RECALLINGMAN LEFT GLITCH IM GOING TO END IT
coughs………. anyways!! i wrote a fic to cope :D soulsplitter arc my beloved <3

The cave was damp. Shadows clung to the jagged walls, and water dripped rhythmically from unseen cracks above. RecallingMan paced in tight circles, his boots scuffing against loose gravel. His breathing came in shallow, uneven bursts, and his hands trembled, fists clenching and unclenching at his sides. He hadn’t slept in days—maybe longer. His head buzzed with a relentless static, and every step felt like dragging himself through quicksand.
“It’s gonna happen,” he muttered under his breath. “It’s just a matter of time.”
A quiet shuffling behind him broke his trance. He stopped mid-step, his head snapping toward the sound. Dimofyy stood at the mouth of the cavern, his silhouette backlit by the faint glow of an underground lava flow.
“Recall?” Dimofyy’s voice was tentative. “What’s going on? You’ve been… gone. For days.”
RecallingMan turned sharply, his glare cutting through the dim light. “What do you want?”
Dimofyy flinched but held his ground. “I came to check on you. You look—” His gaze traveled over him: the dark circles under his eyes, the way his shoulders hunched as if bearing an invisible weight. “—awful.”
A bitter laugh escaped RecallingMan. “Great observation. Thanks for that.”
Dimofyy hesitated, stepping further into the cave. “Seriously. What’s wrong? Maybe I can help.”
“Help?” RecallingMan spat the word, his voice dripping with venom. “You can’t help. No one can. Not with this.”
Dimofyy frowned, his brows knitting together. “With what? What’s going on with you?”
RecallingMan resumed pacing, each step more frantic than the last. His voice dropped to a mutter, as if he was talking more to himself than to Dimofyy. “It’s going to betray me. It’s only a matter of time. I’d do the same, wouldn’t I? Use, discard, repeat. Tools don’t have loyalty.”
Dimofyy blinked, confusion etched into his face. “Who are you talking about?”
“Nufuli,” RecallingMan snapped, the name laced with contempt. “That… thing. That tool. I’ve been pushing it, guiding it, and it’s been doing what I need. But I know—oh, I know—it’s just biding its time. The second I stop being useful, it’ll turn on me.”
Dimofyy tilted his head, trying to process his words. “But… Nufuli’s on your side. He’s been—”
“It,” RecallingMan interrupted harshly. “It’s not a person. It’s a tool. A means to an end. And tools break. Or worse, tools learn to bite the hand that wields them.”
Dimofyy’s expression softened. “You’re scared.”
“Of course I’m scared!” RecallingMan’s voice cracked, frustration spilling over. “I’ve been running this game, pulling all the strings, and now one of those strings is going to strangle me. You think I don’t see it? You think I don’t know how this ends?”
Dimofyy stepped closer, his tone gentle. “It doesn’t have to end like that. You don’t have to do this alone. If you just—”
“No.” RecallingMan’s voice turned cold, his eyes narrowing. “I don’t need your pity. I don’t need your comfort. And I sure as heck don’t need you.”
Dimofyy flinched again but didn’t back away. “Recall, you’re burning yourself out. Whatever this is, it’s eating you alive. Just—”
“I said leave.” His tone was final, cutting through the air like a blade.
Dimofyy lingered for a moment, his mouth opening as if to argue. But he saw the tension in his jaw, the desperation in his eyes. With a heavy sigh, he turned and walked out of the cave, his footsteps echoing into the distance.
Once he was gone, RecallingMan sank to his knees. His head fell into his hands, and for the first time in days, he stopped moving. But the stillness didn’t bring peace—only the suffocating weight of his fears. He sat there, alone in the darkness, waiting for the inevitable.

The sun dipped low over the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and red. RecallingMan stood at the edge of the cliff, his violet eyes fixed on the sprawling world below. Dimofyy lingered a few paces behind, silent and tense, his usual grin replaced by a tight frown.
