the time has come where i can now have a long detailed post about the ball. i will try to write in chronological order, & it is long & extensive so it will be under the cut/page break:
6:20-6:30 (18:20-18:30) — arrival. large arrows to the ballroom. outfit: grey striped suit, white button up, flower tie, bohemian adjacent bag bought four years ago adorned with pins, most recent being the radioactive symbol. black loafers i always wear. unsure of table to sit at, but eventually make my way. i did not get to read them, but there were words up on the wall alongside photos of some of the people at the event… met two old ladies, very sweet. the general median age of the people there was 50-70, with some outliers. it was beautiful, & yes i say that a lot, but i mean it always always. i wrote bullet points when i was there, but even then i said the amount of grey hair was wonderful. unsure of exact numbers of attendees. no one i knew! wonderful. there was a person that looked very.. director adjacent, big ocular lenses & all black attire. turtleneck & suit. saw an old man with double bridged glasses. so many people seen, really.. a state senator was also there. felt very bougie… not the senator, but the general event. couldn’t help it. met the person whom gave out invites, a man named scott. we talked briefly; i was there earlier than everyone else in that entourage who arrived. it did not help my perception of the wealth by hearing, even as a joke, of him getting a $10k check… then to see him get said check…. I could not see the amount, but this was right in front of my eyes… next to me…. was baffled. what if was that actual amount? not for me to know. i also tried an appetizer given by a nice woman named latoya, stuffed mushrooms. meat-like… they were OK, but i could not finish. was afraid i inherited the mushroom allergy & would have a reaction at the event from it… i did not.
when everyone he brought arrived, got to meet a few up close. one person had snake bites. didn’t speak to them much. also met two cousins, one named marcus & another named emma… marcus adorned a pokemon themed hawaiian shirt with pikachu & exeggutor, emma a nice floral dress. marcus had a brat themed widget, i know by the distinct but also frankly not that appetizing font choice… talked about place i work & how the venue didn’t have gender neutral bathrooms, which feels ironic for a queer event… another person stopped by & talked, a name i am frustrated i do not believe i remember. started with a d. british, from england… i did not expect a british person would want to be here, of all places… emma made note they were ‘intellectual’ after they discussed said gender neutral bathrooms. they were. they made a good analogy about queer people still existing in spite of the current political climate, saying the dinosaurs did not all go extinct, & the ones that did not grew wings & became birds, but still have those prehistoric traits. i liked this analogy. i also like birds, so it is inevitable when they say this i will bring up the turkey & its own legs. yes, like turkeys, they said. mentioned my work & its gender neutral bathrooms, to which they then said they adopted a kitten from the place. made sure i would connect them with my boss later, & did. regardless, all nice people. small grey in d’s hair. so much willing grey, too, like a woman they were with that was not that old to have greys but did anyway. truly beautiful. many hawaiian shirts for the event, i’m realizing. many formal too, though.
the buffet did make me feel a bit less, but this is inevitable… a beet salad, quesadilla with beans inside, & make your own taco… the best food items were the meat, amusingly. also got one (1) shrimp to try. when eating, it did feel abnormal to be in such a high class looking setting… not unnerving, per se, but just a little bit. i did not actually grab a beet from the beet salad, only leaves & small red dressing. dressing was good. taco was good, quesadilla was okay. tore around beans. shrimp was firm, like a muscle or a human tendon…. sorry. i do not like seafood, but i indulged. was grateful the shrimp was prepared correctly, though. for dessert, there was a lemon custard. first thought it was cheesecake; wasn’t. it was nice. i like lemon flavored items. i ordered a shirley temple which was not as good as the ones made personally. four dollars, but learned refills are free if the person keeps the cup. i did, so i got to fill back up.. i love shirley temples. also joked with the bartender when i asked if there were drinks that were not alcoholic because i am very very very very very obviously not 21. i made the joke to scott i am like a little peasant boy. he said it was funny. regardless, gave a 5 & gave another dollar when i came back for a refill & learned they were free.
