Night - May Prompts (22)
John kneels up on the bed.
They’d considered a cottage on Skye, a palazzo near Montepulciano, and on a client’s recommendation, a luxury penthouse in the 4th arrondissement in Paris. For a day or two it had been Mykonos, then Auckland, then definitely Bangkok, then after a miserably rainy weekend, Puerto Vallarta. In a moment of weakness, even Mycroft’s private suite at Claridge’s was briefly on the table, though that was thankfully short-lived.
Nothing felt right. Finally, Sherlock had plopped down on the sofa next to John one afternoon and said there is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact and right then and there they’d both known at exactly the same moment what to do.
Turns out when they most want each other, where they most want to be is home.
The big day went as well as they could’ve hoped, lack of attempted murders aside, and now it’s just the two of them again, same as it ever was, in a way it’s never been before.
John touches the smooth gold ring round his finger and clinks it gently against its twin.
He had one of these a long time ago. He’ll never have another.
The ring, of course, and the wedding night.
Sherlock is languid and warm beneath him.
His husband, sweet as a burst-berry on his tongue.

Becoming Little Dove
My entire masterlist and blog are for readers 18+ MDNI. I do not consent to my work being used in AI, recommended on TikTok, borrowed or plagiarized.
Summary: Taking a ferry to the island of Mykonos leads to a discovery of the tourist variety and some of the carnal variety.
Warnings: wonderlust, following sexy strangers, implied sexual activity, thruple?, notes, expectations
Word Count: just under 800
Notes: So a spin off of the Secret Springs? Or maybe something that brought back to the Springs? This little fic is thanks to this ask from @secretelephanttattoo and maybe somewhere @frenchiereading may or may not have gone. 👀 Also I’ve been thinking about Oberyn and Ellaria a lot, so here we are.
Main Masterlist/ Oberyn Martell Masterlist / Secret Springs Masterlist/ AO3 Link
The strong breeze as you overlook the clear blue waters has you squinting to try and see any fish that might be swimming. With the ferry traveling toward Mykonos, you’re excited to visit the island and see more of the waters, architecture, put your feet in the sand, try some local food and figure out what else you can do.
Stepping off the ferry, you follow the crowd as all of you form lines to exit the ferry and descend upon the island. You’re a bit slower to do so, taking in the sights and sounds. The fresh salt air has you inhale deeply and close your eyes, just for a moment. When you open your eyes, a tall gentleman wearing a white tunic with matching white linen pants and navy blue boat shoes. The ends of his sleeves and hem of his pants have an alternating dark and powder blue to them that would look silly on anyone else. He wears it with such confidence and offers you a hand, the grin he bears is mischievous like he has many a secret he’s waiting for you to earn the tale behind. The man’s chocolate brown eyes invite with their warmth.
Greetings are exchanged and you put your hand in his. Only after following him along and between unnamed streets. Greeting various people he knows, eating foods that you aren’t sure that either of you paid for and snapping postures among the majestic alabaster white of the buildings does it dawn on you to ask the man’s name. He didn’t ask for yours either, beckoning you along through gentle caresses and pulls on your hand or arm.
The entire day was spent exploring that you hadn’t figured out which direction your accommodations were. The stranger chuckles and ruffles his shirt chestnut hair before cupping your face and bringing you to one of the many buildings built in the mountains on the island. A woman in similar white garb as him greets you both at the door. She gave a stern look for a moment but softened when she laid her eyes on you, bringing you into a tight hug. Oberyn, as she called him, received a quick peck on the lips from her. Your heart sinks for a moment as you might have thought there was a spark between the two of you. The raven-haired woman makes not of your despondent face and giggles, patting your cheek and putting her soft lips to yours.
“Now, now, no need to be disappointed on your first day here. Your journey is just beginning on the cerulean waters. My prince brought you here because he sees something within you we want to draw out. Come inside won’t you?” Ellaria Sand is the name you learn to call her later.
The sheets that the three of you lay on each night are a deep sapphire that contrasts with your collective tangled limbs for the week long bodily odyssey.
It was a curious adventure away from the Secret Springs and when you return to your resort with a magnet that spells out “Greece” it reminds you of the colors you first saw Oberyn and Ellaria in. There’s an open invitation to return as they enjoyed your company greatly.
Maybe you’ll be back on that ferry sooner than you thought to drown in their depths once more.
