Toilet Roll Binoculars
Another lovely five minute make suitable for little ones using loo rolls. This time we have deviated from our usual animals!
This time you will need
2 loo rolls
strips of coloured paper (we used tissue paper, but any would do) long enough to wrap around both rolls
Ribbon
Glue (we used a glue sick, but PVA would work)
Sticky tape
Skewer (or sharp scissors)
Scissors
oh, and an enthusiastic child!
How to do it -
Pinch the two rolls together, side by side and stick them together using a small pieces of sticky tape.
Wrap the paper around the two tubes in the colour combination of your choice using the glue. By wrapping the paper around both tubes you will add stability. Ensure that all of the ends meet on the same side to create a nice finish on the top.
When you have finished wrapping the tubes, turn the tube over and place one piece of paper down the length of the binoculars covering all the ends.
Using the skewer (or scissors) pierce holes on both sides of the binoculars for the ribbon.
Measure the ribbon around child's neck and cut to desired length, making use you add extra length for attaching.
Push ribbon through hole and attach with knot (We used two ribbons as we could not choose which one we like best!)
Have fun going on exciting hunts.
We have had great fun with ours, they have been on mini beast hunts, to the theatre to see the Gruffalo and on a lovely farm walk. We did however learn the hard way that they are not waterproof on a very rainy walk to meet some piglets!!! We hope you have as much fun with yours!

Loo roll butterfly
The latest animal in our loo roll zoo! The Butterfly.
Another easy make achievable in five minute make, all you need is some old rolls, scissors and a marker pen.
Draw in the butterfly design. It does not need to be super detailed, needs big clear B like wings that wrap around the tube, but do not meet in the middle.
Let your little one go mad with their pens. The more colours the better.
Carefully cut round the wings, and bend them out to create the 3D effect
Done!!!!

Loo roll Elephant
We are amassing ourselves a lovely little loo roll menagerie! Following our loo roll owl we had a go at making an elephant.
Yet again it is an easy five minute make, all you need is some old rolls, scissors and a marker pen.
Draw in the elephant design. It does not need to be super detailed. Clearly mark in the ears and trunk, and then carefully cut along them to create the 3D effect
Let your little one go mad with their pens.

Quick recycled Craft
This morning we have mostly been making toilet roll owls!!!! So easy, all you need is some old rolls and a marker pen.
Bend in the top of the roll to create the ears/head.
Use marker pen to draw out an owl design (even people with no pen skills like me can manage this)
Let your little one go mad with their pens.
Done!!!!