after eating, i asked if i could go see my partner who was working in another part of the huge area. said yes. had to walk a decent way, almost got lost. long aqua hallways with aqua doors with a palm tree on them. just kept going, & going.. did not take a photo. thought i was in a dream, for a minute. eventually got to the area where he works.. they’re doing credits now.. its absurd. just do the amount of money! why credits? truly infuriating. nevertheless, inserted a 20. arcades are the place of indulgence. admittedly, spent ten credits on a photo booth. i do not know if its obvious, but i don’t really like taking photos of myself. i can & i will, but drawing the self is more comfortable. still, i wanted to try & break from that mold. won a dragon plush after an attempt. will give to my cousin, as he loves dinosaurs & dragons… i also saw a huge creeper plushie.. i tried to win an enderman… i did not, unsurprisingly. played the piano tile game, as its an adequate way to get tickets if you know how to plan accordingly. 2nd place! spent tickets on a certain sour rope candy i have been unable to find in stores. egregious ticket prices, & even my partner knows it… nevertheless, we move forward! 127 tickets left over, for a different day. i say i should go back to the event & made him pinky promise me he will drive safe in the snow
—when i return, an award is being given. duck down into a seat. a very emotional & intimate story is then told by the recipient that feels frankly insulting to try & write here. it is her own story, & it is beautiful & sad at the same time. two people at the table from earlier have left. the ball floor soon opens up. songs start playing, some a bit obvious like im coming out! & others not as expected. at some point during the music my boss sees me & comes over to say hello, to which i say hi cheerfully & get to meet both her partner & another person who works at the place i work on mondays. buzzcut & suit. the wonders of living. today the snow made it impossible to leave my road, hence why i am not there now. it was nice to see her in an outside setting & cemented my sadness that she will be having to move due to rent prices near the area.. i will miss her greatly. she seems to just be very nit-picky about the job, which makes sense because that is very important for the animals you’re dealing with. one small accidental adult wet food instead of i/d could cause a cat to get immensely sick. i admire her & plan to write a small letter before her departure. there are also many trans women at the event, which feels so amazing & so neat to see so many just.. happy existing, not being bothered or troubled. one woman had a black & white & pink dress with a pink lei, & i believe she is someone that deserves professional photography done of her. i do hope it is obvious i did not take pictures of people, though.. would never do that, only describe. another woman had a thrifted brown dress, & she looked great! two men also had rainbow suits, one tie-dye in pattern & another like a rainbow night sky with stars. truly so intricate & beautiful to see. another woman also had peacock feathers in her hair.
as for dancing, a conga line was made for a short period of time— i was apart of it! a nice old lady was behind me, one had a cane in the group. i saw during some of the interactive songs she held her cane up to move along, which i thought was something i had not seen in a long time, maybe ever, & it was truly such a human thing. another human thing was the song i can’t help falling in love with you, & i will not tiptoe around the fact it made me cry to stand there. i danced on the sidelines a bit for each song, but for this one i did so & watched so many old women & their wives dance with one another. it reminded me of an old couple my mother used to take care of who loved each other up until & after they died. because of that, i burst into tears. quiet, falling tears. smiled the entire time until my face hurt & even then kept going. it was beautiful & precious & so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so sweet. of course, this then gets juxtaposed by a high energy song. one was, quote, “song from childhood electric toothbrush.” which is true. it was. recommended poker face to the DJ, a nice older gentleman. when it started to play, it went from maybe 4-6 people on the dance floor to like, 20. felt some pride for that one. afterwards, HOT TO GO played. sure, i could be contrarian & sit down, but i wanted to dance along. a lot of my dancing is spinning & moving & tapping feet & snapping/clapping. i screamed the lyrics, “WHATS IT TAKE TO GET YOUR NUMBER? WHATS IT TAKE TO BRING YOU HOME? HURRY UP, ITS TIME FOR SUPPER! ORDER UP, I’M HOT TO GO!” which has leaked onto having a sore throat this morning.. it is fine by me. learned the choreography from a person on the dance floor. i also danced to the song espresso, one of three people on the floor for that.