When you arrive back to your room, there’s a white and blue card with yellow writing, a small sun in the upper left corner and two snakes on either side of the signature on your bed:
We hope you made it back to your room safely, little dove. Ellaria and I reveled in your company and look forward to doing so again.
If you’re open to the three of us making a splendid mess of your private chambers, call the number at the bottom of the card.
The Red Viper and his Solar Guide
After taking a shower and changing into something a bit more comfortable, you dial the number and sit on the bed to inform them of your choice. Venturing out, getting something to eat and bringing back bottled water to the room in preparation and hydration is key.
In the evening, the knock at your door excites you and you’re greeted with Oberyn wearing his signature gold and Ellaria doing the same. He holds several bottles of oils and a spirit or two for later libations. Ellaria carries silk ribbons which she’ll use to bind both you and Oberyn with.
Your room will be thoroughly used and all of its surfaces claimed as the three of you explore each other once more.
Such can be the nature of the springs and the islands if you let them. Wild. Wonderful and quite wet.

are you from Greece? I can't remember who here is from Greece? I'm cruising next year with a stop at mykonos and Santorini and i'm searching for some help to find me some good beaches to stay at that are easy to reach from the port (with or without taxi)
Yes I am from Greece 😁 I need to ask around for recommendations on Mykonos and Santorini though, they are the two places that kind of have priced out locals for good so I’ve only visited each once in the off-season for a weekend 🫠 I’ll reblog in a few days max (and I invite @penny-hartzs to chime in)

Love to Experience Nightlife in Crete? Here Is What You Must Know
While you can enjoy your Santorini tour without a car due to its small size, it is the best idea to rent a car in Crete to explore it well and get the most out of your vacations in Crete. Undoubtedly, Crete is one of the most beautiful Greek islands that you must visit at least once in your lifetime. Its enchanting beauty, pristine beaches, and rich history and culture – there is so much to explore that you will make memories of a lifetime in Crete. While many tourists prefer exploring the island during the day and relaxing at night, a lot of people are night animals who wish to keep their party going on. So, to help you out, we are going to dig a bit deeper into Crete’s nightlife.
Nightlife in Crete: How It Looks Like
Crete does not have the same party atmosphere as the Cyclades; however, there are still some areas that are well-known for their nightclubs and lively ambiance. You can find great clubs and discos in these areas, as well as entertainment for Cretan nights, which often include delicious food and drink, singing, and traditional dancing.
The things you can do at night in Crete vary greatly depending on your age and preferred style of nightlife. If you're into clubbing, then Platanias in Chania or Hersonissos and Malia in Heraklion are the places to go.
Despite being a large island, discos are not very common in Crete, so if that's your preferred style of nightlife, you may want to consider visiting Mykonos, Ios, or other Cycladic islands instead.
Lounge Bars and Pubs for Tourists Looking for Relaxation & Comfort
Nightlife in Crete is typically more laid-back for young adults. Instead of loud and crowded clubs, many people prefer to meet up for drinks in lounge bars where the noise level is conducive to conversation. Check out some of the popular spots along the waterfront of Chania's Old Town and in the center of Heraklion.
If you're in Agios Nikolaos, look for bars close to the port or along the pedestrian road. In Rethymnon, there are also pubs to enjoy in the Old Town.
For many, a night out is centered around a good meal or a traditional Greek night with live Cretan music. These types of options are plentiful throughout Crete, and you can always ask around for recommendations.
Where to Explore the Best Nightlife in Crete
Chania Town is the ideal destination to discover bars and clubs. Some of them are discreetly tucked away in the charming alleys of the old town, while others offer a stunning view of the night sky and sea along the waterfront.
The Old Town of Chania is ideal for night party lovers because it has various boutique hotels and rooms to rent.
If you're looking to soak up some sun by the sea during the day, consider checking out hotels in Agia Marina and Platanias. These areas have many clubs and pubs that are open until late at night (or rather, early in the morning!).
Rethymnon, the third largest city on the island, takes the lead in terms of nightlife. It's home to a major university and has a variety of nightspots scattered throughout the beautiful town. You'll find discos, pubs, beach clubs, and music bars to suit every taste.
If you're interested in learning about local traditions, there are also plenty of taverns and restaurants offering Greek nights in Rethymnon.
Whether you are a morning person or a night animal, just make sure to place a booking to rent a car in Crete.

