A mountain could be here today, but not tomorrow. We forget that the wind has power to sand them down and whittle them away.  “Last One” 

1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing,

 "The Last One." Chassis number 7500079 rolled off the production line on May 15, 1957.

The 300 SL Gullwing wasn't just a car. It was Mercedes-Benz showing the world what happens when German engineers decide to build art. 

Under the bonnet sat a 3.0-liter straight-six that was essentially a racing engine with road manners. It produced 240 horsepower, which might sound modest by today's standards, but in 1954, that was enough to make it the fastest production car in the world. 

It could hit 60 mph in under 10 seconds and reach 163 mph flat out - numbers that would embarrass many modern sports cars.

Only 1,400 examples of the coupé were built during the three years it was in production.

Renault Sport Spider Preserial, 1995. A prototype for the production version of the Sport Spider. The preserial was finished in Sport Red, the production Spider was only available in 3 other colours, Sport Yellow, Sport Blue and Titanium Grey while the rear was always finished in Fjord Grey. The production spider was first produced with the aeroscreen device but in 1997, a version with a full glass windscreen and wiper became available.

i still get fascinated by how jannik and carlos are the opposite of each other on court and how they are sometimes like that off court too. jannik rides a little vespa bike to his training wearing the most average looking helmet one can possibly find, and meanwhile carlos drives a BRIGHT RED BMW 2 SEATER

Saturn Sky Red Line, 2006. A sports car based on GM's Kappa platform that was shared with the Pontiac Solstice. The Red Line had a 260hp turbocharged 2.0 litre Ecotech 4 cylinder engine. Production ended with the closure of the Wilmington Assembly plant in July 2009. The same car was sold in Europe as the Opel GT