i had an undeniable amount of fun in a room filled with older queer people that reminded me we have always been here & will continue to be until the end of time / heat death of the universe. its lovely, & it will definitely make me cry to think about.
this is not even describing all of the outfits / people in detail, like this amazing older woman with a sparkled red tophat & red sparkled dress with smile wrinkles & crows feet whom i complimented, or a woman with this LED rainbow cape that would sway when she moved it & seems definitely like a personal creation (whom i also complimented), or the sapphic couple with matching red dresses who i could tell are enamored with one another, or the older ladies with the flower crowns, or the person in a betelgeuse cosplay, or the woman with flowers in her hair that went along with her flower dress, or the man with a trans flag shirt, or the guy with long hair in a ponytail who had a rather simple outfit but an impressive array of dance moves, one i called in my notes “crab dance.” there was so much life & love & prosperity in it all, and none of it can be replicated organically, only described for what it was.
if you read all this, i love & appreciate you & thank you for taking up some of your time to read my ramblings. i can hear people playing in the snow outside & it reminds me of all there is & can be in this world that is reminders of why its worth living. thank you

Hi, thanks for this super informative blog, I was curious if you had any recommendations for "Pico" sized setups. I know Opae Ula, the Hawaiian Red shrimp for example, don't really need a super high tech tank, and are brackish. I was also curious about other genus of hermit crabs, like Calcinus, as I've heard they can be housed alongside Opae Ula if fed properly. Thank you again for all your hard work compiling this information and making it easily digestible for us. 👍👍👍 Thank you!
I think this is a very old ask - sorry I've been lazy!
The thing about hermits is that they are all pretty much omnivorous to some degree and many species flat out should not be trusted with smaller tankmates. Calcinus laurentae and C. tibicen are pretty safe bets with a variety of tankmates, though. My favorite species, almost always reef safe, is Clibanarius tricolor. Very peaceful, very common and inexpensive. I'd look into those first.

What’s a Quick Way to Spice Up Popcorn for Movie Night?
Popcorn is the ultimate movie night snack—light, crunchy, and endlessly customizable. While classic butter and salt are always a good choice, why not take your popcorn to the next level with bold, savory flavors? One of the easiest and most delicious ways to upgrade your popcorn is by using furikake seaweed seasoning. This Japanese-inspired seasoning adds umami, crunch, and a slight saltiness, making your popcorn taste gourmet with minimal effort.
Let’s explore how to make the best furikake popcorn for your next movie night!
Why furikake is perfect for popcorn
Furikake is a Japanese-style seasoning blend that typically includes dried seaweed, sesame seeds, salt, and sometimes dried fish or bonito flakes. It’s known for its deep umami flavor and slight crunch, which makes it perfect for sprinkling over popcorn.
Using rice seasoning nori komi furikake on popcorn creates a delicious mix of salty, nutty, and slightly oceanic flavors—similar to the taste of sushi but in snack form. If you’ve never tried furikake popcorn before, you’re in for a treat!
How to make furikake popcorn in minutes
Making furikake popcorn is incredibly easy. You just need a few simple ingredients and about 5 minutes to prep.
Ingredients:
6 cups freshly popped popcorn (air-popped or stovetop)
2 tablespoons butter or neutral oil (like avocado or coconut oil)
2 tablespoons nori fume furikake (or your favorite furikake blend)
½ teaspoon salt (optional, depending on how salty your furikake is)
Instructions:
Pop the popcorn – Use your favorite method (air popper, stovetop, or microwave). Place it in a large bowl.
Melt the butter or heat the oil – Drizzle it evenly over the warm popcorn, tossing as you go to coat all the kernels.
Sprinkle on the furikake – Add the nori fume furikake while tossing the popcorn to ensure even distribution.
Taste and adjust – Add extra furikake or salt if needed.
Enjoy! – Serve immediately and get ready for a flavor-packed movie night.
Different furikake blends to try
While nori fume furikake is a great choice for popcorn, there are other furikake blends that can add different flavor twists:
Wasabi furikake – Adds a bit of heat for those who love spicy snacks.