south park the fractured but whole
i played this game last week over the course of a few days and it has completely plagued my mind since so i just have to make a review for it.
overall 8.5/10. i would give it a 9 if a few things were different/added which i will indulge in below. but i definitely would recommend this game to anybody who watches the show. or even if you don’t watch the show. maybe you wont get every reference or understand every character but its still a fun play nonetheless and will definitely have you laughing the whole time. and this is coming from someone who has probably only seen 10 episodes of south park in their entire life.
if yall have any recommendations for games similar that you think i would like please let me know. also i never played stick of truth, i just played this because it was on gamepass but if anyone wants to slide me $30 so i can play stick of truth it would be greatly appreciated 😁
full review + spoilers below
like i said, i am not a south park super fan or aficionado or anything like that. i’ve seen a handful of episodes and i think the show is quite funny. i’d watch more of it if i could but i cancelled my hbo account so what can you do
warning you now, if you do NOT like south park and you do NOT like the humor (i don’t blame you, it’s not for everyone and i’ve met people who are avid haters of the show) then please do not continue reading. and honestly why did you even read this far? kidding. but fr though, don’t come at me for liking it (people have done that to me so i’m just trying to cover all my bases here).
now into the actual game.
before getting into the gameplay, i am so upset that i only just today realized (a week after playing) that the title can be read as ‘the fractured butthole’. HOW DID I NOT CATCH THAT 😭
also, this game is so fucking funny. south park in general is funny but something about actually immersing yourself into the little paper world just makes everything so much funnier. whether it’s the mission you have to do, the dialogue in the cut scenes, and even the dialogue during battles is funny as hell. all day every day i keep thinking of tweek saying “you go girlfriend” and wendy saying tweek, don’t do that” 😭😭
okay now to the actual gameplay.
for the record, before this i did NOT like turn based combat. like if i wanted to wait my turn i would go play with pokémon cards or something. but surprisingly, i really liked it in this game. i think its just the way that it is handled made me like it. if everything were serious and nobody was talking or whatever then it would be awkward, annoying, and boring. but because of the fact that technically everyone is just playing make believe (ig except for some parts but we will get to that later), it actually makes sense for everyone to take turns and the mechanics for it weren’t ass so i was able to get the hang of it fast and have a lot of fun with it. and like i mentioned before the combat dialogue is so funny it’s hard to have any complaints about it (even if it does repeat).
outside of combat i do like the mechanics of exploring the world and doing random side missions and stuff like finding the cats and whatnot (whoever drew that yaoi, we need to have a lil chat). i like games where the world is big enough that you can explore but also where the world is contained enough that it’s not overwhelming. games like breath of the wild, skyrim, and assassins creed piss me off. don’t get me wrong, i love all those games but the fact that the world is fucking huge is annoying. i’m playing assassins creed odyssey right now and it’s annoying as fuck to go from fucking attika to korinthia to mykonos to makedonia then back to damn attika over and over and i hate the ship mechanics. even with fast travel its annoying. so i really like exploring the south park world because its just a small town. so while there are nooks and crannies everywhere to collect materials and whatnot, its not to the point where you want to stop playing because you had to go to one end of the map for one mission and the next mission requires you to go all the way back where you came from.
now to the plot
it’s so silly. i love it.
honestly i couldn’t even tell you what it was. at the end of the day, it’s not a game where the plot is meant to be dissected and be some super serious thing. so i wont worry too much about some finer details. i will just say at times i was confused with what was going on because im thinking all these powers and shit are fake right?? so like in the police station or in the church, those fight scenes should have played out completely differently. but again, it’s not that serious so this isn’t necessarily a complaint just really an observation.
while the plot was lost on me at times (again, not super serious), it was still fun every step of the way. from fighting wine drunk randy (i love that man that’s my husband) to butters dad to many assed cats, it was all fun. and when it turned out that the big bad villain was cartman all along (who is shocked…) i definitely laughed. i don’t remember what the hands name was but ykw, he was cool.
