#putting this in the tags because my notifications are already nonsense enough#and I'm not interested in directing harassment anyone's way#and so#my good dudes#please learn how to read#I've been accused of 'piss poor reading comprehension' multiple times because I quoted the article saying 'outage'#and then described the attitude of the article toward the library closures as 'outrage'#and apparently the only reason I could come to this conclusion is by misreading 'outage' as 'outrage'#which.#just.#please learn how to read more than the literal meaning of words#reading the literal words is good 101 reading comprehension#please strive to reach 102#and some 'oh i did a a pd clinic in law school and then was advised not to pursue it b/c i'm just *so virtuous* and *so moral* asshole'#who is responding to my post about the IA's justification post insisting that I'm apparently insisting that law = morality#and#which#just#please#dear god#learn to read#but also#it's kind of fascinating#how the criticism of the IA's actions that people are responding to#(aside from saying I'm misreading their outrage toward library closures)#is primarily the idea that their 'emergency library' stole from authors & that such stealing was wrong#and in particular#nothing at all about how IA recklessly completely destroyed themselves by so obviously violating the law#(literally - it's all just been 'but the law was bad')#(and I guess if they see someone saying 'this is a stupid way to challenge the law' they can only read that as meaning 'this law is good'??

probably overthinking it and this is entirely specific to my personal game experience as opposed to a real programmed thing but hugh’s battle style seems slightly different. at the start of the game he was talking a big game about how much he loves and wants to protect his partner pokémon. now he had a chance to swap out that pokémon of his who was poisoned and on red health, but instead opted to get one last attack in and knock out his foe before letting his own pokémon faint. revenge over protection… interesting

For my friends in academia, do you ever have a moment where you're explaining your area of interest to someone and have this moment of "Oh fuck, I sound super smart??? And I'm not faking it?????"
#i was talking about Moby Dick to some of the other people in the honors program#and i was explaining how its hung on so long in part because its got so many layers to analyze#and because throughout history its remained easy to recognize and relate to a story about a recklessly determined leader#and they were just staring at me looking a bit awed#and I was like!!!! oh!!!!!! oh im smart!!!!!!!#the funniest example of this though is one night I got REALLY high (and a little drunk)#and we were hanging out in my dorm and i somehow got on the subject of gothic lit#which im obsessed with#i shit you not I've read every book on gothic lit in the school library#anyways it came up somehow#and i ranted for twenty minutes straight without stopping about the female gothic genre#Add/maybe autism?/and the aid of weed to knock out my social anxiety all worked together#i only half remember my rant#but the two sober ones told me i was entirely coherent#my post

Thinking here about the theory that Gold were originally from the future of Blaze's dimension...
That would be soooo sad and tragic: She didn't only spent over a decade out of her birth dimension, she spent ⅔ of her life out of her "home" dimension, she was raised in this other dimension so that's the place she can call home, no hope of ever return to her original world because in the last time she saw her original world, it was being frozen at time, being petrified in an expression of terror for eternity, entirely by a huge and powerful monster.
Onyx City is, with all its defects, the home she knows that is not destroyed and beyond salvation. The place where she built lasting and solid memories, the world she adapted to live in, the home that there's a hero to protect...
At this point, she has no reason to look for a way to fix her original world, and even if it was possible, she has no reason to go back...
Meanwhile someday the Genesis Portal take the Team Psych to Blaze's world... And so? That world is nothing like the few she remembers, she wouldn't recognize... She would never be able to learn that this beautiful world full of life she's standing in for this moment will be, in a couple of centuries foward, the stage of the apocalypse that she witnessed around 10 years ago... She will NEVER know...
"Wow Silver, this friend of yours lives in a pretty nice kingdom around here." THIS KINGDOM WILL BE EITHER FROZEN IN A EXPRESSION OF TERROR OR DEVOURED FROM THE TIMELINE IN ABOUT 2 CENTURIES!!! But you'll never know...
Unless some Blaze's descendant around in the future is able to harness the power of the Sol Emeralds, so is able to fight back the Second Devourer... What means that the time passed there as well and everyone she knew learned to live without her...
Anyway, in either scenarios an adaptation would be hard and could be seem as "pointless": In a hand, if they couldn't fight back at first and the world just could be restored now, the time has not passed to them, Gold changed a LOT and is basically a stranger to these people that she remembers near to nothing about; In other hand, in case they could fight back and defeat the beast, this whole world might have changed too much from the few she could recall, nobody and nothing is the same as she can remind even if it's vaguely...
In both hands, she has already adapted to call Onyx City "home", the people she knows and learned to trust live in there...
#idk what's my point at first i though 'wow this would be simultaneously as tragic as funny' and as wrote down I realized it's only tragic...#all the funny part was supported only by the thought 'imagine if somehow they learn that would be quite awkward to tell Blaze haha'-#-WHAT WAS ME THINKING?!!?#that's only more angsty! imagine you learn that the world you protect with your life will inevitably destroyed soon...#nobody will be there to protect it... everyone will be terrified until the last second...#also considering Gold as Silver's equivalent as Blaze is Sonic's equivalent... so Gold wad supposed to be the time traveler of that dimensio#but then she was attacked before she could be properly ready and so this portal just sucked her out erasing the lil chances that world-#-still had... actually the whole time devourer thing condemned that world... that anomaly was the only thing the time traveler couldn't-#-survive to or fight against... at least not by the time... maybe a trained Gold could control the beast's mind and send it away...#okay now we finished#Gold the tenrec#blaze the cat#sol dimension#thank you for your time#and for read my rambling#only tragedy... geez...#now i'm imagining how Gold would deal with the things she would have to change in the past if she assumed the time traveler role...#for sure she would count more on get cooperation than try to tackle it recklessly like somebody#the cooperation would have to be from Blaze (I swear it's not my Goldaze side speaking) unless you're considering some Shadow counterpart-#-in the play... what would mean some dadow equivalent?!?!