Sesame furikake – Extra nutty and toasty.
Hawaiian-style furikake – Often includes dried shrimp or bonito flakes for a richer umami kick.
Try mixing and matching different types of furikake seaweed seasoning to find your perfect popcorn flavor!
Fun variations for furikake popcorn
Want to take your popcorn even further? Try these fun twists:
1. Spicy furikake popcorn: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or sriracha powder along with your furikake.
2. Sweet & salty furikake popcorn: Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the popcorn before adding furikake for a sweet-savory combo.
3. Cheesy furikake popcorn: Mix in grated parmesan or nutritional yeast for extra umami.
4. Garlic butter furikake popcorn: Add garlic powder to the melted butter before drizzling it over your popcorn.
Why you’ll love Furikake popcorn
Super easy to make – Takes just a few minutes.
Big flavors with little effort – Furikake adds umami, crunch, and saltiness instantly.
Customizable – You can mix it with other flavors for a unique twist.
Healthier than store-bought snacks – No artificial flavors or preservatives!
Final thoughts
If you’re looking for a quick, delicious way to spice up your popcorn for movie night, Furikake Food is the answer. Whether you use rice seasoning nori komi furikake, nori fume furikake, or another blend, this simple seasoning takes popcorn to a whole new level with its savory, umami-packed flavor.
So grab a big bowl, sprinkle on some furikake, and enjoy your upgraded movie night snack!

Tiny Marine Fishes
The ocean is home to some of the most fascinating creatures on Earth, from behemoth-sized whales to microscopic-sized plankton. Among these, Tiny Marine Fishes are key to maintaining the subtle equilibrium within marine ecosystems. These small creatures are valued for their contribution to color, life, and diversity to the underwater world. If you are a marine enthusiast, aquarist, or just an admirer of marine biodiversity, Tiny Marine Fish would leave you dumbfounded.
The Significance of Tiny Marine Fishes
Despite their small size, Tiny Marine Fishes are importance to marine food web and form food for larger fishes, seabirds, and marine predators that keep the food chain and food web going. They also help in maintaining coral reef health by cleaning algae and parasites that endanger coral with suffocation.
Certain species like the neon goby clean parasites from larger fishes. Others, for example, damselfish, defend their habitat and thus help protect the coral reef. These small roles add up in importance, showing how much Tiny Marine Fishes contribute to supporting marine life.
Popular Tiny Marine Fishes for Aquariums
Many aquarium enthusiasts love keeping Tiny Marine Fishes due to their vibrant colors, unique behaviors, and relatively low space requirements. Here are some popular species:
1. Clownfish
Perhaps the most famous of all, clownfish are adored for their bright orange and white stripes. They have a fascinating symbiotic relationship with sea anemones, where they find protection while providing food in return.
2. Neon Goby
These tiny blue-and-black striped fish are excellent cleaners. They set up “cleaning stations” where larger fish come to get rid of parasites.
3. Pajama Cardinalfish
Known for their unusual patterns and peaceful nature, these fish are easy to care for and make a great addition to home aquariums.
4. Royal Gramma
A stunning mix of purple and yellow, the royal gramma is a hardy and peaceful fish that thrives in reef tanks.
5. Firefish Goby
With its elongated body and bright red-orange tail, this species is a true eye-catcher. They are shy but adapt well to community aquariums.
Where to Find Tiny Marine Fishes
These fishes are widely distributed across tropical and subtropical oceans, particularly around coral reefs. Some of the best locations to spot them include:
The Great Barrier Reef (Australia)
The Coral Triangle (Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia)
Caribbean Reefs
Hawaiian Waters
For those interested in owning Tiny Marine Fishes, it’s essential to purchase them from reputable aquarium stores that focus on sustainable sourcing.
Caring for Tiny Marine Fishes in Home Aquariums
If you’re considering keeping Tiny Marine Fishes at home, here are some essential tips:
Tank Size & Setup: While they are small, many of these species need ample space to swim and hide. A well-established reef tank with plenty of live rock is ideal.