also just want to mention ik that we as the new kid don’t talk but i got pissed as hell at the part in the lab where i had to sacrifice one of my parents and then i come back and everyone is like “oh what took you so long?” “oh gee thanks new kid you started all this” “you took us too far to the future” blah blah blah ONE OF MY PARENTS JUST DIED??? like i really wish we could have stood up for ourselves and said that bc omg i needed them to be humbled so bad but anyway
one thing that did annoy me a bit as you progressed was the fact that it felt like at times you couldn’t take a single step without a raisin girl or a ninja or a 6th grader or a minion or a fucking crab wanting to fight you. i get it’s to keep things interesting so you’re not just wandering doing nothing and it can give you opportunities to level up and whatnot, but there were times when i was just trying to do a mission or something and get from point a to point b and now i have to juke out all these people who keep trying to fight me. so if i could change that maybe just make them appear slightly less frequently if that’s possible. but again this was only really a problem towards the end once you’ve already fought all these people at least once.
also i like the whole superhero ordeal. its funny seeing how much they all get into it. but its also cute bc i mean these are kids at the end of the day like aw my sons.
now the characters
i’ll try not to make this too lengthy since for one there’s a lot of characters and for two i’m sure you all already know all of these characters. so i’ll mainly focus only on those that were prevalent/playable in the story, so the kids who were superheroes pretty much. and i will touch on how i liked their character in terms of combat.
cartman is cartman. a natural born instigator. the whole “your dad fucked your mom” thing made me laugh every time he brought it up. again, his hand was cool. as for combat, the coon was definitely a favorite and i used him a lot before he was locked later in the story. also his combat dialogue is funny so i liked having him there. won’t get into the logistics of every move but overall definitely a good character for combat
we didn’t see much of stan in the beginning part of the game due to the opposing franchise thing. honestly, i don’t have an opinion of him really. in the game or show. i’m sure it’s just me but he definitely flies under the radar imo even though he’s a main character. still love him though. i do not like toolshed though. he has like one decent move but if you can’t get enemies positioned perfectly then i swear he’s just useless as fuck i’m sorry
kyle is definitely one of my favorites, probably more so in the show than the game. i say this because i do not like human kite. its cute when he does his laser and says “pew pew” but other than that it is just a waste of a character slot unless you need a healer.
one thing i like about kenny is that he’s an actual superhero just pretending to play pretend. and it’s always funny when him and tolkien are fighting together and tolkien says “damn mysterion, it’s like you trained for this shit or something” 😭 speaking of, i love mysterion. definitely a must have character for combat. and just cool overall. little ass kicking fourth grader iktr
oh god why are there so many characters let me try to speed this up
and speaking of speed we have kingie jimmy valmer. another favorite of mine. and i love fastpass. not a character i used often but when i did use him i found that he was actually pretty useful and funny as well
tolkien. i hate to say this about a brotha but good god i cannot stand tupperware. it’s like they picked their superheroes out of a hat and he got the last and lamest one. it’s also gross when he throws up and it fills the container on his head omfg ew. unless i had to use him i did not like to use him in combat. but as a character i do like him he’s nerdy and adorable.
tweek. a favorite of mine as well. i always used wonder tweek once i unlocked him. useful and also i just love tweek can you blame me. once i did the counseling thing i just bust out laughing whenever the yaoi anime thing would show up. “who wants to see some beautiful boys ultimate action” love you tweek but NOBODY😭
craig. another favorite. i’m a creek truther what can i say. definitely one of the funniest in terms of combat dialogue and also whenever he says ‘super craig’ so enthusiastically and goes right back to his regular monotone voice it kills me.
wendy. omg i love her that’s really bestie. especially because i made my character a girl so i really felt us vibing fr. my lineup was pretty much always call girl, wonder tweek, and mysterion but sometimes super craig and captain diabetes would be switched in there as well.
scott. now we ain’t gonna talk about the diabetic rage thing we just not 😭 but omg he’s such a sweetie. it was funny when he just straight up passed out, i was sitting there for a minute so lost. like i said he is a character that i used a lot, i love his special power where he eats the candy and becomes a little hulk, so cute
timmy is annoying bc who tf said you could just be that op
and last but not least butters. we stan butters here. i didn’t like using professor chaos much in combat but i do really like butters and i liked his dialogue in combat.
