hello scooby tumblr!! i am running an interest check for this charm design through the link above. if i can hopefully gather enough interest, i will open a preorder form for these sometime in the future!!

how far into the future depends on how big the response is to this post (and other posts i will put across all my socials). if i get enough interest to fund production i can launch the preorder almost immediately after christmas :) so if you want this charm to make it to production, please consider sharing this around or showing your friends who are also into scooby!!

Summary:

Most first think that this anime is an idol show. I promise you, it is NOT. Quite far from it. Vivy is regrettably underrated despite having great animation—just watch the fight scenes. It has the best of songs that will get stuck in your head for a long time. Character growth for characters - you will adore them. It even won some recognition from anime awards, yet no one talks about it. You have to watch it at least once and appreciate how this anime is made with love as it talks about experiences that make us human. You will be surprised how well the storytelling is.

#D2: God Troubles Me (Hanhua Riji)

Summary:

Su Moting, the daughter of a god and a monster, is the supposed Chosen One set to fix the balance of the universe, but unfortunately, she’s just barely living as it is. Only just told of her great fate, Su Moting couldn’t care less as she juggles her social life, work, and her new duties (which she doesn’t take seriously). Alongside Moting are Star Tianji and Star Dikui, a god and a monster out to help our protagonist with her grand mission. They, too, are also struggling to figure out life on Earth, as Tianji is an immortal who doubles as the god of Su Moting’s personal cellphone and Dikui is a cat monster immortal more concerned with lazing about. Somehow, they make things work as the best worst roommates of all time.

Propaganda:

Four-season donghua (Chinese anime) that’s so recent and seeped in American pop-culture that I needed to do a double take when a literal cockroach said “Run, Forrest, run,” in English with a heavy Chinese accent. There’s a cat who plays video games (he’s very good at it), a phone who’s the worst kind of hype man, a sentient air conditioner, a guy who can shapeshift into any vehicle, off-brand Super-Man but jerky, a high-ranking god that collects anime figures, and the mega ultra cool protagonist who is a normal human girl fresh out of college and always low on money. It’s great

All the TW’s above are done for comedic effect, but they come in fast and hard with the humor. Better safe than sorry! The biggest things I remember are one or two “blink and you’ll miss it” racist jokes, characters joking about killing themselves out of embarrassment (no one goes through with it), and there’s a LOT of self-harm via stupid decisions. Stupid things like tying a loose tooth to the back end of a sports car sort of stupid. The protagonists have 3 brain cells collectively.

(1/3) About the fanfic commentary post you reblogged, may I suggest: 'Maybe he's allowed to want a different end.' I don't know if you'll have anything to comment about it but I'm taking this opportunity to just rant about this line because aaaaaaah MY GOD. This line is now engraved in my brain. It has flipped my perspective on the DLC's 2 routes. I used to think of Brumm’s route as an added perspective on the Ritual, more lore and food for thought.

i’m glad i could... shed some light on how i view the whole deal with ritual vs banishment? brumm’s deepnest monologue, the grimmkin master and nightmare’s poems and grimm himself all point to the fact that the ritual has one ending. it repeats itself. in the howling cliffs, brumm says ‘this once, i would see the ritual fail’, so either someone going out of their way to stop the ritual from being completed is really, really rare, or maybe brumm is the first person to ever do it. which would be fucked up! it’d be really fucked up!!! he cares about grimm so much!!!!!!!!!

you see, i am very weak for characters challenging fate because they love someone so much that they do things that are just... almost impossible?? and then succeeding??? because their love is just that strong???? against all odds..... aa. aaaaaa. AAAAAAA. 

you see..... it’s like......... brumm tries to write a new ending for grimm............. just like.......... in music.......... there’s this term........... called volta........ and it’s used with a reprise......... so after repeating the whole song or a part of it.................. instead of playing the prima volta aka the first ending.......... you......... play the seconda volta............ and it’s a different ending of that part.............................. or something like that, idk, i dropped out of music school................................... yea............................................................

nightmare heart headcanons! sadness! a tiny flashback! this part has it all. i think despite the unresolved tension and the disagreement on whether or not grimm deserves to get metaphorically thrown under a lawnmower and served at the nightmare heart’s dinner table, grimm cares for brumm just as much as brumm cares for grimm, and grimm is very much aware that thinking and talking about the ritual really upsets them both but especially brumm, but it’s not like there’s anything he can do about it except offer brumm a way to drop the topic entirely, even if brumm is Super Mega Ultra Tired of it and just wants to finally resolve the issue. they’re just two goths that are tangled up in God Shit.

also literally the only reason i did not tag the fic as grimm/brumm is because grimm isn’t actually There alkdhgkldjghsfh. 