Water Conditions: Stable temperature (24-27°C), salinity levels, and pH balance are crucial for their health.
Diet: These fish thrive on a diet of high-quality pellets, frozen shrimp, and live foods like brine shrimp.
Tank Mates: Always choose compatible species. Some tiny fish are territorial, so research before adding new tankmates.
Conclusion
The mesmerizing world of Tiny Marine Fishes offers endless fascination, whether in the wild or in an aquarium. Their vibrant colors, intricate behaviors, and ecological importance correlate with them being a must for marine biodiversity. Whether an aquarist or merely a friend of marine life, these tiny treasures of the ocean deserve a call from you.

hellooo!! listened to Heaven, Iowa and So Much (For) Stardust!! (also listened to the other ones! Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride was a very welcome surprise among everything, its really fun! ☄️! Super Bon Bon is very catchy! "Awaken, My Love!" is the album you're getting your sister, thank you for sharing!)
i will never get over FOB lyrics theyre so good forever hgkj i love so many of the lyrics from Heaven, Iowa, chock full of good lines <33 "I will never ask you for anything / except to dream sweet of me / tell me when the party ends / will you still love me for who i am?" the choir shout on "twice the dreams BUT HALF THE LOVE" where the music halts suddenly, i LIVE for that hgkj i could quote half the song at y'all but this is long enough as is <33
!! ive listened to So Much (For) Stardust before and liked it fine, but it only clicked with me hard today hjkg its REALLY GOOD, i love the classical vibes it starts with, the strings and piano are godly <3 and the intense beat kicking in later, with the sudden trumpet on "burning!" is GOOD <33 ("Like a sledgehammer to a disco ball" <- NODS AT THIS!!!) the vibes are immaculate truly, this song kicks ass hgkjg <33 <22
okay thats all!! sorry if that was a lot! ^^' may i ask what colors these two are for y'all? :] <33 <22
God, yeah. Heaven, Iowa is a favourite of ours for a lotta reasons. To answer your question, it's a nice cream colour... On one side. Think of it as a coin; one side's cream, the other is black and electric blue, like a comet.
Our favourite lyric has to be verse two. No clue why but it just hits.
This song is especially important to our walk-in, Trant. He walked in right on our birthday, which so happens to be the day FOB released this album... It's an important album to us for that reason and plenty others, haha.
Can't say much about Trant, never met the guy personally, but you're familiar enough with his source (Disco Elysium); he acts fairly similar to his source self. Very talkative, will not hesitate to talk your ear off.
So Much (For) Stardust... Oh boy. I think the first time we heard this song we genuinely cried some. Can't remember, memory's fucked, but it definitely made us emotional in some way that first listen.
Our favourite lyric from this one's gotta be one of the pre-choruses:
... Can't really explain why.
This one's colour is hard to pin down. It's got the same black-electric blue background as Heaven, Iowa (and by extension MANY other songs off this album), but it's... So much more than that. Lotta yellows, some reds too, golds as well as plenty of blues... It's like a geode of colour. I guess a good way to explain it would be "shrimp colours", colours we can't exactly put into words, try as we might.
We're glad you like the songs! Fall Out Boy was a very influential band for us as a teen, they were our absolute favourite back then and they're a band we always find ourselves returnin' to tbh.
-Cygnus
#ask#voliii#Funnily enough it was Hugo that added Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride to the playlist. REM thought you'd enjoy it a lot :]

First image is a messy sketch drawing of Bubby, Benry, and Gordon with text on the top saying “inventing a new and more exciting kind of bowling.” Bubby is in the middle of throwing an actively burning bowling ball at a bowling pin—except the bowling pin is on top of Benrey’s head. Benrey is sitting calmly in a chair facing Bubby, drinking a soda with a Black Mesa Silly Straw. Gordon is in the foreground looking shocked and yelling, “NO.”
