Sometimes I can really tell that some people don't actually know why certain ace/aro hcs are bad
#rat rambles#rat rants#well I mean most people just dont realise theyre bad in the first place but#during my time in fandom spaces Ive always seen a few writers whod have some ace or aro hc on their blacklist for being aphobic/ableist#and Ive seen a lil bit of that in the dr fandom too but... I dont think that a lot of them get the issue?#like Ive seen several people have ace taka on their blacklist for being ableist#and like.... ok first of all ace aro autistic people do exist but if you dont think you could write them well the whatever I guess#and second of all..... the fact that theres not like. a shit ton of other popular ace hcs on that list tells me you dont know how to#recognise the actual issues beond just 'hcing autistic characters as ace is bad'#Im mainly talking abt ace hcs since I havent seen anyone here talk abt how shitty the most common aro hcs are#but yeah its funny how people will say 'ace taka hcs bad' and the proceed to write like. ace gonta or something.#Im trying not to be specific since I dont want people to think Im vaguing anyone in particular djfndndh#like. Ive said it before and Ill say it again#I rly do think its possible to have acearo hcs for these characters and do it well#I want to believe there are people out tjere who are doing it well#but even the people who seemingly recognise the issues with one will still fail to understand what makes them bad#and proceed to write an ace hc or character with the exact same fucking issues#ace people arent stupid. aro people arent evil. ace people dont not know what sex is. aro people arent chosing to not care abt romance.#and god fucking damnit if your going to have a robot character be ace or aro dont make them being a robot the reason#stop treating ace people like babies. stop treating aro people like theyre inhuman.#at this point I dont trust allo people with making ace or aro hcs#like everytime I see some sexuality hc post and I see the first shit choice I try to be like 'well ok maybe they have other better ones'#because like. if you can show me that youre willing to actually think abt your ace and aro hcs Im willing to give you a chance#even with the ones that arent usually done well#I just wanna see more good ace and aro hcs#also Im not gonna go onto a whole rant abt this but I dont rly like looking for takemichi content anymore#not because people hc him as gay but because a lot of takemichi fans are weirdly agressive abt ppl hcing him as aro?#like. few will actively bash on it but they still seem to consider it the wrong answer I guess?#idk. sorry for ranting abt this shit so much dhfhdjg