OKAY i’m sorry that that section was so long i forgot just how many playable characters there were and im honestly probably missing one or two.
last thing i will touch on is a couple things i think would have been interesting if they were added.
from what i’m aware, the gameplay is a bit different depending on the race and gender you choose. i chose to be a black girl and i thought it was funny how every time i said something my parents would act like its some big secret. like look at us we are very much black people 😭
and telling mr mackey that i am a girl was so funny, “oh we were all under the impression that…let me call your parents” “your son just told me he’s a girl. oh you knew that.” like what😭
on that note, i think it would have been interesting if somehow all the other kids found out about me being a girl. this wouldn’t impact the game much especially if it happens at the very end but i think it would have been funny to just see how everyone would have reacted to it. especially when they made comments here and there like “the new kid has the best secret identity, you can’t tell if he’s a boy or a girl” “you know new kid, there’s nothing wrong with being a feminine boy” “i thought feminine guys were only in the 80s but you are rocking it new kid”
with those comments i was under the guise that somehow they would find out and it could have just created a funny little moment to tie everything together.
but i did laugh when my parents revealed that my real power was just being an insta baddie 😭
which also let me say i don’t find fart jokes funny at all i think they’re very juvenile but honestly the whole ‘amazing butthole’ thing got some laughs out of me so i can’t complain on that.
also for the record the fight where we fight our past self is my favorite boss fight in the whole game.
okay this is much longer than i anticipated so if you read all the way down to here you’re a real one, have a treat 🍭
i hope at least someone likes these long media reviews because i like writing them and would like to write more or maybe even put them in short video form for tiktok or something (not any time soon).
love you all stay safe drink water and stan spontaneous bootay for clear skin

1. Choose the Right Location
The location you select for your first date can set the tone for the entire experience. Greece offers diverse, picturesque settings, from the charming cobblestone streets of historic cities to the breathtaking vistas of the Greek islands.
Mainland Greece
Athens: The capital city of Greece is a vibrant hub that seamlessly blends ancient history with modern sophistication. Consider taking your date on a stroll through the Plaka neighborhood to explore quaint shops, cafes, and neoclassical architecture. Alternatively, you could visit the Acropolis and marvel at the iconic Parthenon, followed by a romantic dinner with a panoramic view of the city.
Thessaloniki: Often referred to as the "co-capital" of Greece, Thessaloniki is a cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural heritage. Stroll hand-in-hand along the picturesque Aristotelous Square, or enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the Thermaic Gulf.
Greek Islands
Santorini: The iconic white-washed buildings, stunning sunsets, and dramatic cliffs of Santorini make it a top destination for couples. Consider a sunset cruise, a candlelit dinner in Oia, or a hike along the caldera for breathtaking views.
Mykonos: Known for its vibrant nightlife and chic beach clubs, Mykonos also offers plenty of romantic spots. Explore the charming streets of Chora, enjoy a sunset cocktail at a seaside bar, or indulge in a private picnic on a secluded beach.
Crete: The largest of the Greek islands, Crete boasts a diverse landscape, from rugged mountains to pristine beaches. Stroll through the historic Old Town of Chania, visit the ancient Minoan palace of Knossos, or enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the Venetian harbor.
2. Plan a Unique and Memorable Activity
To make your first date in Greece unforgettable, consider planning a unique and memorable activity reflecting your shared interests and the local culture.
Outdoor Adventures
Greece's stunning natural beauty lends itself well to outdoor activities. Explore the hiking trails of the Peloponnese peninsula, go kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding in the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Islands, or embark on a scenic bike ride through the countryside.
Cultural Experiences
Immerse yourselves in the rich cultural heritage of Greece by attending a traditional Greek music or dance performance, visiting a local winery for a tasting, or taking a cooking class to learn the secrets of authentic Greek cuisine.
Romantic Excursions
For a truly romantic experience, consider a private boat tour, a sunset cruise, or a picnic in a secluded spot with breathtaking views. You could also arrange a private horse-drawn carriage ride through the streets of a historic town or a candlelit dinner in a picturesque setting.
3. Dress to Impress
While the dress code in Greece is generally more casual and relaxed compared to some other European countries, it's still important to put some thought into your attire for your first date.
A collared shirt, slacks, and dress shoes are a safe bet for men. Women can opt for a sundress, skirt, or nice blouse and pants, depending on the formality of the occasion.
Avoid overly casual or sloppy attire, which can be seen as disrespectful or lacking effort. Remember, how you present yourself can set the tone for the date and make a lasting impression.
4. Embrace Greek Customs and Etiquette
Understanding and respecting Greek customs and etiquette can go a long way in making a positive impression on your date and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Greetings
A firm handshake or a light kiss on the cheek (for women) is appropriate when greeting your date. Avoid excessive physical contact, as this may be seen as too forward.