“So, this is it?” Dimofyy asked, his voice quiet but laced with bitterness.
RecallingMan turned slightly, his lips quirking into a wry smile. “Don’t look so pathetic. You’ll ruin my reputation.”
Dimofyy glared at him, crossing his arms. “You’re the one leaving. What am I supposed to do? Throw a party?”
A low chuckle escaped RecallingMan’s throat, uncharacteristically soft. He reached into his inventory and pulled out a gleaming netherite sword, its edge shimmering faintly. Wordlessly, he extended it toward Dimofyy.
“What’s this for?” Dimofyy’s voice faltered as he took the sword, his fingers brushing against the cool metal.
“A souvenir,” RecallingMan said. “Or a bribe. Call it whatever you want.” He paused, taking off his armor piece by piece—his chestplate, leggings, boots, and finally his helmet. Each item was carefully handed over until Dimofyy was holding a small arsenal.
“You’re giving me everything?” Dimofyy asked, his eyes widening.
“Don’t make it weird,” RecallingMan muttered, looking away. “You’re the only person I trust not to mess this up. Besides, it’s not like I’ll need it where I’m going.”
Dimofyy’s throat tightened. “Where are you going?”
“That’s… complicated,” RecallingMan said. “Someplace you can’t follow. Not as you are, anyway.”
The silence that followed was heavy, broken only by the soft rustle of the wind. Finally, RecallingMan turned to fully face Dimofyy, his expression uncharacteristically serious.
“I’m giving you a choice,” he said, his voice quieter now. “I can make you into a Watcher. Like me.”
Dimofyy’s eyes widened, his grip tightening on the sword. “A Watcher?”
“It’s not a gift. It’s a burden,” RecallingMan said sharply. “It’s painful. It twists you into something unrecognizable. But it also means you can tear this world apart. You can leave it in ruins when I’m gone, just like we always wanted to.”
Dimofyy stared at him, his heart hammering in his chest. “And if I say no?”
RecallingMan shrugged, but his gaze softened. “Then you stay here, as you are. It’s your choice, Dimo. Always has been.”
Dimofyy swallowed hard, his gaze flicking to the netherite sword in his hand, then back to RecallingMan. “If I… if I do this, will I ever see you again?”
The faintest crack showed in RecallingMan’s steely demeanor. “Probably not,” he admitted. “But you’ll be strong enough to stand on your own. You’ll be fine.”
Dimofyy hesitated, then gave a shaky nod. “Okay. Do it.”
RecallingMan sighed, a mix of pride and sorrow flashing in his eyes. “You’re braver than you look, you know that?”
“Don’t push it,” Dimofyy muttered, his voice trembling.
The transformation was quick but agonizing. RecallingMan’s hands glowed with a blinding light as he placed them on Dimofyy’s shoulders. Pain surged through Dimofyy like molten fire, forcing a strangled cry from his throat. His vision blurred, his body trembling, and for a moment, it felt like he was being torn apart.
When it was over, Dimofyy collapsed to his knees, panting. His vision had sharpened, his senses heightened. He could feel the world in a way he never had before. RecallingMan knelt beside him, one hand resting on his shoulder.
“You did good, Dimo,” he said softly. “Better than I expected.”
Dimofyy tried to speak but could only nod. RecallingMan stood, taking a step back.
“Before I go,” RecallingMan said, his voice steady, “I need you to know something.”
Dimofyy looked up, his eyes gleaming faintly with Watcher energy. “What?”
RecallingMan’s expression softened, the edge in his voice fading completely. “You were like a brother to me, Dimo. You still are. Don’t forget that.”
Dimofyy opened his mouth to reply, but before he could, RecallingMan vanished, leaving nothing but a faint shimmer in the air. Dimofyy stared at the empty space, clutching the sword tightly.
“Goodbye,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I’ll make you proud.”
