in   the   dinning   hall   ,   and   finding   family   in   the   strangest   of   places   .   her   father   would   expand   from   las   vegas   ,   to   new   york   ,   to   the   caribbeans   ,    and   eventually   to   italy  .

way back aka backstory !

tommy’s something of a legacy here in los angeles --- his dad’s a big time movie star with a weirdly indulged, but somewhat successful music career on the side. his mom, a socialite through and through, with a taste for the good life ruling her every choice.

life until he was five was great --- toys and money and love and a pretty damn good existence. until his mom decided one day, she wasn’t fit to be a mother; wasn’t cut out for the life of walking two steps behind someone till she was dead or passed over for a younger model. and that was fkn that, in the harcroft home.

tommy was old enough to remember the talk, the rumours, the scandal of his mom walking out and seemingly disappearing --- but young enough to still want his mom.

from that moment on, and it was tommy and his dad against the world. even when his dad found someone else, had another kid. it was still them against the world. he cherishes his dad like you wouldn’t believe, looks up to him any number of ways.

because of that, tommy’s always somewhat delighted in his own legacy and the power it involves. while he was a good natured, sweet kid --- once his mom left, he took a turn for the worse; and took a turn for the dark.

( there was a switch flipped in his mind. for all his mom said she cared, said she loved him, and loved his dad. for all his mom said she wouldn’t ever leave --- it turned out to be a lie. a joke with no punchline. he started to see that things like feelings and loyalty to your loved ones never really mattered, because people did what they wanted in the end. )

so why wasn’t he?

he was getting into clubs at sixteen on the virtue of his last name; living in the lap of luxury; perfectly content to whittle away his trust fund to the low thousands.

it was his step-mother that, in the end, pushed him towards something better. putting her foot down and demanding he be a better role model for his baby sister, tommy finally, finally decided to find himself a career.

always something of a poet in his youth, he channelled that into something... more.

( what followed was a serious of mixtapes and eps, eluding to darker desires, a fucked up sense of self. all released under half-assed pseudonyms, just for the sheer fact of having something to do. he didn’t expect the response he got --- shares all over soundcloud and filtering into instagram stories. eventually, he claimed the work as his own --- and re-released it under a simple name: tommy. )

street smarts aka personality !

tommy’s incredibly close with his baby sister, ( she’s also a wc ! ) despite the age gap. there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for the lil tkye, and he often credits her with being the reason he gets his shit together on the daily. he wants to be a good person for his sister, and wants her to have a good role model.

despite the brillant smile, the creative ideas, the charming personality --- tommy has a heart of stone. the concept of monogamy is foreign to him, and for every girlfriend he’s had, there’s another girl he’s cheated on her with. 

his issues with his mother, his family, all manifest in horrible, unique ways --- his casual attitude towards sex and feelings, his liberal use of drugs and alcohol; being just as quick to betray someone for a leg up, as he is take them under his wing.

he’s callous and cold --- he’s sarcastic and doesn’t want to take a deeper look at his own issues. why should he? no one else ever does. why does he have to be the bigger fucking person?

his music is, really, everything to him. ( a side note --- his claims re music are the weeknd, with a slight dash of miguel for aesthetics. i’ll have more to say in this area when my spotify stops being a shit. )

he’s one of those people who attracts hangers on like nobody’s buisness --- his dad’s populairty and legacy being the main factor. not that tommy would ever dare to suggest he didn’t like this part of his life --- god no.

pr relationship ! there’s probably one on the horizon, something to try and clean up his image just a little bit. a hard task, since tommy’s more inclined to fuck his way through a guest list than settle on monogamy.