Second image is a messy colored drawing of Coomer wearing a green Hawaiian shirt. He is standing near an aquarium sitting on a table. The aquarium contains sand, coral, some plants, and a Mantis shrimp. Coomer is looking at the tank with a happy smile and vacant eyes saying, “It’s as shrimple as that!”
Third image is a black/white drawing of just Benry’s head facing the viewer while their chin is angled slightly down. They’re smiling ominously, a black shadow completely covering the top half of his face. The background is a splattering of reds and blacks with white text above Benrey’s head saying, “Benry has won the argument.” This whole thing is supposed to be a parody of the “Gollum has won the argument” image from the Gollum game.
The fourth image is a collage of the three original memes/photos the drawings above are based on.
:end ID]

currently working on a complicated whale render so to take a break from that i drew some quick shitty hlvrai doodles
gordon knows benry will be fine—he’s more concerned about his nice wooden floors. and that’s a mantis shrimp btw.

Dine-Out Meals of July 2023, Ranked

Kona Cafe's Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes: Recipe with Sauce

Kona Cafe's Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes are a delicious and indulgent breakfast option that offer a taste of the tropics. Served at the Kona Cafe in Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, these pancakes are a popular menu item that draw inspiration from the flavors of Hawaii. The pancakes are made with a fluffy and buttery batter, studded with crunchy macadamia nuts and chunks of sweet pineapple. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream, these pancakes are a decadent breakfast treat that is perfect for a special occasion or a lazy weekend morning. In this context, we can explore the cultural significance of macadamia nuts and pineapple in Hawaiian cuisine, and how they have become popular ingredients in a variety of dishes and desserts. We can also discuss the importance of using high-quality ingredients, such as fresh pineapple and locally sourced macadamia nuts, to create a delicious and wholesome breakfast. Finally, we can highlight the unique experience of dining at the Kona Cafe and how it offers a taste of the tropics in the heart of Disney World. More Delicious Recipes You Will Love: - Lemon Garlic Shrimp Spoodles Recipe: A Delicious and Easy Meal - Mac And Cheese With Red Wine Sauce – Jiko - Magical Star Cocktail – Disney Parks So last week was Fat Tuesday and it has always been a tradition for me to have pancakes for good luck. And I’m in the midst of my post-trip Disney blues, which meant that no ordinary pancakes would do. I’m craving Disney, in the worst possible way… For lucky pancakes, nothing short of Disney pancakes could be considered acceptable. Apparently, I must have pleased the Tiki God of pancakes (is there such a thing?) because not only did I manage to find the perfect pancake recipe, but it is from Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. Can I just say, if there was ever in the world a recipe that was more like a warm hug then this one, honestly, I don’t know what it is. First off, that amazing smell every morning that floats through the Polynesian? Turns out it’s these pancakes. It’s the most beautiful smell and it instantly brought me back to Disney. All that was missing was the tiki music and a tropical fountain. Seriously, I got a little choked up. I’ll admit that while these may not look terribly gorgeous (and they don’t at Kona either), as far as taste, let me just say… Pure heaven. These may be the best pancakes I’ve had in my entire life, and that’s saying something as I’m quite the pancake connoisseur. They taste deliciously sweet, and the pineapple paired with the butter creates this beautiful, nutty, tropical flavor that goes so well with the pancakes. I’m not joking when I say that now I crave these pancakes… All the time. They’re really just that good. I made no real changes to the recipe, other then accidentally burning the toasted macadamia nuts ever so slightly. I suggest making the pineapple sauce first, allowing that to cook while preparing the pancakes. The nut butter keeps really, really well in the fridge and, as I’ve discovered, tastes good on everything. I’m almost embarrassed to share all the things I’ve put it on. A simple-to-make, insanely delicious pancake recipe that makes my house smell like the Polynesian? I may be in serious trouble… ~~~~ °o° ~~~~ In addition to the delicious food and recipes, Disney World is also known for its unique dining experiences, such as character dining and themed restaurants. Whether you want to have breakfast with Mickey Mouse, dine in a replica of a sci-fi drive-in theater at Hollywood Studios, or enjoy a meal with an ocean view at the Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot, there's something for everyone. And with the help of Recipes Today and the How to Make category, you can even recreate some of these magical dining experiences in your own home. The story that’s been sittting in my drive for a long time