Conversation
Greeks are generally warm and friendly but value personal space and privacy. Avoid overly personal or intrusive questions and instead focus on topics like travel, food, or shared interests.
Dining Etiquette
When dining, waiting for the host or hostess to begin eating before you start is customary. Additionally, it's considered polite to leave a small amount of food on your plate, as this signifies that you've had enough.
Tipping
Tipping is less prevalent in Greece than in some other countries, but it's generally expected to leave a small gratuity (around 10-15%) for good service.
5. Be Attentive and Engage in Meaningful Conversation
Successful first dates often hinge on the ability to engage in meaningful and enjoyable conversation. In Greece, where hospitality and interpersonal connections are highly valued, an attentive and engaged listener can make all the difference.
Ask Thoughtful Questions
Show genuine interest in your date by asking about their interests, hobbies, and experiences. This demonstrates your curiosity and helps you learn more about them and find common ground.
Share Your Passions
Feel free to share your passions and interests, as this can help your date get to know you better and find shared connections.
Avoid Controversial Topics
While lively discussions can be enjoyable, avoiding controversial or sensitive topics is best, especially on a first date. Focus on building a positive and comfortable rapport.

How to Plan Your Dream Island Hopping Adventure in Greece for 2024
Discover Your Dream Greek Island Hopping Adventure for 2024
Embarking on a journey through the enchanting Greek islands is a dream many travelers hold dear. Picture yourself basking in the sun, exploring pristine beaches, and wandering through quaint villages with their unique charm. Planning such an adventure might seem daunting, but with the right steps, you can craft an unforgettable experience. Let's explore how to plan your dream island-hopping adventure in Greece for 2024!
Why Island Hopping in Greece?
Greece is home to over 6,000 islands, each offering its slice of paradise. From the breathtaking sunsets of Santorini to the lively nightlife of Mykonos, there’s something for everyone. Island hopping allows you to immerse yourself in the diverse beauty, culture, and history of Greece in one trip.
Best Time to Visit
The ideal time for island hopping in Greece is between late April and early October. This period promises warm weather and inviting seas. While July and August are peak tourist months, opting for May, June, or September can provide a more peaceful experience with fewer crowds.
Selecting Your Islands
Choosing which islands to visit is a thrilling part of your planning. Here are some top recommendations:
Santorini: Renowned for its stunning sunsets, caldera views, and unique beaches.
Mykonos: Mykonos is a lively island famed for its electrifying nightlife, where you can dance until dawn at beach clubs and elegant bars. The island also boasts stunning sandy beaches perfect for sunbathing and water sports. In addition, its charming old town, with its white-washed buildings and narrow cobblestone streets, offers a delightful setting for strolls and shopping excursions.
Crete: Offers rich history, diverse landscapes, and delectable cuisine.
Naxos: Blends beautiful beaches with traditional Greek culture.
Paros: Known for its quaint villages, pristine beaches, and water sports.
Planning Your Route
To maximize your adventure, plan your route thoughtfully. Consider the proximity of islands to minimize travel time. Here’s a suggested itinerary:
Start in Athens: Explore historical sites and experience the bustling city life.
Head to Mykonos: Enjoy the lively atmosphere and stunning beaches.
Travel to Naxos: Experience traditional Greek life and beautiful landscapes.
Move to Paros: Relax in charming villages and on pristine beaches.
End in Santorini: Conclude your journey with breathtaking sunsets and unique volcanic features.
Transportation Options
Navigating the Greek islands is relatively straightforward. Here are some options:
Ferries: The most popular and scenic way to travel between islands. Several reputable ferry companies, such as Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways, provide frequent and reliable services between the Greek islands. These ferries are well-equipped with modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable and scenic journey across the Aegean Sea. Whether you're travelling during the day or opting for an overnight trip, these services facilitate easy and enjoyable island hopping.
Flights: For longer distances, consider domestic flights. Airlines such as Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air operate flights between major islands.
Boats: Renting a boat can offer a flexible and fun way to explore smaller islands and hidden coves.
Accommodation Tips
Greece offers a wide range of accommodations to suit different budgets. Here are some tips:
Book Early: Secure the best deals and availability, especially during peak season.
Local Guesthouses: For an authentic experience.
Stay Near the Port: For convenience, particularly if you have early ferry departures.
