Can we talk about packaging? I hate packaging. It feels so wasteful to spend time, money, and disposable materials to wrap something up so it looks “nicer” or more complete. But I also get that it adds to the fun and joy of giving a gift! I’ll admit that I admire great and clever packaging. I try very hard to only reuse and repurpose boxes, bubblewrap, and other packaging materials for all my work. This usually leads to a lot of time spent trying to find the right size box, right wrap, envelope, etc. If I were a little busier with my art I’m not sure how sustainable it would really be (its already hard to juggle all the moving parts!). So, as we move into the holidays and I begin to take some more serious steps into making my art a more legitimate small business, I’ll be looking for advice, suggestions, and ideas for packaging in the cutest, most sustainable, and least wasteful way possible. Help me out makers? Wrappers?