idk, I had this thing sitting here, where i’ve been doing many edits over time, but never actually tried publicizing it. Well, here’s to showing it. Journey. Chapter 1. He sits in the cockpit, slumping deeper into his seat, his space biker suit rustles on the faux, orange leather. His suit was painted, decaled, and reinforced with a hard black and red jacket, over a purple, azul, and black under vest. Masayoshi Takanaka’s Brasilian Skies is playing in the background.Stars, the blackness drift passed as he gazes through the teal tint of the canopy. His eyes landing forward, his ship's front nose coated in stark whites, banana yellows, and rich azure shine under the subtle yet sure flares of the suns way, way yonder. He scans back, a dark blue purviews the rear, as a monochrome, steely silver tint rolls across the forward swept wings. A soda can is holstered onto his chair. He yanks it and chugs it. “Trevor, our battery is getting low.”His eyes glances up to see the hud; six percent leaks off the screenHis voice is like a cello, deep, soft: “Oh?” before the tone sharpens in pitch, “oh. Sonuva.” He flips his back over the console, scrunched over at the map for any sort of thing nearby. The image then expands, blooms outwarding from the hud provided, where several red dotted lines hook onto Trevor’s visualized ship.“Primarily, we’ve got a maintenance shop and a galvo convenience store, which are both approximately 300, 600 miles (482, 965 meters) away respectively.” “Wait, but we, or I guess I don’t need stuff at the minute?”“Just thought it would be smart to collect some things in case.” “Mm, fair enough. “The other though is quite the locale. According to the site, it’s ‘the iconic Ni & Rahun’s Saloon, the one that stars in all your favorite Dreamsy Schwarmav films, with Red Scar, Red Scar 2, Red Scar 3, Red Scar: the fourth one, Sed Rcar, the Shameless Ripoff, Buggers the Wilkthor, Shrimp Salagavar the Coward! War Stars, Blancacasa. It is the cantina to rule them all!’ Have you heard of any of these?” Trevor stares at the speaker where the AI spoke with a longing confusion. A cough could be heard in space somehow. “I see.”Trevor lasers his gaze deep into space, the stare intense enough to cut worlds in half. “Hm. Tourist trap, or a normal resupply. Hmmmm.” -- -- Trevor slurps an overpriced cocktail from an extremely ornate glass, while sitting in a beach chair. His suit’s off, hawaiian shirt and get up on, his helmet replaced with shades made from the glass of his visor. “Man, this is… not really worth the money, but you know what, this drink isn’t actually that bad. Never knew Choar fruit could work with berries, peaches, and tangpea tea like that.” He looks up. A yellow sun, not too dissimilar to the one from earth stares down at a neat, blue skied beach like resort, with folk of all species enjoying themselves. Some of them were surfing, some of them were making sand castles, some of them were bathing in the sun, some humans were teaching a few aliens how to play volleyball, while the aliens were teaching the humans some of their beach sports. Another loud slurp percusses the air. A live band plays to the right of him, people dance along to the beat. He notices one of the members, a crustaceous species was playing a seeming solo with claw fingers, while on the left, a human was beating all of the other species at a pull up contest. Trev giggles, “Wow, that is impressive. To the both of them. Yo, I am so curious though, that must’ve taken years for that to learn and work.” Meanwhile the name: “Ali!” was getting louder and louder each second, as the man continued to pull harder and harder.“And that’s 200 pull ups. And my muscles hurt like shit.” he forces a smile for the audience around him, before he winces fully. “No fair, don’t you guys get like, military grade steroids and like enhancements and shit” an alien, cuttlefish octopus like creature replies,“Yeah, and what do your supplements contain again?” a moose, elk, bear jeers“Well, shut first off, those are natural steroids, and besides those are of recommended dosage, these guys are entirely off of, whatever dosage.” “Hm. Sure they are. Hey, what are the ingredients for your ‘roids?”The woman the alien was speaking to just sounded confused: “I dunno? How am I supposed to know? I’m just a part of their services.”The alien pouts.