Packing Essentials
Packing wisely can enhance your island-hopping experience. Here are some must-haves:
Lightweight Clothing: Opt for breathable fabrics like cotton and linen.
Swimwear: Essential for frequent beach visits.
Comfortable Shoes: For exploring cobblestone streets and hiking trails.
Sunscreen and Hat: It's crucial to protect yourself from the intense Mediterranean sun while exploring the Greek islands. Always apply a high-SPF sunscreen to shield your skin from harmful UV rays, and wear a wide-brimmed hat to provide additional protection and keep cool. This not only helps prevent sunburn but also ensures you can enjoy your outdoor adventures comfortably and safely.
Travel-sized Toiletries: Save space in your luggage.
Insider Tips
To make your trip even more enjoyable, keep these insider tips in mind:
Local Cuisine: Sample traditional dishes like moussaka, souvlaki, and fresh seafood.
Cultural Etiquette: Greeks are known for their hospitality. Learning a few basic Greek phrases can go a long way.
Stay Flexible: Ferry schedules can be affected by weather conditions. Keeping your itinerary flexible can help accommodate any changes.
Conclusion
Planning your dream island-hopping adventure in Greece for 2024 can be both exciting and rewarding. By choosing the right travel time, selecting the best islands, and planning your route and accommodations thoughtfully, you can ensure a memorable trip. Embrace the local culture, savour the delicious cuisine, and soak in the stunning landscapes. Greece is ready to offer you an unforgettable adventure.

Being in high class Mykonos, my first move was to try the highest regarded restaurant going, and I found that in Phoebus, which was only steps from where I’m staying in the Old Town. After getting some 6 euro water and the recommended Greek Wine, I ordered a charcoal-smoked eggplant cream with hazelnut and chilli-flakes, homemade sourdough bread and a dry-aged fish carpaccio served in three stages. The cream was surprisingly solid, and the bread thick, which was good since the fish were literally 6 tiny slices of meat. But, I tried each with the recommended olive oils: a bitter from Crete and spicy from Sparta, dripped through eye-droppers. I respected the process, and the fish was really good, each a completely different texture and flavor. The final spicy version was the best, yet I actually preferred the Cretan bitter olive oil to the spicy Sparta. All in all, I enjoyed the meal and was shocked I was not hungry til the afternoon the next day. It still only cost me less than 60 US dollars. I explored the town and discovered far cheaper options with still good quality, and had Napoli pizza, salad, a huge crepe filled with Nutella, mascarpone and oreos, green bean stew, a sea bass fillet and vegan ice cream, among others. Not a bad fill-up for a few days in expensive Mykonos. #foodie #foodlover #foodblogger #foodphotography #food

The Ultimate Guide to Renting a Mykonos Villa: Everything You Need to Know
Nestled in the embrace of the cerulean Aegean Sea, Mykonos, Greece, is a gem that beckons travellers with its irresistible charm, sun-drenched beaches, and captivating culture. For those seeking the epitome of luxury and privacy, renting a villa in Mykonos is the key to unlocking an unforgettable Aegean escape. This comprehensive guide serves as your compass through the maze of options, providing insights, tips, and everything you need to know to curate the perfect villa experience on this enchanting island.
Understanding Mykonos' Regions: Before delving into the world of villa rentals, it's essential to acquaint yourself with Mykonos' diverse regions. Each area on the island possesses its own unique character, from the bustling energy of Mykonos Town to the tranquil retreats along the less-explored shores. Consider your preferences, whether it's the lively nightlife, secluded beaches, or panoramic views, as the region you choose will shape the backdrop of your entire Mykonos experience.
Identifying Your Travel Style: Mykonos caters to an array of travel styles, and the villa you choose should align seamlessly with your preferences. Are you an avid beachgoer, yearning for direct access to the Aegean? Perhaps you're enchanted by the cultural richness near Mykonos Town? Defining your travel style is the foundation for narrowing down the multitude of villa options available.
Establishing a Budget Framework: While Mykonos is synonymous with luxury, it doesn't mean that villa rentals are exclusively reserved for the elite. Establishing a clear budgetary framework is vital to streamline your search. Fortunately, the island offers a spectrum of villas, from opulent beachfront estates to more modest yet charming accommodations, ensuring there's an option for every budget.