Grimm does not deserve a death that results in perpetuation of a cycle that does nothing. No matter how many lives are taken to sew veins, arteries, tissue for the realm, it will forever be incomplete. Grimm's death will mean nothing.

i don’t know what possessed me to write this. i think i was crying when writing this line. the part about grimm hits me hard every goddamn time, then the part about brumm just kicks me while i’m on the ground. i’m mean to everyone, including myself.

So, I decided to put together a list of things I’d like to see in the next core installation of the pokémon games. This list is NOT a prediction, but instead a wishlist of sorts. 

First, obviously the game will be set in some region of this mirrored earth that pokémon takes place in. I’m not super tied to any specific region, but I think a mesoamerican region like Mexico would be A++

Obviously there will be plenty of new pokémon, and I have hopes of some of the things we’ll see:

Like the art implies, I REALLY WAnt something to happen with Dunsparce to improve its viability. It’s an awesome pokémon. It’s a freakING SNAKe with wings. I think an evolution or alternate forme/regional variant would be perfect.

I want to see a pokémon based on the Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless) dog. It would make a BADASS dark type pokémon or maybe even an eeveelution? Leading me to my next point

I want to see an eeveelution. I made a graph for recurring themes in the franchise and, if the pattern stays true, we’ll see a new eeveelution in Gen VIII. (Poison!! Poison!! Poison!!)

I really want to see some more deep sea pokémon. I know, Water is the largest type in the game, so the LAST thing the games need are more Water pokémon, buT THE OCEAN is massive and we know so little about it, so I think Water SHOULD be the largest group. We have Huntail, Gorebyss, Clamperl, Relecant, Anorith, Cradily, Kyogre and maybe Lanturn (+ more?) that could be considered deep sea pokémon, but out of those, really only Huntail and Gorebyss are intentionally “deep sea”. So I want to see some truly weird, water types.

Since Poison is my favorite type, I’d like to see some new poison type combos that can be used in competition/party. We had Nihilego (Poison/Rock) in Gen VII, but the Ultra Beasts are still technically pseudo-legendary, (right???) so it doesn’t count. Salandit was an awesome addition (not super competitively viable, but ok)! I’m pleased, but I want more, I want to see what other unique combos are thought up.

A Ghost pokémon that I actually like. I love Ghost type, sosososososo much, but very few Ghost pokémon are viable for competition, which can be overlooked, sometimes, but some of them aren’t as cool as I’d like. I want a real kickass ghost pokémon that has a nice, scary feel to it and ISN’T legendary. (I do like Mimikyu and Gengar, but I feel like they’re overused? Maybe I’m just awful, whatever + I understand they gotta appeal to kids too)

Okay, the idea of Alien pokémon was cool, (and already done? Deoxys *cough* Kyurem) and, unpopular opinion: I like the Ultra Beasts a lot! (yeah, even Assembly), but I hope we’re finished with the anomaly. It’s going to be very strained and old to have to keep up with two worlds, and Hawai’i + Aliens is a recurring trope, so I hope it stays over there. If not, though, I will learn to love it. 

I do like the subtraction of HM moves, I hope the future games keep that feature. I appreciate being able to put together whatever party you want. Some of my friends however, will be very displeased if they don’t reinstate HMs, they like the challenge. 

I’d love to see them reinstate pokémon followers like in HGSS I loved it so much, it added to the experience, and with new graphics woULD BE SO fun. 

If the next installation IS on the Nintendo Switch (it is, right?) then I want to see a massive map. We’ve seen what the switch is capable of with Breath of the Wild, and I’m not expecting a huge, open world, pokémon game, BUT, if the Switch can run something as massive as Breath of the Wild, then running a hefty pokémon game should be a piece of cake. 

Also, unrealistic request, but crossbred pokémon variants would just be so cool. In a perfect world maybe. 

I also think it would be neat if the Alolan variants of pokémon were not available in the new games, I mean, they’re Alolan, so, unless you’re in Alola, why would they be available? 

Regardless, I do have a few predictions: 

We will see a new eeveelution. The pattern seems to lean towards it. 

We will have more regional variants that are not Alolan in whatever region we get.

We will (probably) have some new Mega Evolutions.

We will receive some additions to old evolutionary lines. It’s been a while since this happened now, and I’m ready to see what they come up with!