“Anyway, before you flex your fuckin pharmacist-ness on me.”Another woman responds along side the other “I don’t remember exactly, but the infantry uses a lot of Octacarine for the major strength enhancement.”“Hah, and guess what it says on the box!” Somehow, the alien manages to pull the whole bottle out of her pocket, and points to the label. “I hate you.” “Although to be fair, the type of octa is a significantly stronger variant of the original.” “Hah, see, told you.” “Tsk. I hate you now.” Trevor shakes his head as he goes back to admiring the view on his beach chair, dipping his drink below a spigot, and his toes in the water. -- --“Reserve battery has been fueled to 75%” Trevor does an ok gesture to the speaker, before he waits, finishing the fattest, sloppiest, greasiest, but also the most satisfyingly juicy and meaty burger anyone could ever see or taste.“Christ, that’s definitely giving me a couple hundred pounds tomorrow. Oh man, I should’ve gotten a sponge from the shop there or something” “Holy shit.” Trevor heard the speech directed in his direction, and checks behind. Three soldiers in near full armor approach him, helmets off. Their bodies and silhouettes were abrasively intimidating. Aggressive, focused, and sharp was their armor. Even their demonic helmets, of a combination gasmask, german style war helmets, and a set of eight glowing orange eyes, burned their presence through the dark void of space. Each of their shoulders rests an icon of a Spartan, yet they were all as relaxed as they were from the beach. “A factionless human. Now that’s the sight of a lifetime.” Trevor’s helmet somehow raises an eyebrow. “What, did you not see the other humans in there.”“I mean sure, but who knows where they’re from, Titan faction or not. Still, it’s quite the sight to see a human be so natural with other sapiens.”“Yeah, well take it in, because I got places to be, and time that’s flying.”“Well.” the grunt sighs, leaning over to a colleague.“Are we really doing this?” they whisper.“I mean, it is a bonus. If you want.” the other grunt. “Look, I’m not joining your stupid fuckin boy scout club, or whatever the fuck.”“We’re just saying it’s a great opportunity. Look, you get to travel the universe!”“Yeah…” Trevor looks down at his ship. “Like I can’t do that already.” “Nice V.” “Man, shut. I’m trying my best alright.”“Look, okay I admit what I said earlier was rude, but like, my parents and family spent years trying to get away from this stupid nonsense that the human campaign is, and I’m not about to fucking invalidate their entire life’s work.”His own words halt his actions and movements. He hesitates to even finish what he’s doing. “Yeah. Not after… what I’ve done.” The soldier responds. “Okay, well we’re absolutely not the Fenrir or the Seraphim-”“Oh yeah, like the wars you wager and the lands you have rampaged is all just fake news.” “Wars? What war? We haven’t had a major war in years.”“Yuh, huh, like your armor is just cosplay, or fucking show and tell or some shit” The soldier stares at the, frankly, terrifying designs of their armor before slumping their back forward with a face that says, “I get your point.” Another soldier picks up with: “I mean, it might as well be. We literally stand around all day and guard positions, while others just do chores. So yeah honestly we just look like this for looks.”Trevor squints at them in a very unamused way. “Really?”“Seriously! That’s like literally all we do, we stand around to look all tough while the others do chores.”Trevor expresses the facial equivalent of the phrase “...” He continues, “Well! You are quite fantastic at convincing me to join, so much so that I’ve take it upon myself to just.” he presses a button, that lowers and vacuum seals the glass canopy with a satisfying sizzle. The vehicle starts to hum, before it crescendoes to a powerful whine with an aggressive clicking bassy purr that rips underneath, then a high pitched snare, then a roar, then a violently raw, yet elegant, symphonic chord of an almost beastly quality, that then finishes with a howling boom that shatters the sound barrier. The soldiers glances at each other, with their bones still rattling and quivering from Trevor’s ship. One of them hisses and sighs. “That was sick though.” “Yeah it was.”