Villa Amenities: A Closer Look: As you peruse the myriad of Mykonos villas, pay meticulous attention to the amenities each property offers. Whether you're yearning for a private pool with panoramic sea views, a fully-equipped kitchen, or concierge services that elevate your stay, the right amenities can transform your villa experience from lavish to extraordinary. Consider your priorities and choose a villa that aligns with your vision of the perfect retreat.
Privacy and Seclusion: Mykonos, despite its popularity, harbors pockets of tranquility and seclusion. If privacy is paramount, explore villas situated in less frequented areas or those with lush surroundings providing a shield from prying eyes. Balancing proximity to attractions with a peaceful retreat can create a harmonious vacation experience.
Booking Platforms and Reviews: In the digital age, booking platforms are invaluable for exploring Mykonos villa options. Websites like Blue Collection not only offer a curated selection of villas but also provide insights into offbeat experiences and local recommendations. User reviews on various platforms can offer genuine insights into the guest experience, aiding in your decision-making process.
The Importance of Concierge Services: Consider the value-added services offered by villa providers. Many, like Blue Collection, extend premium concierge services that go beyond the accommodation itself. Private chefs, yacht charters, and 24/7 concierge assistance can transform your Mykonos experience from ordinary to extraordinary, adding layers of luxury to your stay.

A long romantic weekend in Mykonos. I just came back from 4 nights in one of the most famous island in Greece: Mykonos. Such a big reputation in such a small piece of land. To go from one side of the island to the other, it will take you 15-20 minutes of driving maximum. Our objectives of this trip was romantic, rest and chill at the beach. We thought that mid October was the perfect time to do so, enjoying the last days of sun before the winter break (almost all the hotels and restaurants close end of October) with only a few tourists left.
To avoid the potential party people, we decided to stay on the north west of the island, right above the new port in an area called Agios Stefano's. We stayed in a magnificent, very charming and typical family hotel. The hotel is right at the edge of a cliff oversighting the beach and the sea. Spectacular view of the surroundings. Flaskos Studios got everything to make a stay the perfect romantic spot: comfortable and well decorated rooms with A/C, tasteful restaurant with local dishes, special mention to the magnificent breakfast that will leave you very fulfilled, a charming swimming pool with spectacular view and a resting area to chill under the sun😎☀️
Check it out➡️https://www.flaskosmykonos.com/
My best tips/recommandations ✔️
- rent a car at the hotel to visit the island > more or less 45€/day. Very practical to move around easily (and personally I think it is way safer & pleasant than a scoot), favor the smallest one as the roads are very narrow and same goes for the parking spots around the island.
- if you do not drive, there is a reliable local bus network around the main spots of the island. Less than 2€ per travel, so very affordable. If you stay at Flaskos Studios, there is a bus station at the bottom of the hill (5 minutes walking) in front of the beach. The buses come every hour of the day. Final destination is the Old Port of Mykonos city where you can visit the city and the famous windmills. From there, you can connect with other local buses which goes around the island.
- my best beaches (by order of preference)> Paralia Agios Stefanos, Kalafati, Paralia Agrari, Agios Sostis. Those beaches are all available for free to lay your beach towel and enjoy the sun peacefully with no mass crowd. I would need to precise that those recommendations may vary depending if you go on high season or not.
- my best restaurants> you have to look for the local "taverns" to find the best spots to eat. I would definitely recommend:
1. Limnios tavern > for lunch or dinner > familial, fresh and local, best address for sure, spectacular view for sunset - http://limniostavern.com/en/
2. Kiki's Tavern > for lunch or late lunch (kitchen closes at 5 pm) > very charming and hidden spot, you can take a swim in the private beach while you wait for your table, very fresh and local food - https://m.facebook.com/pages/Kikis/106400416113933
3. Nosostros Mykonos > for lunch, dinner or just drinks> less traditional but very charming, right in front of the beach, great sunset, special mention for their local dessert (puff in honey) - https://nosotrosmykonos.business.site/?m=true
4. And finally if you want to eat on the go with a typical Gyros, I would recommend Saki's Grill House > https://www.sakisgrill.com/. Delicious, fresh, quick and cheap👌
As a conclusion, I definitely recommend to visit Mykonos late in the season (mid September to mid October) or early (mid April to end of May), you will have the island for yourself, no need to book in advance for restaurants or other, very cool weather and nice swim, food is delicious and you will be really chill and relax.👯♀️🤗
